Me and my family have arrived home back home today 6/7/22 from this hotel, we spent a wonderful 10 days all inclusive and I have to say we enjoyed every minute of it. My 8 year old son loved the pool activities. Food as already been reviewed was a little bit repetitive but we never went hungry.....our room was spotless, paid for a Seaview room and well worth the money. Thank you so much san Jorge for some amazing memories ❤
Had a great time at this hotel staff were all very nice and helpful hotel was very clean The food was of a good standard and pently of choice Nice comfortable beds a large room etc, there was an hourly free bus from the hotel to a large modern shopping centre and a nearby beach as well as a marina with boat rides etc,With the hotel being on the sea front you can enjoy a lovely walk to the main beach, there are chipmunks wanting to be fed on the way lovely scenery, near the hotel there are some bars and restaurants 5 minutes walk away
We’re do I start, we arrived on the 17th of June rather late at night due to a delayed flight. After waiting a good 30 minutes in a queue to check in we then got told we need to go out of that reception and walk down the road to the other hotel for our room. Not ideal when you have 4 suitcases, 2 hand luggage a pram, 2 year old and 11 year old! Then when we finally struggled to get too our room there was no cot as previously requested. So we had to walk all the way back to get that sorted. The lady on reception was lovely though and sorted the issue straight away. She also helped us order pizza as it was very late and we had missed everything. So thank you to her she was great. One morning my son had an accident and split his lip on the balcony so when we cleaned him up we thought we would ask reception for a medic or some advice as the cut in his lip was deep and we was abit concerned. The reception lady was arrogant and rude ‘ No medic take to doctors and you will be charged fee’ Not one ounce of help or sympathy for my 2 year old. I think that’s a disgusting attitude to say it is a family hotel!! Rooms where great and spacious, beds are so comfy. The only annoyance is the little ants we kept getting in the kitchen. Food is absolutely awful, wouldn’t let a dog eat it to be honest. Could be so much better. Snack bar is hit and miss depending on who cooked. I ended up with a freezing hot dog one day. So with that said we ended up eating out every night pretty much for our 2 weeks stay which cost us an extra £2000+ not what should happen when you have already paid £2600 for the holiday it’s self. Drinks are too strong so make sure you get a vodka and an extra cola to mix them. Entertainment was abit boring, we had the same bloke singing the exact same songs on the karaoke nights which was rather annoying. The family fun day was great with the foam party. And my kids loved Pepe.…
Why any travel company would have this place on their books is beyond me. On arrival the receptionist was very blunt on the verge of being quite rude.Given the keys to the room I am told to go out of reception and down the road to the other part of the hotel. So pulling the 2 cases and cabin cases I head out again. You enter what was previously another reception area but with everything removed,it looked like a council tower block foyer. Used the lift which had a lose panel and call button hanging off. Finally got to the room which was on the second floor. The room itself is big,and we were on the end so at least we didn't have people walking past. First problem we encountered was loads of small ant things crawling over the worktops.During our stay this was something that cropped up a lot as cleaners used bleach to clean, but the ants came back within hours. Cupboard door was hanging off,not too much of a problem but it was hanging over the fridge door. The sofa had a nail sticking out of the seat which my wife scratched her leg on. After a while the bathroom became very smelly. We had to keep spraying deodorant and leave windows open wide. One of the beds kept moving, think it may have been on wheels, you had to be careful when getting into bed. Plus side was the comfort ,it was a comfortable mattress. Television was very poor, and picture was not very watchable, and the one in the bedroom never worked at all. On the balcony ,we overlooked the pool. It had a bit of a council estate feel with the building wrapping its Way around, with about 3 floors, the balconies, people walking round it.Everytime someone shouted it would echo throughout, and the advertising pictures are misleading as is much more enclosed than it looks.. The sunbeds are filthy,we never even went down,I wouldn't put my towels on it. Eating is no fun either,as you have to go to the hotel next door. You don't have your own table for the duration of hour stay so there's no knowing where housewives will eat.The one meal we had was barely warm, and the deserts looked dreadful. As we had brought euros with us we wanted to buy our drinks with cash but they won't allow it,you have to use a credit card !! We ate out all the time after that, thankfully there are a number of inexpensive places nearby. When you arrive at the hotel you either land up in the San Jorge or the Antigua suites,if you are in the latter, bring some earplugs,it really is very noisy. We met a couple who was on the same flight, and they had requested a move the same day they arrived !!. This hotel leaves so much to be desired, with a terrible ambience, uncaring staff etc. You only get what you pay for is true, however, booked via jet2 holidays I did expect a reasonable hotel for my money. We left after 4 days of what was a 14 day holiday after jet2 said they couldn't find alternative accommodation. The holiday cost me £1700 ,had I realised how bad the place was I would suggest the hotel is overpriced by a considerable sum. Don't waste your money !!…
We had booked a see view room. It was the largest balcony we have ever had and it looked directly to the sea which was just around 100 -200 feet away. No roads to cross. The hotel had pools at the front and in a central area. Both pools clean and well maintained. Our room was a suite, so we had a small kitchen area, as well as a lounge, balcony, bathroom and a decent size bedroom. The resort of Caleta de Fuste is a small but pleasant town within easy walking distance ( 5 mins). the nearest beach was about 20 mins walk away. The walk is very pleasant along the promenade as it is flat, next to the sea and occassional views of the Chipmonks that live on the rocks next to the sea. The entertainment for the kids was good, but we felt the adult evening entertainment was a bit of a let down. The restaurant was clean and efficient. The food did change each day, but breakfast was the same options every day. We were not all inclusive, so we had snacks in a local beach cafe or in the town. We hired a car from the local Hertz office and it was well worth it for the 3 days. We travelled to the north, where the sand dunes are, we travelled to the south where the more established towns are, with designer shops. We travelled east over the mountains ( steep drops-narrow roads) which was worth the experience. All in all, the hotel, the resort and the island generally, impressed us. It made us want to try other islands in the canaries, but we would also recommend this hotel.…
Arrived here Wednesday the 29th June early afternoon.on arrival receptionist was very stroppy as we didn’t have our booking reference to hand! On arriving in the room there was a horrible stench in the bathroom it smelt like a cesspit actually made me heave had to spray deodorant round to conceal the stench.there was a nail protruding out of the sofa bed very dangerous. No remote for the tv one bed moved across the room every time you moved. Then the kitchen area was occupied by loads of tiny bugs . We told the hotel who said they were ants and would get someone to sort them out (a quick spray round with bleach) only for them to reappear Sunbeds were filthy with green algae would not even consider lying on them. Went down for evening meal to what can only be described as a works canteen!! All that was on the table was a paper napkin and a knife and fork. Food was disgusting tepid and not a lot of selection and if you wanted a drink you could not pay with euros you had to pay via card!! We skipped breakfast Thursday morning we have spent the time on the balcony of the room Contacted tour operated who said there was no room available to change in to and no hotels nearby with vacancies . We decided to go home so booked a flight to go home on Saturday the 2nd supposed to be here until the 13th July so cost us another £200 to change flights and of course the price of the holiday no refund will be given. This is the worst hotel on every count and if I could leave no stars I would.two weeks ruined don’t bother going!!…
Just got back from a friends holiday, staying here. Great quick transfer. 2 lovely rooms overlooking the sea. Pools and sunbed areas cleaned every morning. Towels that were left on beds early hours were removed by staff as some guests didn’t use them until much later or didn’t even come back for them that day 👏. Rooms were spacious and clean. Food was delicious every day with plenty of choice. Staff were all so friendly and went out of their way for many guests. Entertainment is fairly basic but what we participated in, we enjoyed. Families looked like they enjoyed. Sandy beach is only 10 min walk. Would definitely stay here again
At last back to our favourite island. Have stayed at this hotel a few times prior to covid. Let me say be nice to the staff they too have had a difficult time. They are smiling friendly and helpful. As always smooth check in. Our room was in block 1 which is the San Jorge suites part. Block 2 is the Antigua suites side where reception is. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a beautiful Seaview. Room more than large enough for us a large bedroom and separate lounge area with sma kitchen area with microwave kettle and some crockery etc. Also a fridge. Bathroom OK with shower over bath. The main restaurant is located in the Antigua suites side. It's on the ground level and serves breakfast lunch and dinner. They have themed nights over 7 days i.e. Canadian Mexican Italian and international to name a few. Its a buffet style with plenty of choice for everyone. At lunch and dinner the staff will serves the drinks to your table. They are doing some maintenance in areas and have heard the pool in block 1 will be closed end of August till sometime in October this year. Not sure what they are doing. Please understand this place was originally built primarily for self catering and tbh it does need an upgrade. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the balcony doors and room doors need replacing. Having said this please still visit this hotel. There is a beautiful resort outside the hotel lovely marina and beaches. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the Costa Caleta area and it's nice to see it starting to recover. Also worth a visit is the salt museum just to the South of the resort. As I said everyone has struggled these last 2 years just enjoy your holiday and smile 😃 …
This was my second visit to caleta ( not the same hotel)but this hotel could do with some improvement. The rooms were kept clean , many towel changes and sheet changes. Tiny ants were definitely an issue , all over sinks each morning. The childrens entertainer Roberto was great, my grandson loved it when he was working. Evening entertainment was quizzes and karaoke with a couple of live music sessions thrown in. Fairly basic , could be boring. Room for entertainment a bit on the small side if hotel is fully occupied. Only one bar so always a long queue for drinks. Food in restaurant a bit repetitive, fish in sauce? , chicken in sauce? , pork in sauce? On different nights. Vegetarian options very limited, veggie burger , pasta with bland sauce and salad. As the hotel got busier the queues got longer meaning that by the time you sat down your food was cold - not that it was hot in the first place , tepid at the most. Staff in restaurant, these were good , kept tables clear - served drinks very efficiently. Reception staff were always very helpful. Checking in and out without issues. Sorting rooms for late checkouts and ordering taxis , all no problem.…
Different day, same food!! If you don't have it for lunch it will be there for dinner. Same fish in sauce (whatever that may be) every night, not many kids choices at all. Chicken nuggets or fish fingers. Was all inclusive, ended up having dinner out 5 nights out of the 7. Snack bar is OK, wouldn't hurt the staff to smile just now and again! Floors are super slippy around the pool when wet.. nearly slipped over a good handful of times. Our room had ant like bugs crawling over the bedside cabinets, TV cabinet and in the draws. The worst mistake you could do was leave a glass on the side without washing it out, if you left it, popped out and got back it would be full of them. My brother in law had a pair of genuine Ray Ban glasses stolen from their room as the hotel had to get a worker in to fix something in their room. When making the hotel aware, they come back and said it isn't their problem. I stayed here 6 years ago and had an amazing experience! I'm not sure what's happened but it's not the same anymore! Very disappointed!…
