Had a lovely weeks break here with my family. The hotel is beautiful, lovely pool area and great bar with lovely food that is served all day long. Our room was a maisonette. Double bed and single bed up a very steep spiral staircase. The room and bathroom itself is exceptionally clean however could benefit from updating as it is quite tired looking. Comfy bed and powerful shower though. Very clean towels (if a little rough). The staff are lovely and friendly. Big shout out to Orestis, the barman. Great guy working very long hours.
It’s no surprise that the hotel is at the top of a pretty steep hill. Can be a bit hard going in the heat. Also lots of steps to the apartments so not good for the less mobile. The views though are absolutely beautiful and worth the hill.
Kamari itself is a fantastic areas, loads of lovely bars and restaurants. Good transport to other areas you may wish to visit. My only disappointment was that they keep the bar open till the early hours if people wish to drink. This can get very noisy making sleep difficult as the acoustics from the mountain causes all noise to be heard from the bar area. They really need to stop serving at midnight for the comfort of other guests who are trying to sleep. This aside we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely return.

We stayed here for the last two weeks of June.
All of the staff are helpful and cheerful.
Our room was spacious, a duplex apartment.
Cleaning was daily with towels changed every day and regular bedding changes.
The snacks sold at the pool bar were excellent quality and value.
When we arrived it was late so were given complimentary water and fruit juice for the next morning.
Air Con is free, in fact our unit broke down and a new one was installed the same day!
The hill and location could be difficult for anyone not completely fit. I am speaking as someone who needs a stick some of the time.
Overall a highly recommended accommodation and the management of the establishment should be rightly proud of the service offered.

Arrived at the hotel and was dropped right at the bottom of the hill. We had 7 large cases and 3 children in midday heat and was not ideal. Not the hotels fault but something to be aware of when booking transfers. Staff where all really welcoming and took bags to the room. Rooms a little dated but very clean and towels and bedding changed daily. Shampoo body wash etc left in rooms daily. View was stunning. About 10 minute walk to the main strip of bars and restaurants again a really steep hill going upwards back to hotel so would not recommend for people with mobility issues or prams etc. Pool was always quiet and aways loungers available. Drinks and food was okay. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price but we ate one day and it was okay, nothing wonderful, we opted to go into town for a breakfast which was cheaper. Staff where very helpful and accommodating and cannot fault them. Another member of our party had to change rooms at one point as the shower head fell from the ceiling onto my daughters head which was really dangerous but staff happily moved them to another room with no fuss. Rooms definitely need an update and I’d then say it would be more of a 4/5* hotel. Has alot of potential to be beautiful and very up market.

Just returned from a wonderful week here . The views from the apartments were lovely . The studio was very spacious and the cleaning ladies worked very hard keeping everything spotless . Lovely clean pool and friendly staff . Just be aware there is €49 tax to pay for a weeks stay ( not the hotel’s fault )

We’ve been home about a week, after the most wonderful fortnight at the Aegean View. I can only echo what the vast majority of the hotel’s reviews say as to how good it is. We were so lucky to have a room at the very top, with a breathtaking view of the town and sea. While the decor may have been a little old fashioned, everything was very well maintained and I’ve never stayed anywhere that the cleaning was so meticulous.
The pool area was great, with ample sun loungers, for those who wanted to be there, and Tassos and Eddie were great hosts, at the bar - so warm and friendly, serving us Mythos in cold glasses and the most amazing cocktails - I recommend the Aegean View and Pina Colada. We’re not really ones for being at the pool, much, but when we did, we enjoyed it, and there were lovely seating areas to have a drink, in the evening, looking out, over Kamari.
Breakfast was ideal - fresh yoghurt, fruit, cheese, bread, etc.
We really loved it - we’re even missing the walk up the hill, from the town, and the stairs to the room.
Thanks to George, Tassos, Eddie and the team at the hotel, for such a brilliant holiday 🇬🇷🩵

After just returning from staying here I can’t say enough about this family run hotel . The views from our room were spectacular. Our room was spacious and contained everything in it you required, it was spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day
The family and staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you . Breakfast was great every thing you would want to set you up for the day . Would I go back and stay there again , Yes I would without a doubt.

Have just returned from a week staying at Agean View Hotel with friends. The hotel is located on outskirts of village but within easy walking distance to the centre. It is up a bit of a steep hill but only takes about 5 mins to walk up. All the staff are really polite and helpful and the owners go out of their way to assist you with anything they can. They gave us really good advice for travelling on public bus, which is very easy to do and spent a lot of time trying to book a table for us in Fira with good views of sunset and festival fireworks.

We stayed for a week arriving back 2 days ago. This is a family run hotel and all of the staff are friendly and hard working.
The location of the hotel requires a walk down the hll to get to any restaurants or supermarkets but the view is amazing.
Our room overlooked the pool and was basic. There were 2 adults and 2 teenagers staying in one room. The air conditioning worked but was not brilliant and it was rusted outside. The fridge took a good 12 hours to start to cool the drinks. There were also ants in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Cleaners came in once a day and did an excellent job.
The pool area was ok but there was not enough sunbeds for all guests as it was very busy when we were there. Towels were being left on sunbeds the night before to secure them. The pool was lovely and balls were left for residents to play with.
The pool bar was open for long hours and the food is excellent and well priced. However, the drinks were over priced meaning each evening it was empty!
Breakfast was available but we didn't use it.
We do not normally travel to Greece to compare against other places.

If you want rustic, cleanliness & great Greek hospitality then the Aegean View Hotel is the place for you!! Please be mindful there is a lot of steps around the hotel which could impact on people who have difficulty with walking. It is 15 minutes from the airport which is not a problem. The hotel is situated at the foot of the mountain therefore you loose the sun earlier than you would on the beach.
George met us at the steps of the hotel & made us very welcome, he is the oracle of what to do in Santorini.
The studios are an exceptional size, each one has its own uniqueness. Complimentary toiletries were provided & clean towels changed & maid service every day. We had a “hot tub” as a bonus in our studio 😀 Buffet breakfast has a good choice, there was no facilities to make toast but the staff were happy to oblige my toast request.
It is a 10 minute stroll or less to the beach & tavernas. An average meal for 2 costs about €50. All staff in bars & restaurants wear masks.
We used the public transport, the buses are clean & air conditioned. Masks are recommended when travelling.
Places of interest:
Perissa : similar to Kamari, a lovely beach resort. Please note all beaches consist of volcanic sands.
Fira: for a beautiful sunset, the scenery was spectacular, classic white & blue buildings, cobbled streets & bars to sit & watch the world go by.
A lovely Greek experience for us, however we met a couple who have been visiting this hotel for the last 20 years.
Like it says in the title “one for the bucket list”👍

This is a FAMILY run hotel, where the service is second to nothing. They bend over backwards to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as can be.

The room we stayed in was palatial, indeed it was technically a one bedroomed apartment, and it really made us feel welcome by giving us a bottle of wine and flowers for our Honeymoon.

The pool, breakfast and bar area are welcoming and it helps that you have a direct view of the nearby sea. A special mention to 'George' who could not do enough to help us. He is a credit to not just himself but also the island of Santorini.

I highly recommend this delightful place.

Patrick & Janine Weir.
