Myself and two friends stayed here for a week.Hotel rooms spotless and cleaned everydy with fresh towels, all staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet had everything available and dinner at night was a five course meal with delicious well cooked food. Special mention to Waiters Tony and Zoey, lovely people who looked after us well and catered to our every need.Cannot find any fault.. perhaps on flight route to airport which did not bother us at all.

We've just returned from a week's holiday, we stayed in room 103. All the staff were excellent, with special mention to Christina on reception, Natasha in housekeeping and Panus? the waiter for their friendly efficient and outstanding service. We had a delicious breakfast each morning with plenty of choice and noticed some guests enjoying a glass of Prosecco, although it was a little early for us to indulge!
Rosebay is in a great location, five minutes from the beach with a wonderful promenade surrounded by restaurants and shops. Most restaurants provide free sun loungers as long as you buy your drinks or a meal, all at very reasonable prices.
There is an excellent restaurant, Lolo's, directly opposite the hotel, and a handy little supermarket next door.

Great food, great service from friendly staff. Grounds and pool are spotless, rooms need some TLC however it looks like the hotel has had a make over. Evening meals consisted of 6 courses and the serving was far to large. We stayed in room 205 which had great view of the pool and a great balcony. Don’t be put off with reports of airplane noise, you are very close to the airport and you do hear the planes however after a day you tend to ignore it, bear in mind it’s not Heathrow, there are possibly 1-2 flights per hour at most.

Rosebay was an nice hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, it is clean, good location (like 50 meters from the beach), nice pool area and overall environment, good gym and breakfast is ok.

BUT, there is two problems that we cannot ignore. Many of the guests either go to the pool area in the middle of the night or wake up super early to ”reserve” the sunbeds. When breakfast starts at 7.30 am almost all the sunbeds were reserved 6 of 7 days of our stay. So we only had one day by the hotel pool (and we are not people who sleep in). And the area is not made for much more beds than there already are so we really recommend that the hotel starts with a ”no reservation policy”. The towels just laid there for hours and no one used them, such a waste. On our one pool day we saw a woman (with help from the staff) take away a hotel towel from a sunbed that had not been used for at least an hour. A while later the people that previously was using the bed got back and there actually was a huge fight over this. So, a ”no reservation policy” is a must here.

And a second thing that unfortunatley drags down the score is the noice from the airplanes that lands on the airport that is very close by. We read that the planes does not land at night, but they do. And it is extremley loud. You have to be a very very heavy sleeper to not notice the sound. Even with earplugs (that the hotel does not provide) we woke up several times a night. This we imagine goes for all the hotels in this area tho.

All and all a good hotel (we really liked the staff!) but som adjustments is recuired regarding pool area and sound profing.

This hotels manager lets this hotel down by over charging to keep rooms on for the last day .After staying for a week there was a charge of €50 to keep the room until we left . There is no curtesy room to have a shower , as mentioned before an outdoor shower next to the pool is offered .It is the last few days before the hotel closes , there are many empty rooms . It would have been good customer service to allow guests to keep their rooms free of charge . Left feeling disappointed.

Response from Rosebay Hotel, General Manager at Rosebay Hotel Santorini
Responded Oct 29, 2022
Dear Visitor, we are very sorry that you are feeling disappointed. We asked for an extra charge as we were requested for late checkout at 22:00, finally, we suggested, that you kept the room until 17:00 without any extra charge. We hope the next time we will keep you more satisfied.

Had an amazing week at the RoseBay, Santorini. The hotel is very clean, facilities well maintained and the staff exceptional, especially the Restaurant Manager and Zachariah who helps run the pool bar.
We went half board and the evening food menu (5 course) gave excellent choices and was great quality. There are plenty of options if you didn’t wish to eat in the hotel but it took away the stress of finding somewhere to eat each evening.
The hotel is also on the edge of the main resort which we liked because it was quieter. There were plenty of sunbeds and seating around the pool.
The island had some stunning views most of which you could get to by the local buses and we didn’t feel the need to pay for an expensive “tour”.
7 days would be enough to explore the island and still have pool / beach time.

Our flight was in the evening and the reception staff gave us a free room with no money That we can bathe and rest before the flight. It certainly doesn't exist in any hotel without money.👏👏👏

We extremely enjoyed our stay at the Rose Bay Hotel. It was a short walk to the beach (less than 2 mins walk). The rooms where perfect for us and we had a full balcony overlooking the pool, which we were able to enjoy and relax. Staff was very accommodation and went out of their way to make sure your needs were attended to. Housekeeping was provided daily, which we appreciated very much. Also, we loved the pool area, restaurant and bar.

My wife and I had an amazing stay here. Early June was the perfect time of year, not crowded yet. The hotel has free breakfast and very reasonably priced lunch and dinner options. It is situated in a quaint neighborhood very near the beach, secluded and very peaceful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing option in Santorini. The staff went out of their way arranging transportation for us several times to visit Oia, Akoritiri, and a wine tour.

Very nice hotel, very clean, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The breakfast was a buffet, with the usual options, we had pastries and fruit which were great.

Our room overlooked the swimming pool which looked gorgeous at night, we had a lovely big balcony too.

The distance to the beach was about 40 seconds which was amazing as we thought it would be a bit of a trek.

There were a couple of negatives, one being the fact that you are directly under the flight path, and there are a lot of planes coming in and out, some really late at night, but obviously there's nothing the hotel can do about this.

The second negative was that although there were signs on all the parasols asking people not to reserve sunbeds, they still did this every day - we only got to sit by the pool on our last day and that was only because lots of people had gone home and we had a late flight - again this isn't the hotel's fault, they've done what they can.

Last little moan was because our flight wasn't until 11pm I'd asked if we were able to use a shower and get changed somewhere as we were going to be around the pool all day. We were told these facilities would be available, but as it turns out it was an outdoor shower by the pool and you had to dry your hair in the lobby.

All that said, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Looking for end October. Are most pubs and restaurants closed down? Weather ?
Answer from Richardom

Hi I didn't go in October I went start of may but it's quite a popular place to go for that time of year there are less crowds so you can see the sights better. Bars & restaurants will be open but its not got the hustle and bustle of a major resort. You can gey buses to the hotshots like Oia. The weather should be okay 20 to 22 . Take a jacket for night time.

The hotel does not. They are about a two minute walk from the beach. We bought drinks from a restaurant and they let us use their chairs. If you walk down the beach you can find an open area where you do not have to pay.
