Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with the location. The well-kept hotel complex, decorated with palm trees and flowering bushes, has several pools, around which plenty of sunbeds and beach beds. In front of the hotel there is a sandy beach protected by an artificial reef, other beaches - some with the possibility of windsurfing - can be reached via the waterfront in a few minutes on foot. Also within walking distance are several restaurants and bars, a small pleasure boat port and a shopping center.
The rooms are very spacious, as are the bathrooms with shower and bathtub, toilet and bidet. Plenty of space also has the large sheltered balcony, at our room overlooking the sea and the pool complex. Sofa and armchair, plenty of cupboard space, ironing board with iron, safe and minibar, and an electric kettle for making (free) powder coffee or tea are included. The only criticism: the mattresses were too soft for us personally.
The extensive breakfast buffet is served in the Los Arcos restaurant, and dinner is also available in buffet form for guests with half board. You can sit indoors, or in the mostly prevailing good weather here much nicer on the terrace. Alternatively, two à la carte restaurants are open in the evenings with a surcharge, El Faro with Spanish cuisine and Wok N Zen with Asian orientation. The quality of the food varies: There is nothing wrong with the breakfast, the buffet in the evening could convince us less, we really liked only the cold starters.
Better but qualitatively also very different and with a lot of air up was the quality in the two service restaurants. Who like us, and apparently many other guests, had booked half board de luxe, had to pay only the drinks extra as in the buffet restaurant. The prices are moderate. Considering the quality, the surcharges mentioned on the menus at El Faro and Wow N Zen are completely excessive and hardly appropriate for guests without a de luxe arrangement. The pool bar La Veranda is only open for lunch, where you can find salads, pizza and similar small items.
Very friendly - and this applies to the entire hotel - is the service. Spa and fitness, the mini golf course or the other sports facilities we have not used, therefore we cannot say anything about it.

The hotel is looking tired in some places and could do with some renovating but we did notice some carpets had been replaced so looks like things are getting done.
My only complaint and reason 4 stars and not 5 stars like my previous review is that there wasn’t much choice of children meals at dinner time, pasta bolognaise was the only option for 6 nights and on our last night they had chicken nuggets where as previously they had a miniature counter for the children to serve themselves with plenty more choice.
The family garden view rooms are spacious with a huge balcony (206) and the children’s pool heated to 27 degrees! Always able to get a sunbed around the pool at anytime during the day and a great location for walking, turn left out of the hotel onto the beach and you have the marina, don’t forget to feed the chipmunks or turn right and you have a shopping centre with a spar!
We loved the cold fruit water in reception to help yourselves when coming back to our room from the pool.
We visited the oasis wildlife park and a coach picks you up from outside the hotel every day except Mondays at 9:30am for €5pp return which was great!
Previously there were shows of an evening which we missed as only a singer each evening - which was still good! But having a mini disco for the children was much better of an evening after dinner in addition to waiting until 9:30pm for a singer to start.
We will return again for guaranteed sunshine, perfect location and a fantastic hotel.
On arrival no resort map given or information on pool towels and totally unorganised ~ we were asked to go back with our hotel voucher because they forgot to ask for it
The Wifi is a disgrace and is not fit for purpose ~ we visit third world countries where it is more reliable ~ it just needs a dozen boosters positioned around the hotel and it would be a different story
The Piano Bar is understaffed and we waited thirty minutes for a drink
Pigeons are a massive problem ~ other hotels use the 'birds of prey' man to eradicate the problem ~ droppings were on sunbeds and verandas and not cleaned ~ they are everywhere during breakfast outside and lunch
Sun loungers are not comfortable , old and no mattresses
The impression given in the advertising is that there is an indoor pool ~ there is but it is in a separate area carrying a surcharge of 25 Euros for up to four hours
The making up of our bed in the room was the most unusual experience we have had ~ pillows puffed up #top sheet straightened# bed made up with cushions# however the sheet you sleep on was completely untouched and remained in the state you left it in when you got up ~ this must save all of 30 seconds ~ crazy
The buffet was so understaffed and plates left for most of the duration of our meals ~ the crockery was chipped and dirty, it was embarrassing ~ on three separate occasions I had to ask for glasses to be replenished at the drinks counter ~ whilst this was happening a couple of managers ? were strolling round chatting to clients ~ their time would have been better utilised by giving a helping hand to the waiters and clearing a few tables
There will always be plenty of sunbeds around the resort because after speaking to many clients they are voting with their feet and not returning
The only reason my review had 2 star instead of 1 was because of the mini golf course which was challenging and well thought out ~ but that also looked as though it had never been brushed/cleaned for weeks
So disappointing and until Sheraton seriously address the issues ~ not just make polite comments ~ it will continue to deteriorate
Our room was large though dated, toiletries supplied in the room were poor quality and inadequate . No bed changing appeared to be available. The lighting in the room was poor.
The carpets in the hotel were threadbare and dirty, we didn’t see them hoovered once. Certain corridors are unlit as bulbs haven’t been replaced. Floor in bedroom filthy.
The drinks in the bar are expensive and the bar area has no atmosphere mainly because so few people drink there probably because of the prices.
The food in the buffet style restaurant was poor with little choice in the evenings, Fruit flys were also constantly around the food. Many times the tables weren’t laid up with cutlery and staff seemed disinterested. On one occasion my husband had to ask for 2 saucers and the waiter beckoned him over from the kitchen to fetch them himself , one of the saucers was filthy! The service in the restaurant was terrible from the cook to the waiters . We’ve never had customer service like it .
The grounds and pool area of the hotel are shabby, the sun beds dirty, uncomfortable and some broken. The pool area is also unlit even though lights are available along the path. We also experienced constant maintenance noise .
We didn’t use the spa has apparently there is a 25 euro charge.
The staff on the whole, apart from a few , are rude, disinterested and unkempt.
The animation team, though we didn’t participate, were polite, clean and very positive natured.
Upon check out we were served very abruptly by a male member of staff, upon checking our bill there was an error of 10 euros for playing crazy golf also donations to charity every time we purchased drinks ! We came here with such high expectations after reading reviews we were disappointed and disgusted, this hotel is certainly not 5 star .

It unfortunately then carried on going down hill.
The restaurant at night was very busy, very dated looking more like an old rustic restaurant. The servery was very badly laid out and food was what I would not call 5 star. A lot of the food was displayed at an ambient temperature and the hot food servery was very untidy.
Breakfast in the morning was awful (see photos). The bacon was served in clumps rather than rashers and the scrambled egg was either runny of cooked to death. There was only ever one chef doing omelettes and sometimes you waited ages just for them to start your omelette.
Although some staff were nice, majority were unfriendly and some looked scruffy. After I asked one member of staff for saucers for our cups he left them on a table near the coffee machine and expected me to fetch them. When I did one of the saucers had remains of food on it. Yuk.
The restaurant and food quality I would say was awful.
On the upside we did use our one allocated visit to the A La Carte restaurant which was very nice. But had we gone half an hour later we noticed a lot of people waiting a long time for food. Its as if the hotel hasn’t enough staff.
By the pool the sunbeds were very uncomfortable and a lot were broken and dirty. On the up side although we didn’t get involved in any activities the animation team were all nice and seemed to do a brilliant job. Always happy and motivated.
We witnessed the room being cleaned twice and it was literally done in ten minutes. My slippers at the end of one weeks stay were filthy on the soles (see photo). Normally in hotel you get a card to put on the bed if you want your sheets changing our bed wasn’t changed all week and no card either.
At check out we noticed we had been charged for mini golf which we never played and been charged 7 times for a charity donation that was also never mentioned. When the receptionist amended the bill he left it on the reception desk rather than bringing it back to his desk where I was sat. Like he couldn’t be bothered.
We’ve stayed in Tenerife a lot and recently Lanzarote and always receive a five star experience. We chose the Sheraton as it is known as an upmarket brand but I’m afraid it has put us off staying in Fuerteventura ever again. Definitely not 5 star and far from it.

This is a very spacious, clean and well maintained hotel. The grounds are lovely the pools are big. We NEVER once had an issue with sunbeds whatever time of day and often came back from the beach late morning to see 50+ available sunbeds. I’m not sure how this is the case but it makes such a difference! The kids (6 & 6) enjoyed the daily activities in the pool such as the running mat and inflatable slide and were also pleased they could use their own inflatable tyres in the pool. The proximity to the gorgeous beach is so handy. The water is mostly calm with golden sand and clear water.
The rooms are large and spacious with a huge bathroom area and large balcony. It’s a bit strange how you can almost see through into the next door balcony though. We had room 336 which had a stunning view. The rooms are also very clean and the maids are very helpful.
The restaurant is really pretty outside and very spread out, compared to some hotels where you feel on top on the next table. It felt so quiet. The waiters are all friendly and efficient. The food was very good and hot. The inside decor definitely needs updating and modernising.
The veranda bar was ok for a quick bite and for ice creams/beer around the pool.
The mini disco was loved by my kids and they enjoyed getting a lolly after each one. We didn’t use the kids club but the other kids around the pool seemed to enjoy this a lot.
We stayed half board and the Spar at the local shopping centre was handy for baguettes, drinks and snacks for the room.
The manager was frequently seen throughout the day and often said hello at breakfast time; it was good to know he was personally checking on the restaurant standards.
The staff in general are so friendly and cannot do enough for you.
The kids remembered Davide from a previous visit and he was so good to them, helping them with their Spanish etc. the animation team are all very friendly and funny too.
Overall, we had a brilliant family holiday which represented excellent value for money. On the way back to the airport we got the jet2 bus (but it is worth getting a taxi on the way to the hotel at least approx 18 euros before tip) and as we drove round the other hotels I can safely say there was not one that I would have stayed in- the Sheraton was far more superior!

This resort is located on the beautiful sandy beaches of Caleta de Fuste, 15 min. from the Airport, in a quiet and green area.
As a Titanium member of Marriott Bonvoy, I was upgraded to a huge sea view Junior Suite, with a beautiful terrace with sun loungers, a big bathroom with jacuzzi, king size confy bed, sofa and dinner table.
At check-in I got a voucher with 50% of discount for dinner buffet at Arcos restaurant, and 20% for dinner at other restaurants of the resort.
There are 4 outside pools, 2 of them heated, with sun loungers around (unfortunately, many guests occupy them in early morning by leaving towels on them, very disappointing behaviour).
I used the beautiful internal spa, an oasis of peace with heated pool, hydromassage, sauna, turkish bath, roman bath, showers and many other facilities.
Food and drinks at resort restaurants were very good, with a wide choice of plates and international cuisine.
In front of the hotel there are free sandy beaches, clean and quiet, where you can rent loungers and umbrellas before swimming in the clear waters of the ocean.
Staff is always smiling and professional, thank you so much to Michela, at guest relations, for helping me during the stay with a lot of advices and assistance.
Taxi to and from the airport is about 15€.
From the Sheraton you can easily walk to Caleta de Fuste shops, to Centro Comercial Atlantico (many shops and market) and to Las Salinas de Carmen with its museum.
I enjoyed this stay so much and I can't wait to go back at the Sheraton Fuerteventura!
Pool area very clean and nice to have heated pools. Lots of sunbeds, could do with shades around baby pool for all beds, on occasions there were no shades left and when you have young kids shade around the pool is essential. Lots of sunbed reserving going on and people not on beds for hrs at a time.
Rooms were clean and big enough, bath plug didn't fit well so had to keep topping water up for kids in bath. Walk in shower was nice but lacking in power. Nice balcony areas.
Having read other reviews on here we were looking forward to the food, we stayed half board. Breakfast was pretty standard that you get in half board/all inclusive hotels, selection of cereals, pastries, cooked breakfast, cakes, fruits etc
Evening meals were a bit of a let down to be honest, we have had far better choice in 4* hotels. There was a selection of seafood every night but you had to disect the prawns and crab etc so a little faffy, lots of Spanish ham, salami and cheese each night but no crackers to enjoy with the cheese. A childrens buffet is there but no notice to say what the food is (if not obvious) and i would not say a great selection, especially if fussy with their food. A good point was a chef will cook fresh meat and fish each night for you which is a nice touch, however one night my son had chicken breast and when I cut it up for him it was not cooked in the middle and was still raw 😱 luckily I noticed and he never ate it. The Asian night was the best choice.
Puddings - plenty of cakes, fruit each night with chocolate fountain too.
Beach is lovely and clear water, short walk to town centre about 15-20 mins stroll to the main areas.
Drinks and food in poolside bar are expensive, 3.5 euros for a small water i thinks excessive. Small beer was 4.5 euros and a glass of Sangria 8 Euros, Cocktails are 13 euros. Childrens chicken nuggets and chips was 12 euros. We often took a walk to the beach bars 10 mins stroll away and grabbed lunch there if needed as food quality better and much more reasonably priced.
Some negatives which i think let's this down and makes this not a 5* hotel in my opinion. Breakfast was busy in hotel, often tables not set up ready, lack of bowls and spoons around and glasses for juices. I asked a waiter one morning did he have some spoons and he gave me one and said that's it, I thought he was joking but he said that's all there is!
Childrens play area could do with some maintenance on it, stairs missing on climbing frame. Basketball court sections are coming up on floor creating trip hazard.
Stream around the hotel has a lot of algae in some areas making it look upkept.
Overall though we had a nice holiday and if we were to return would only stay bed and breakfast.
