Patio area was large with chairs and table and two private sun beds. There are also a suitable amount of sun beds near the pool, perfect if your patio is in the shade
The pool area and pool are exceptionally clean and the maintenance team do a fantastic job of keeping the grounds neat and tidy.
The bungalow is cleaned six out of seven days with fresh towels on those days and new sheets.
Wi-if is very good and safe costs €15 for the week and tv has English channels and also Air conditioning in the room
Pool side snack bar is open from 0900 - 2200 and is reasonably priced for food, drinks and take-away.
Fantastic complex and only five minutes from beach, supermarket and bars
Will definitely return
Brilliant apartments as always, 100% the best place to stay in Caleta. All 10 of us, Golf Trip lads didn't have one complaint. Big thankyou to Lynn & Tracey in the pool bar for keeping us fed & watered. Can't wait to return
Perfect location, reasonably priced, comfortable beds and a hot running powerful shower the rooms also come with a spacious seating area, fully equipped kitchen and a complimentary bottle of wine and water.
Talking to other guests people come back here time and time again.
You will not find a more convenient and reasonable place to stay. Enjoy and remember to get out and enjoy all Caleta has to offer!
there was a lot of returnees staying in the Castillo and it was nice everybody helping each other, the sunbeds were white plastics on our patio and someone who was leaving gave us a couple of mattresses, which we were very grateful for over the 3 weeks, we passed them on when we left.
The bungalow was very well planned out, it was so quiet on a night, we never heard anything for the time we were there the shower room was ok, and the kitchen was very well equipped for self caterers.
The Castillo is perfectly situated in Caleta De Fuste, only 5 min walk from the centre's bars/ restaurants, supermarkets. The beach is also a short walk away.
As i said this was our first visit and sure it will not be our last, we are looking out to return at some point!.
Bed comfy rooms clean and tidy looking like they could do with some TLC but we enjoyed our stay. Meals at on site cafe luvly dont be surprised by a wait for your food hard working staff doing their best and wait was worth it, Chicken and chips luvly as was curry and sausage and mash. However we eat out most nights and that is one of the things I would recommend about this complex. Its close to local bars and restraunts no more than 5 min walk to beach and beach restraunts and five mins to central bars restraunts and shops. We met numerous people who had been to castilla playa bungalows on several occasions and we will be joining them already booked for next year.
Only two comments for the owners if they read this,
1. I appreciate there are sun worshippers who want to bake in the sun but please provide all the bungalows with the same umbrellas and tables you provide for pool view bungalows it will be a real crowd pleaser if you do. We went with jet 2 holidays and they want to charge you £100 extra a week for a pool view. All you get is the noise (what little there was) and an umbrella and better table outside.
2. Provide some mattress (Wrong term I know) for the bungalow sun loungers. You will get more return customers by providing some shade and covers for sun loungers.
For those of you that don't get a pool view pop over to the store called china you can get a couple of sun lounger covers and a parasol at readonable prices.
I donated my umbrella to the pool life guard who was struggling with a tiny umbrella all day in 32 degrees.
Good price
Staff luvly
Peacefull
Close to local restraunts and bars and beach
Going back next year and would recommend to anyone looking for a quite pleasant location with a short walk to local facilities, its location is its defining feature.

Loved the bungalows, they have everything you need for a self catering holiday, although we didn't cook during our stay as there are lots of places to eat nearby.
Beds were comfortable, wifi works well and the sun loungers on the terrace are great, not the most comfortable but you can buy cushion pads from the China shop (people sometimes pass them on to other guests when they leave).
The staff and other guests are friendly, we honestly felt so chilled out here that we have already booked to come back next July.
The on site cafe bar was great, we ate breakfast there several times, the ladies that run it are fab.
When we arrived it was around 11pm as we had been delayed 2 and a half hours and there was a complimentary bottle of water and a bottle of red wine in the bungalow waiting for us, much appreciated.
Kitchen is equipped with washing up cloth, liquid and tea towel etc.
Towels changed regularly and bungalows although could use an update are scrupulously clean.
Storage was a little limited for two people staying 14 nights and although a sizeable wardrobe it lacked hangers. Many if not all drawers had faulty handles as did cupboard space. Place was in much need of decorating as the bottom half of the wall had chunks of plaster missing and looked s
Unsightly in the living room areas. This too could be said for the sofa which seemed a little old, m stained and burned with what looked a cigarette and outdated. Bathroom was again in need of some tlc as was just about functional.
Outside areas also in need of repair as were the raised beds missing chunks of masonry and posed a bit of a risk. Unfortunately there was no bar in the evenings which was a shame as this is always a good excuse to get to know other guests. Pool area seemed adequate although considering the amount of bungalows there were only 17 sun-loungers which were largely unwelcoming as just hard plastic as were the ones with each bungalow. We did purchase padding locally for around €15 each.
We thought the two women cooking and serving food during the day were friendly and welcoming as was our room maid whom we had most interaction with. Reception staff did little to acknowledge us when passing by and on leaving didn’t even engage with us on if we enjoyed our holiday/stay etc. little/zero small talk and off we went.
We don’t complain about these things as we’re on holiday and prefer to just enjoy ourselves in the resort which we did. Beaches were great promenade was ideal for walking and taking in the scenery although you have to keep your wits about you as there were many cyclists and e-scooters being their usual rule flouting pests.
Overall a quiet and relaxing holiday although as stated well find alternative accommodation for our next visit.
Overall we were very pleased with the accommodation however there were a couple of negatives.
The positives first-
We were in 106 which being on the edge of the complex was very private.
Spacious terrace with sunbeds, and table and chairs.
The bungalow was well equipped although very dated, bed was extremely comfortable and had a new mattress.also there was plenty of storage both in the bedroom and the living area.
Great location only a few minutes from the centre and the beach.
Bar and staff were absolutely fantastic , ate Sunday roast here and also breakfast on our last day both of which were top class and very reasonably priced as were the bar prices
Now the negatives-
The WiFi was extremely poor in and out all the time not what you expect in this day and age!, when we queried this on our first night the receptionist said it was because of clouds, not so as it was the same in completely clear skies. Very annoying when you're trying to watch a film on Netflix.
Unfortunately there was always an unpleasant smell in the bathroom presumably coming from the drains.
Maid service at our bungalow was every other day which seemed to differ from other reviews we read and the hotel website which said daily. Also during our 10 day stay the floors both inside and on the terrace were not swept or mopped once, cleaning seemed to consist of a a bit of bleach down the toilet and a wipe round the basin.

The cafe/bar is the real gem of this place and we had some excellent food here for a reasonable price. The two ladies behind the bar work very hard and do a fantastic job. A small breakfast was €4, toasties €4.5, main meals around €10. They do a Sunday Roast that looks very popular and I would advise pre-booking that. There's a happy hour between 3 and 6 where you can get a pint (Heineken or Fosters) for €2
The pool is quite small and was very quiet when we visited although I expect it would get quite busy over the summer period
Reception was closed when we arrived (I think it closes between 13:00 and 16:00) however you can collect your room key from the bar if you arrive between those times
Overall, we had a nice time and for the price we paid there was little to fault. If you were to go looking for problems, you will find them. Yes, the rooms need a bit of an update, yes you'll find a bit of paint flaking off here and there etc, but if you want a quiet break, close to the beach and resort centre (but far enough away from any noise etc) with a decent onsite bar for not a lot of money then you'd do well to find better
Useful things to know :
Rooms are cleaned on alternate days
Doors will semi-lock automatically. This is great for security but it’s incredibly easy to lock the key inside like I did ! The receptionist was very friendly and polite and gave us a replacement key so we could retrieve our key from inside . We then returned the replacement key to the reception desk .
You have to ask for the safe key at reception - a charge is payable locally ( €12 + €3 deposit for a week)
You have to ask for the WiFi code at reception
There are washing facilities down the steps.
There is usually a luggage trolley at reception for customer use.
