The apartments are situated within 5 mins walking distance of the main beachfront area, which holds numerous bars and restaurants with various shops for a wide range of jewellery, clothes etc.
Overall i enjoyed my stay :)
The hotel was fab, staff were all lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Room was spotless, location 5 to 6 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants etc.
How this is only a 2 star is beyond me.
Please do not be put off my negative moans and groans. I would highly recommend and without a doubt will be returning.
The location as well is superb, close enough to the airport that the transfer can be done within minutes and only 100m from the beach, which comes in handy as the pool area is often very busy with most beds taken. If you wish to have a sun lounger at the pool it is best to get there as early as possible to reserve your spot. But this is not a problem as the beach is so close, the water fantastic to swim in (just bring sea shoes as the rocks are slippy) and you are only a 5-10 minute walk from all sea front restaurants and sun loungers which you can use as long as you purchase some food or drink from the establishment.
Breakfast is basic but tasty- the greek yoghurt and fruit are fantastic and you can purchase food throughout the day from the bar or there are plenty of nearby markets and restaurants etc. Kamari is a pretty affordable place in comparison to other areas such as Oia so if you wanted to eat out every meal you could do for a fairly reasonable price.
Affordable and I would definitely stay again, in fact a lot of the guests are repeat customers and come back as they love it so much.
10/10
Upon arrival we were checked in promptly and allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms which was delightful, but did not have a sea view. A quick ask at reception and we were shown an un refurbished room at the front. Well, how perfect, a beautiful view over the sea, not sure why the room needs a refurb, it had a fridge and aircon and was very clean with crisp linen and lovely white towels. The shower had an old style curtain, but was hot and very powerful.
The inclusive breakfast was amazing. Unable to offer a buffet the ladies make up a tray with basically everything from the buffet in little plastic pots, this varies daily but was bread, boiled egg, yogurt, sandwich, savoury pastry, sweet pastry, water melon, juice and hot drinks. We refused about half of it each day to avoid waste.
The pool snack bar offered food and drink at reasonable prices and made delicious toasties. They also do hot dogs burgers and salads and fries.
The elephant in the room about this hotel is it’s proximity to the runway. Yes the planes are a bit noisy, but the sound is very brief and not every 5 mins. I actually embraced the planes downloading the arrivals app so we could see where each plane came from. The rest of the hotel more than made up for the planes which after a few days you don’t notice.
The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the beginning of the of beach restaurants.
I would recommend it if you love Greek hotels with a family feel. It’s value for money is off the scale.
The Alexander Hotel, Kamari is one of the nicest we have stayed. The area is beautiful and has a lovely swimming pool, with excellent beds to relax. Food is great and so much had been put in place regarding Covid we felt very safe.
The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble always smiling and easy to chat with
The hotel is extremely clean, bedding and towels changed every day.
There are many restaurants and bars nearby with choices for everyone. The Boat House restaurant was fabulous, had a Greek night, singer, smashing the plates but wasn’t allowed to dance (Covid) but we still had a fantastic evening. Food is first class and the family who own and run this, are amazing
We never return to a place we have been but this most definitely will be a must….
Thank you to everyone at The Alexander Hotel for the best stay …. Xx

Room was spacious with good air con and the comfiest king size bed so had great nights sleep, had a shower room which was well equipped and anti bac hand wash was provided, also hand gel in all places around the hotel. Room was cleaned everyday with clean towels and bedding. The safe facility is not in the room but behind reception.
Breakfast was served on trays as they weren't allowed self service buffets because of covid, could eat in the breakfast
area, outside or take to your room, we did miss a few morning (too much wine and ouzo) but had a great choice from the bar menu later in the day.
Nice pool area with comfy sunbeds and a pool bar (well stocked) which served great food and drinks all day and late night, great friendly family atmosphere playing nice music.
All staff were very friendly which is why we felt so at home.
We arrived as guests but left as friends... we have already booked for next year as we just love this hotel and village of Kamari
Otherwise, every day when we had had a car yet. Lady told us many places that she recommended to see. And she loves children every time when was going through reception lady was playing with my child by few minutes, this was fun.
I’m not saying it was noisy but but you could see the passengers through the windows.
This started on average around 5 to 5.30 am and finished normally around 12 midnight.
The hotel is almost at the end of the runway but to be fair after a while you do adapt to it.
The rooms are small but adequate, but cubard space is none existent, one built in open wardrobe only enough room for the womens clothes so I just threw all mine on the little bench in the corner.
Decent balcony too plenty of room to stretch out and relax, if you can stand the heat.
Nice bathroom with a waterfall shower decent wash area and clean toilet and the maid service is every day, she did a great job to .
There was no safe in our room and TUI told us there would be.
The lady on reception hired us a safety deposit box for 10 euro’s per week which did the job fine, it’s just a pain having to go down to get what you need back up to the room for privacy, get what you need then back down to reception to look up your valuables again.
We were bed and breakfast but the breakfast is laughable we are there the first morning and that was enough, so the rest of our stay we ate on the main strip, which may I add is fantastic and you’re spoiled for choice from the amount of restaurants to choose from.
The pool and bar area is nice with great service friendly staff and a decent variety of hot and cold snacks is on offer, as far as drinks go you won’t be disappointed, loads to choose from.
We were there as my wife’s son was getting married on the Sunday and we weren’t the only ones, quite a few wedding parties arrived including one obnoxious lot from Newcastle, very loud, rude to others and the staff weren’t impressed with them either.
Overall I rate this a 3 simply because the aircraft noise and poor breakfast choice.
All other aspects of the holiday were fantastic with lovely friendly people, well you’d expect nothing less from the people of Greece,
I’d highly recommend Santorini
Just remember folks buy some protective beach footwear because getting in and out the sea is a painful affair, nice beach with black sand and stones and plenty of choice for sun-beds, just eat at any restaurant once and you can use their sun-beds and toilets as often as you wish for your stay in Santorini.
