We first went in 2017, 2 adults and 3 kids, and decided to return again for 10 nights. We were there 6th Aug to 16th Aug this year. Again we stayed in an interconnecting double family room, which are great for larger families. We stayed Half Board. Reason we went back was due to the activities for everyone, the service from the staff, the hotel itself, and the amazing foods. So lets start with the very few negatives... The hotel could do with a lick of paint in places. Not going to impact your holiday, but for 5 stars you would expect things to be highly maintained. There are quite a few tiles missing around and in the pool areas, again you expect these things to be kept on top of. Whilst for the adults the food was great, themed nights in the buffet (although moroccan, arabic, and Spanish all seemed the same with only a few slight differences), the kids food was not what we had experienced before. One example would be that one night the kids sections had onion rings, chips, and potato croquets. Other nights were better, but for kids, put pizza, burgers, nuggets, fish fingers on every night. I did find it strange they gave you free water in the morning, but in the evening it was paid for. There is no dress-code any more for the restaurants, so no longer require trousers and shirt. Not a problem for me, but did expect to see people in vests and flip-flops for evening meal. Now for the positives...and there are probably too many to mention but here goes.... The Staff....wow!! You literally cannot find better staff anywhere. To shout out to two of them, Tom, and Alex. Both were exceptional, as well as Damian, Olga, and Shalina. The amount of effort they put into making everyones stay exceptional was amazing. The entertainment for the kids was better than any other hotel, there was always something to do, no matter what age, and the evening entertainment was superb. The location was superb, with a beach literally just out the back door, which we used most days. Rooms were looked after daily with really good cleaning and maid services. The Veranda Bar was great for lunch if you didn't want to venture out the hotel, the menu was fab, and lots for the kids to choose from too (wish they had that much choice in the evening too). Pools were great, never felt like they were overcrowded despite the hotel being full. Splash park for the younger kids if fantastic. Free towels to use on the beach or the pool, just ask for them at reception. There was always evening entertainment on in the Piano Bar, singers, musicians etc. Did we want to leave? No!! Would we go back again? Yes. But I wouldn't pay the same price again.…
We've stayed here a few times. The staff are great, very welcoming and nothing is a problem. The rooms are sizeable, the A/C and ceiling fans make for a great night's sleep and nice balcony views over the ocean. The pool areas are expansive with plenty of loungers available and activities right through the day and evening. Without a doubt the staff are the best thing about the hotel. The restaurant has plenty of options and we had no issues with service. Location on the beach is perfect. It is however a stretch to rate the hotel as five star, it's nowhere close. A solid four star is more like it. They would need to upgrade all the common areas, rooms, and menus to be even close, But it's FV, and the prices are not five star either, it's very affordable. For a family stay it's a good option for a few days before heading North.…
We (2 adults, 4 kids 13-18 yrs) really enjoyed our holiday at this Sheraton. We expected a real 5 star experience, but some items were less than expected; - we made reservations for a taxi for our trip back to the airport, a day before we left. I double checked the reservation the night before. The next morning the taxi wasnt there. It was really disappointing that the front desk manager blamed a new member of his front desk staff and the taxi company and only when I insisted escalted the issue with the taxi company. We nearly missed our flight because of this. This lack of ownership we encountered several times in the hotel. - this August week is probably peek season and personnel do what they can. However, one had to wait for 15 minutes for a cup of coffee in the morning; it seemed management was surprised about the amount of guests and was not prepared. - for a 5 star resort, one would expect e.g. a dress down service. The rooms are cleaned once a day.. No service at the pool side. No staff to reorganize the beds next to the pool during the day; people left their towels on their beds and hence blocked capacitiy. I had to call one at 2.30 AM to the reception to stop a very loud group on the outside terrace. Security handled the issue quickly, but one wonders how this can happen.. All if all a very nice resort, great views and decent rooms. However, a real 5 star resort would require management with more eye for details and ownership..…
We’ve just spent a week at this hotel as a family of 4 and had a fantastic time. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the other reviews questioning the 5 star rating of the Sheraton - as this is pretty much as good as it gets for a family holiday in Europe. Sure you can get higher levels of personal service at other hotels - but you’re really into the realms of high end adults only at that point. Front of house and customer relations are world class. The staff are superb. Pool is excellent. Never seemed particularly full. Kids had inflatables with no problems. The beach was great and you literally just need to step outside the hotel and you’re there. The kids had a great time in the surf. Food is fine. Good enough choice (we were half board); the hotel bar/cafe was fine for lunch and the restaurant on the jetty just outside was great value too. We had a junior suite which was great for us. Huge super king and 2 beds for the kids. Prices for drinks not extortionate (but reflective of 5 star venue). Small town 10 mins one way - not much there but worth a look; and shopping centre 5/10 mins the other way with a supermarket for snacks and drinks for the room. If I were being hypercritical the carpets and curtains are a bit worn in the corridors and there was a bit of a queue for food at peak times and there is no poolside drink service - but genuinely very minor issues and I’ve not yet been to a hotel that is absolutely perfect. This is as good a holiday and hotel that I’ve been to. Would definitely return. …
Overall nice resort experience with good spa services and nice pool area. Great breakfast but limited dining options at the time. Very clean but would need some maintenance in certain areas. Great and friendly service in all departments.
We have just returned from a week stay here - we are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children. Firstly, I would like to reiterate some of the comments made in other reviews, that this is not a 5 star hotel. We are well travelled and have stayed in many genuine 5 star properties - the Sheraton should be classified as a 4 star, at best. The rooms, public areas, including restaurants and pool area are tired and outdated. Furniture needs replacing in private and public areas. The air-conditioning in our room barely functioned, was old, and needed replacing. The pool sunloungers/tables were tatty and dirty. Not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. In respect of the food itself, it was mediocre, at best, with little choice for children. Despite being on a HB basis, we ate out on several occasions simply to get some variety, particularly for the children. Our biggest issue with this hotel is its housekeeping department and the attitude of the management in respect of the complaint we made. On several occasions we were without towels at all / the correct number of towels for us all. It's a basic thing to get right, yet it wasn't achieved. Moat concerning was the fact that our room was left open and unsecured (the door was propped on the latch) by housekeeping not once, but twice. This was particularly concerning for us, and we have never ever experienced this issue before. Despite reporting both incidents to management whilst in resort and them advising that they would investigate and get back to us, they did not. I also raised concerns during check out, which were met with a half hearted apology. Not good enough. Upon return to the UK, we submitted a formal complaint to Marriott about the clear security issues. We were advised management from the resort would contact us. They did, and again offered a half hearted apology and blamed "human error" for the incidents. You could use that excuse once, but any more than that is not human error, but in fact poor staff conduct and even poorer management supervision. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this hotel and would advise anyone considering doing so to consider what value they place on personal belongings etc. as this hotel has zero commitment to keeping its guests or their belongings safe. …
We absolutely love this hotel. We are currently still here staying in one of the garden rooms which is a few steps from the pool. Perfect for the kids who are nipping back to the room constantly. At first we thought we should have gone for a sea view room higher up but a few days in and we are so glad we have a ground floor room. All the staff have been SUPER friendly and can't do enough for us! The location is great, short walk to a supermarket if needed and a few other shops and restaurants. The beach we are located on is very pretty but as its quite windy here, we prefer to stay by the pool as the kids don't like the sand blowing in their face!! Would definitely come back again!....forgot to say, the bathroom and shower and walk in wardrobe is huge so great for families :-) You won't be disappointed! Also, some reviews say about the food letting it down??? Not sure where they were eating but we think there's a great variety for all appetites :-)…
Don't come here if you are expecting a luxury stay. Arrival, no porter to greet us or take our luggage. On check in, receptionist is pleasant, but clueless, wasnt able to provide the information we wanted. Porter was stressed and rushed. Impatient when asked questions. Wasnt given a map of hotel to know or way around. Wasnt shown to the room. You have to trek to reception to get new towels every day. (Old skool inconvienet concept l) No towels pool-side. Being told at 1pm there are no towels available waiting for resupply. Seems ludicrous, hotel isnt at full capacity. Food in the pool-side is slow and staff are rushed. Flies are getting annoying! Basically the resort is tired and outdated. Really needs modernising. The kids pool is saving the day!
The staff are amazing, so helpful, professional and friendly. The kids club is a great addition, the guys there do a great job and even do a disco every evening for the kids. The location is second to none, right next to the beach, not far from the town centre and the nearby shopping mall. The swimming pool area is pretty much perfect in size and layout. The TV had a very impressive selection of U.K. channels. There is a very good range of restaurants and facilities on site. But there are also a few things that let the hotel down. The main one for me was the ineffective air conditioning. It never seemed to cool the room down to the temperature you set on the thermostat. It was exceptionally humid in Fuerteventura during our stay, so I slept badly for the whole week. I tried opening the patio doors but this was an even worse alternative to the air conditioning. Another inconvenience was no USB sockets to charge phones, so make sure to bring several plug adapters for your various devices if you’re visiting from the UK. The rooms and corridors could do with some modernisation in general, it feels a bit dated although the communal areas such as the reception are stunning. The breakfast selection is ok but the choice felt very limited and repetitive after a couple of days. A wider range of foods would have been nicer. I stayed here previously 8 years ago and I was a little disappointed to see that one of the restaurants and one of the shops inside the hotel have since closed down in that time. This is likely down to the impact of covid, which is understandable. Overall it’s a good solid choice and you could do a lot worse when choosing a hotel in Caleta. I hope in future some of the issues I encountered can be addressed with some improvements from here, because it has the makings of a great 5 star hotel but currently I feel it falls a little short in those areas.…
The rooms are big, with big bathrooms and the area is very convenient, close to the airport and in front of the beach. Breakfast was good, with lots of choices. The very best of this Hotel was the service, a real 5 stars service. All the hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful at all times during our stay and they make you feel special and like at home. I would personally like to thank Tom, who really deserves a special mention here! Thanks! Totally recommended!
