Tucked away in the heart of Kamari in Santorini and just a few passes away of the famous black sand beach, the Acqua Vatos has been fully refurbished and transformed into a hip boutique hotel in the spring of 2011. It is trendy, elegant and from time to time eccentric, with minimalistic design and exhibitionist bathrooms. Acqua Vatos is ideal for families with kids, since there are rooms designed and equipped especially for them. The XXL pool is a star attraction for adults and children of any age.

Location…..
The hotel is in a great location, 2 minutes from the main strip on a street with lovely shops and restaurants. A few minutes walk takes you to the bus stop where you can get to Thira for 2 euros ( from there you can get to anywhere on the island for 2 euros) You have a great Gyros restaurant/take away around the corner, Elias Grill…..delicious gyros!

Hotel……
The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are lovely. We stayed in a superior room so we had a fridge and a little seating area. 213 had a good view of the pool , the vineyard next door and the magnificent mountain. The pool area was lovely and private with comfy sun beds. A little pool bar was open for drinks through the day. Breakfast was lovely with continental food as well as eggs and sometimes bacon, toasters were available also. Great start to the day!

Staff…..The staff absolutely make this hotel! The girls on the reception are the friendliest I have ever experienced. Nothing is too much trouble. They bend over backwards to make sure your holiday is the best it can be! They have a great sense of humour and were a pleasure to deal with.

Will we be back? Absolutely!

My husband, Chris, and myself returned home yesterday from a 3 week holiday at this gem of a hotel. We spent 3 weeks there last year too. We received the warmest of welcomes from the staff who are the kindest, sweetest, helpful and friendliest staff we have ever encountered.

The hotel is situated on a side street from the main strip so far enough away from the hustle and bustle but only a few minutes walk to the beach and the many bars and tavernas.. Some lovely tavernas close by plus the bus stop to Thira and other places. The hotel is a 32 bed boutique style hotel which is modern and spotlessly clean. There is a good sized fridge and very efficient air con too. Lots of drawers, hanging space and coat hangers.

Breakfasts are lovely, bacon, sausages, eggs cooked different ways each morning, bread for toasting, cereals, fresh fruit, meat, cheese, olives, sweet and savoury pastries, cakes, cookies, various fruit juices and a coffee machine with various coffees and tea bags available too. All beautifully cooked and presented by the lovely ladies in the breakfast room which is the perfect way to start the day.

The pool area always has tables, chairs and sun beds available in the sun and shade and is a very serene area and lovely and clean too. Irene runs the pool bar, such a lovely and sweet young lady. We spent our days around the pool, at its busiest the pool only had a handful of people at any one time, fresh towels daily are available at reception.

Alena, who kept our room spotless daily was a lovely sweet lady who worked so efficiently and was so friendly and remembered us from last year.

Meena and Ria at reception are a sheer delight, so friendly, helpful, polite, competent but also with a good sense of humour and lovely to chat with. Thank you for booking Santo Wines for us where we had a beautiful evening and for arranging transport too. Also a new lady on reception who was lovely and friendly too. A lovely young man took over reception at night, always good to chat with him after returning at night.

Beautiful cats around the front terrace too.

Thank you to you all for another amazing holiday at Acqua Vatos, see you next year. We cannot imagine a summer without a visit to our favourite hotel.

Kate and Chris 😀😀

We booked this hotel through TUI.
All expectations of a great hotel .
The resort is faultless given the proximity of all the restaurants and bars being close by
However we arrived at this hotel to be very disappointed.
There were no lifts to the rooms .
The room we were allocated was awful.
A bed pushed up against a wall , little or no wardrobe space , the room was so small we had no room to even store our suitcases.
I had to complain and to be fair the staff were helping and we were relocated to a more suitable room the following morning.
If you’re looking for a usual hotel complex with all the thrills then this is not for you.
In summary this is no more than glorified guesthouse in need of extensive renovation.
The pool is ok but the sun beds need replacing as there old and decrepit .
It advertises a vineyard which at the time of booking seemed appealing.
Quite the contrary it’s a weed looking strip of land with no sign of grapes.
In summary
The staff were good but if you’re looking for a modern hotel then forget this one . It’s probably 1970 ish a bit like what you find on Blackpool promenade and you wouldn’t pay almost £2500 for 2 weeks holiday bed and breakfast on Blackpool promenade

Tui have a lot to answer for

Dear Sxrew57, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It is disappointing to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to address the concerns you raised. While our property does not have lifts, we ensure this information is communicated clearly during the booking process, and TUI UK is fully aware of this. Our team is always on hand to assist with luggage and address any accessibility needs. Additionally, our property does not advertise or promote having a vineyard, so we encourage you to reach out to TUI UK for further clarification on this matter. Regarding your initial room, it is a pity to hear that it did not meet your standards. We are pleased, however, that our team was able to assist promptly and relocate you to a more comfortable room. Our property is a boutique-style hotel designed with a traditional and charming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the area. While we recognize that it may not match the features of larger, modern complexes, we aim to offer an authentic and cozy experience to all our guests. We appreciate your feedback about the pool sunbeds, and we will certainly review these points to identify areas for improvement. Our team is committed to enhancing our facilities and maintaining a comfortable environment for all guests. It’s encouraging to hear that you found our staff to be helpful, as we take great pride in delivering attentive and friendly service. We truly value your feedback as an opportunity to improve and we really hope to welcome you back in the future, where we can provide a more enjoyable experience. Kind regards, Acqua Vatos Team

We have travelled extensively both for work and holidays and I have never given a 5 star review before but there really is nothing to criticise about this hotel, and so much to rave about.
We stayed for 2 weeks with my 80 year old parents and my 18 year old son and we all had a fantastic time.
The staff are friendly, fantastic and amazing at their jobs. The reception staff are really concierges as nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel and rooms are immaculate and cleaned every day.
There are usually beds available at the pool and always tables at breakfast. The range and quality of food kept us all well fed with a great breakfast.
There is no road noise in the rooms and the air conditioning is the best I have ever experienced with a remote to control the temperature.
Location wise everything is within 5 mins and that includes the beach. The only thing to point out is that the beach and sea are not suitable for young children as there is a steep shelf and very little shallows.
We are counting the days until we can return and are so pleased that we found this hidden gem with an amazing laid back vibe.

Staff at this hotel are lovely, Mina, Rea and the team (and that means everyone working at the hotel) just made our stay, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect, 5 minute walk to the lovely beach, 2 minutes to the bus stop where you can catch a bus anywhere on the island. Restaurants and shops aplenty as soon as you walk out of the door, Kamari is such a relaxed beach resort, just perfect for a couple of weeks winding down. Fira is lovely but has the hustle and bustle of a city and full of cruise ship tourists at most times. Oia lovely too and we stopped there overnight to watch the sunset. However, if we go back to Santorini it will be Kamari again as its such a relaxing place, the Acqua Vatos is also great value as a hotel, but it is the people first and the location second that really makes it stand out. We would recommend staying here.

Having previously been to Santorini 3 times but only on cruises we decided to have a holiday here. We stayed here from 26th April to the 6th May. Such a warm greeting from the girls at reception. We were given room 210 which was great as it had a separate bedroom and 2 balconies. Very modern hotel with nice artwork everywhere. Quite good WiFi so could use my firestick to connect to TV. Bathroom shower powerful with good hot water. Breakfast was very plentiful which was constantly stocked up with fresh food. Pool towels provided to use by the large pool which had comfortable sun beds. The location of this hotel made it perfect as it was on the main street with shops and restaurants all around and only 150 metres from the beach. All the staff in the hotel were very friendly the 2 girls on reception always commenting how nice my wife was dressed. If we come back to Santorini we will stay in Kamira and definitely this hotel. We would maybe come here a week or 2 later as it was very quiet the first week.

So as the title suggests the hotel is in a prime location within Kamari it's only a hundred or so meters from the beach yet is conveniently about the same distance to the nearest bar's (close enough where they're just a minute or two walk away and still far enough where you won't hear any noise in your room) the rooms in the hotel vary MASSIVELY. Our first room was 114 which was very basic and quite disappointing, the bed was pushed up against the corner and the fridge was noisy, there were no windows (though it wouldn't matter if there was as the room is basically in the basement of the hotel).

The rooms don't come with an iron and the hotel only has two irons available, both if which were knackered and spitting out limescale when I attempted to use them. This was to iron a white shirt less than am hour before being picked up for a wedding so time was an issue, fortunately there's a great laundry service basically next door to the hotel and they were able to save the day.

On the back of the issue with the irons and an exposed connector block hanging from the ceiling of our room we were given a free upgrade to a suite (room 210 to be exact). The new room was much nicer and far more spacious, it has two separate balconies with good views of the mountain. It had a living room, a king size bedroom and a shower room.

The positives of this hotel are

Great Central location
Close proximity to all the best resteraunts
Friendly and helpful staff
Clean
Great air con (some of the most powerful I've experienced)
Nice firm mattresses
Has a spare shower room and toilet for freshening up after checkout

The not so great points

Room 114
Not enough irons
No smart TVs so no youtube, prime, or netflix access
Small pool

Overall a decent stay. If I were returning to the area I'd probably spend a little more and book the raddison blue (just behind the aqua vatos) it has all of the same benefits with none of the drawbacks
