The Alexandra Hotel garners praise for its immaculate cleanliness and modern amenities, though some guests note the rooms can feel dated or cramped. While opinions on noise levels vary, with disturbances from construction and planes noted, many visitors find the hotel's atmosphere homely and the staff's service warm and attentive. The value proposition is mixed; affordable room rates are contrasted by a pricey bar and extra amenity costs. Guests appreciate the hotel's prime location near the beach and shops, despite some finding the pool area wanting in size and sunbed availability.

We’ve just returned from a 5 night stay in this hotel. I would definitely return to this hotel when visiting again. It is not luxury like some others in the area but the price reflects that and actually we are so pleased we booked it. It was great value for money! Beautiful pool with plenty of sun beds, the cocktails were the best we had during our visit of Santorini and the food was lovely! The room is fairly basic but absolutely what you would expect for the price and it has everything you need, plus it was cleaned very frequently. The whole hotel was kept very clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the lovely lady on reception. Only a 10 minute walk to the main beach front strip of restaurants in Kamari and 10 minutes to the airport. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The Alexandra Hotel is at the Northern end of Kamari beach, quite close to the airport which involved some aeroplane noise but it didn't bother me too much. The rooms at the hotel (which seem recently built and are arranged in a 'village' format) are comfortable and well appointed, the bar offers snacks throughout most of the day situated around the pool at modest prices. Breakfast became an unexciting process, no change whatsoever for 7 days with very basic offerings, but the area was very clean and service was polite with the necessary covid restrictions in place also.
The apartments are situated within 5 mins walking distance of the main beachfront area, which holds numerous bars and restaurants with various shops for a wide range of jewellery, clothes etc.
Overall i enjoyed my stay :)

Just returned from a week staying at the Alexandra, just me and my 17 year old daughter.
The hotel was fab, staff were all lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Room was spotless, location 5 to 6 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants etc.
How this is only a 2 star is beyond me.
Please do not be put off my negative moans and groans. I would highly recommend and without a doubt will be returning.

This hotel was fantastic, I had apprehensions as a young single woman staying alone but I genuinely had the most incredible time and can not fault this hotel. The staff are all incredibly friendly, happy to help and approachable with excellent level of English. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy, with my room being cleaned daily and fresh sheets and towels provided every single day without ask. Check in and check out was both smooth, and as I had a late flight they allowed me to keep my luggage safe in their reception and I was able to use all amenities throughout my stay.

The location as well is superb, close enough to the airport that the transfer can be done within minutes and only 100m from the beach, which comes in handy as the pool area is often very busy with most beds taken. If you wish to have a sun lounger at the pool it is best to get there as early as possible to reserve your spot. But this is not a problem as the beach is so close, the water fantastic to swim in (just bring sea shoes as the rocks are slippy) and you are only a 5-10 minute walk from all sea front restaurants and sun loungers which you can use as long as you purchase some food or drink from the establishment.

Breakfast is basic but tasty- the greek yoghurt and fruit are fantastic and you can purchase food throughout the day from the bar or there are plenty of nearby markets and restaurants etc. Kamari is a pretty affordable place in comparison to other areas such as Oia so if you wanted to eat out every meal you could do for a fairly reasonable price.

Affordable and I would definitely stay again, in fact a lot of the guests are repeat customers and come back as they love it so much.

My daughter and I have just returned from an amazing week at the Alexandra.
Upon arrival we were checked in promptly and allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms which was delightful, but did not have a sea view. A quick ask at reception and we were shown an un refurbished room at the front. Well, how perfect, a beautiful view over the sea, not sure why the room needs a refurb, it had a fridge and aircon and was very clean with crisp linen and lovely white towels. The shower had an old style curtain, but was hot and very powerful.
The inclusive breakfast was amazing. Unable to offer a buffet the ladies make up a tray with basically everything from the buffet in little plastic pots, this varies daily but was bread, boiled egg, yogurt, sandwich, savoury pastry, sweet pastry, water melon, juice and hot drinks. We refused about half of it each day to avoid waste.
The pool snack bar offered food and drink at reasonable prices and made delicious toasties. They also do hot dogs burgers and salads and fries.
The elephant in the room about this hotel is it’s proximity to the runway. Yes the planes are a bit noisy, but the sound is very brief and not every 5 mins. I actually embraced the planes downloading the arrivals app so we could see where each plane came from. The rest of the hotel more than made up for the planes which after a few days you don’t notice.
The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the beginning of the of beach restaurants.
I would recommend it if you love Greek hotels with a family feel. It’s value for money is off the scale.

Firstly I wish we could give more than 5 stars

The Alexander Hotel, Kamari is one of the nicest we have stayed. The area is beautiful and has a lovely swimming pool, with excellent beds to relax. Food is great and so much had been put in place regarding Covid we felt very safe.

The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble always smiling and easy to chat with

The hotel is extremely clean, bedding and towels changed every day.

There are many restaurants and bars nearby with choices for everyone. The Boat House restaurant was fabulous, had a Greek night, singer, smashing the plates but wasn’t allowed to dance (Covid) but we still had a fantastic evening. Food is first class and the family who own and run this, are amazing

We never return to a place we have been but this most definitely will be a must….

Thank you to everyone at The Alexander Hotel for the best stay …. Xx

We stayed at the Alexandra for 2 weeks in an upgraded room on the first floor (33) just off reception as soon as we arrived we felt at home.

Room was spacious with good air con and the comfiest king size bed so had great nights sleep, had a shower room which was well equipped and anti bac hand wash was provided, also hand gel in all places around the hotel. Room was cleaned everyday with clean towels and bedding. The safe facility is not in the room but behind reception.

Breakfast was served on trays as they weren't allowed self service buffets because of covid, could eat in the breakfast
area, outside or take to your room, we did miss a few morning (too much wine and ouzo) but had a great choice from the bar menu later in the day.

Nice pool area with comfy sunbeds and a pool bar (well stocked) which served great food and drinks all day and late night, great friendly family atmosphere playing nice music.

All staff were very friendly which is why we felt so at home.

We arrived as guests but left as friends... we have already booked for next year as we just love this hotel and village of Kamari

Very comfortable room with air-condition and more, at first without arriving I phoned to Hotel and lady from reception asked me If I want an airport transfer (a few euro less as a regular taxi) and she asked me if I want to order the room without booking (7 euro less per day). Next, when we arrived the room was ready 4 hours earlier than the regular check-in hour. Later LAdies from reception was very kind and helpful, for instance when we wanted the walk to the next village Lady had told us this is not possible with a stroller and she does not recommend going by bus because rent a car would be cheaper, so we had taken it but this isn't all, lady call to the rental car and car was waiting for us on the hotel parking (return in this same place). Thanks to that decision we visited the whole island. Also, we could go to the tour to another island - Thirasia by a tour which we had bought through the hotel reception Ledies help and recommendation.

Otherwise, every day when we had had a car yet. Lady told us many places that she recommended to see. And she loves children every time when was going through reception lady was playing with my child by few minutes, this was fun.

Gorgeous hotel, very very clean, cleaner does the room every day. The dining area where you have breakfast the woman work really hard. They keep it very clean & always putting fresh breakfast out in the morning so it never runs out. The breakfast is lovely Greek yogurt, fruit melon boiled eggs, cereals bread, madeira cake there's always something nice to choice from. The pool is lovely my son loved the pool & he had the food by the pool which looks nice & massive portion size on a great price. Staff around the pool the guys do a great job too, serving food and drinks. The receptionist staff are very helpful gives loads of information for sightseeing and tours. We were in room 39 did get disturbed sleep, with noisy guest coming in during the night & early hours in the morning drunk. My room was by the entrance of the hotel near the bar on the receptionist. The receptionist said they would move me which was nice, but I ended up getting use to the noise, some of the guest was with a wedding & left so hotel went quieter. The plane noise didn't bother me at all, as flying planes near the airport go by. But you don't notice at all in the evening time. Rooms & hotel is more like a three star & not a two star. Rooms are basic but very modern and clean with lovely balcony. You can hire beach towels for €5 & receive the €5 back when you hand the towel back. There's a little supermarket next door & a brilliant restaurant Dimitris 2 mins walk away. They have a Greek night Tuesday & Fridays, we went on a Tuesday night which is abit quieter on a Tuesday but it's a fantastic night with all your drinks and food include that it was really fun getting up and dancing. Lovely bars restaurants beach & bus stop into Fira 15 to 20 mins walk away. You can take a quick way to beach, bars & restaurant if you come out of the hotel & do a right leads you straight to the beach but the pebbly beach gets hot to walk on in the sun. Would be fantastic if the hotel has a small gym/ jacuzzi or entertainment for the guests. But definitely worth staying if you're on a budget & just want somewhere nice and clean to stay if you're out sightseeing most of the time.

On arriving at the Alexandra hotel we were greeted by a friendly woman on reception, who gave us directions to the room and the beach, half way through the conversation I almost ran for cover as this almighty noise suddenly hit us, the wife and I just looked at each other and laughed thinking, is this going to be a regular ordeal for the duration of our stay and yep it sure was.
I’m not saying it was noisy but but you could see the passengers through the windows.
This started on average around 5 to 5.30 am and finished normally around 12 midnight.
The hotel is almost at the end of the runway but to be fair after a while you do adapt to it.
The rooms are small but adequate, but cubard space is none existent, one built in open wardrobe only enough room for the womens clothes so I just threw all mine on the little bench in the corner.
Decent balcony too plenty of room to stretch out and relax, if you can stand the heat.
Nice bathroom with a waterfall shower decent wash area and clean toilet and the maid service is every day, she did a great job to .
There was no safe in our room and TUI told us there would be.
The lady on reception hired us a safety deposit box for 10 euro’s per week which did the job fine, it’s just a pain having to go down to get what you need back up to the room for privacy, get what you need then back down to reception to look up your valuables again.
We were bed and breakfast but the breakfast is laughable we are there the first morning and that was enough, so the rest of our stay we ate on the main strip, which may I add is fantastic and you’re spoiled for choice from the amount of restaurants to choose from.
The pool and bar area is nice with great service friendly staff and a decent variety of hot and cold snacks is on offer, as far as drinks go you won’t be disappointed, loads to choose from.
We were there as my wife’s son was getting married on the Sunday and we weren’t the only ones, quite a few wedding parties arrived including one obnoxious lot from Newcastle, very loud, rude to others and the staff weren’t impressed with them either.
Overall I rate this a 3 simply because the aircraft noise and poor breakfast choice.
All other aspects of the holiday were fantastic with lovely friendly people, well you’d expect nothing less from the people of Greece,
I’d highly recommend Santorini
Just remember folks buy some protective beach footwear because getting in and out the sea is a painful affair, nice beach with black sand and stones and plenty of choice for sun-beds, just eat at any restaurant once and you can use their sun-beds and toilets as often as you wish for your stay in Santorini.
