Don’t stay here - not so much the hotel but the entire Kamari area is dead - and this is in August at what is supposed to be peak travel time - it’s like Niagara Falls without the falls or people - lots of trash shops with the same kitche repeated, the gauntlet of restaurants where every guy is out there trying to push you into their empty establishment. That aside, the hotel is relatively clean but the facilities suck and you are right in the flight path. By flight path I mean gear down, landing lights on, and jet wash as they are coming in barely above the hotel with jets screaming. 24x7, and every ten minutes during the day. Rooms are sparse, shower will fit a Mediterranean midget and that’s about it - low water pressure as well. Front desk staff are super friendly and nice, breakfast staff not so much. Piles of dishes and empty bins of food are the norm. This is a 3* at best, less considering the planes landing right behind the hotel around the clock. Stay somewhere far from here and thank me later!…
Modern hotel, staff are friendly, food is ok. Same buffet breakfast every day, evening meals are from a small selection. Convenience store next door which sells cheaper drinks and food. All the main island attractions are easily accessible from here including the airport. The planes are few and far between but can run through the night. I didn’t particularly find it a problem. Local busses are modern, cheap and have ac. Taxis can be expensive but are obviously quicker. For me the volcano trip is not worth doing but trips to Oia and Thera are. Nice relaxing island with a cooling sea breeze.
We visited here in May and were a bit dubious after reading the reviews , but we had nothing to worry about , this us a great hotel in kamari , 2 min walk to the front , supermarket next door and a fab restaurant opposite , our room was basic but very clean and had everything we needed in it , the breakfast was lovely we ate it everyday , the pool area is lovely , sunbed are comfortable we absolutely loved it here and will definitely return . We were in room 112 on the ground pool view 👌
We stayed in this hotel for approximately 4 days. The hotel is in Kamari which is a beach town. The hotel staff were great ....can not do enough for you. Went above and beyond to help us (especially Christina). Without her help during our time of crisis we would not have been able to enjoy the rest of our vacation. The hotel is very clean and has just been freshly painted. The buffet was nice with a variety of food to choose from. The hotel is close to the beach boardwalk for restaurants and shopping. Don't come before May as most places are closed. Our room was extremely small with a small double bed and starched sheets which made a noise all night. The bathtub/shower was very small and hard to maneuver around. Probably ok for younger people but harder for Seniors...or someone with mobility issues. The pool and surrounding area is beautiful. The loungers are very nice and there is a small pool bar for drinks and food. It is expensive to take a car to Fira or Oia...50-60 Euros I believe. Also you can rent a car but the roads are narrow and there are no parking spots. As in other reviews the downside to this hotel is it is under the flight path for incoming/outgoing flights....so a bit noisy. The other thing is the surrounding hotels have the same problem. We liked the area and not sure what it would be like to stay in Fira or Oia. We really liked the hotel and would recommend it. If you like the beach...closeness to restaurants/shopping and being able to walk around and are not bothered by the flight noise then I would stay here.…
We extremely enjoyed our stay at the Rose Bay Hotel. It was a short walk to the beach (less than 2 mins walk). The rooms where perfect for us and we had a full balcony overlooking the pool, which we were able to enjoy and relax. Staff was very accommodation and went out of their way to make sure your needs were attended to. Housekeeping was provided daily, which we appreciated very much. Also, we loved the pool area, restaurant and bar.
My wife and I had an amazing stay here. Early June was the perfect time of year, not crowded yet. The hotel has free breakfast and very reasonably priced lunch and dinner options. It is situated in a quaint neighborhood very near the beach, secluded and very peaceful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing option in Santorini. The staff went out of their way arranging transportation for us several times to visit Oia, Akoritiri, and a wine tour.
The rooms were underwhelming at first, but actually perfect for us! The covered patio off of the room was so nice in the mornings and evenings with the cool breeze. Located very close to the water with many restaurants and a small grocery store next to the hotel. The pool area is gorgeous and the staff are so kind and helpful. I would 100% stay there again!
A short bus trip from Fira, this is a great location to avoid the crowds with the beach steps away! Great choices of restaurants and a fantastic pool area Room was spotless although we were not in the updated area (Ask to overlook the pool! ) The breakfast had a great selection of choices
I have just spent a week with a group of friends at the Rose Bay Hotel. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. The whole team provided us with an amazing experience. A charming hotel with a good location in Kamari. Thank you
This is a lovely place to stay. Its set back from the touristy areas make it a little quieter. While near the airport, the sound of the jets taking off was hardly heard inside the rooms. Breakfast and the pool were wonderful as were the staff. Request a main floor room as the upstairs rooms are tiny.
