The apartments in The Phoenician, managed by Broadbeach Holiday Apartments, are all privately owned so their configuration and quality is probably variable. We had probably the best apartment in Building 2, apartment 2909, a duel key apartment on the top ninth floor. As a duel key unit it has two separate apartments with a small, private entrance foyer, ideal for either a large family or to be shared by two families.

We booked the main apartment which was very spacious, nicely appointed and furnished. The main room was very comfortable and comprised a kitchen, dining and lounge area, with the latter having two large sofas and a mega-sized TV (Netflix provided.) There was a small laundry at the rear with a separate washing machine and dryer. The kitchen was very functional with all the electrical appliances you might need during your stay.

The bedroom was again quite spacious with a large comfortable bed. Whilst the bathroom was a bit small, it worked well and the water was hot and towels were thick.

There was a large balcony with sea views and what seemed like perpetual cooling breezes. The N-E aspect was perfect and overlooked a park and a very nocturnal scenic roundabout. The street below is full of bars and restaurants and Haveli Authentic Indian Cuisine, directly opposite is highly recommended. So with only a 200M walk to the beach and esplanade, there is nothing to fault, hence HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stayed here at room 2316 for 3 nights with my 2 kids. Coming from Perth, I have to pick a reasonably priced accommodation while not sacrificing location.
Phoenician delivered. The room was huge so as the living area (with a sofa bed). We didn't cook but the kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to prepare food. There's washing machine and a dryer with 2 packets of laundry liquid ready for use. I think all rooms have verandahs and ours is overlooking the middle courtyard which is absolutely nice.
Huge heated pool and free undercover parking is worth mentioning. The place might need some upgrading soon but everything is working as they should be. Every place is absolutely clean, particularly our room.
Restaurants, supermarket and bottleshop are all under 5 minute walk. The restaurant right outside of the main entrance has been our go to brekkly place, good selection and well priced.
Would definitely stay here again given the chance.

On arrival the room was average, needed a good facelift to bring it into this century. On closer inspection we found blood and other questionable stains on the bed sheets, snot on the shower wall, pubic hair in and around the bathrooms and beds, vomit splashes up the backsplash and sinks of bathrooms. Food crumbs over dining table and floor.
Looked like the previous occupants were schoolies and the place had been given the bare minimum cleanup. My family ended up sleeping on the sofa that night as I didn’t want my kids sleeping on the stains. Next day we informed front desk and asked for the manager to inspect what we had found. We were told there was no manager available so they sent the cleaner. Of course the cleaner defended their work and accused us of causing all of the mess that we found. We checked out after being shouted at by the cleaner and were never given a refund, about $1600 out of pocket. Zoom in on the photos to see better what we found.

We walked into our apartment and it was filthy. Hair, crumbs, dust - it looked like the apartment had not be touched in months.
I called reception to advise and they said housekeeping had gone home so there was nothing they could do, she said I was welcome to get the vacuum from the cupboard to help myself for now. I asked reception to come and have a look. A few minutes later there was knock on the door from someone who said she was a cleaner and that she was here to clean and she was the person that cleaned in the morning. I showed her around and advised that no, I dont want it cleaned now instead I went to reception to ask to be moved. I was crying, and was spoken to like I was being dramatic; there was not an ounce of empathy shown by the receptionist who I was speaking to. She said she couldnt move me to another room as there werent any left; so I said I wanted a refund. She said if you want a refund you have to leave now; so I did. Two young children and my husband, were told to leave immediately if we wanted a refund. We are thankful we found another hotel, but wow. Never again.
I spoke to a lovely couple in the lift who said unfortunately alot of the apartments are independently owned so they aren't always kept to a high standard.

Don’t usually leave reviews but just can’t let this one slide. Expected a Mountain View modern 1 bedroom like the pictures, didn’t get anything like this. There was no Mountain View, given an apartment on the 1st floor with old fashioned furniture and decor. The staff member even confirmed they don’t offer Mountain View rooms. Wasn’t impressed by this, as well as finding there was no toilet paper provided in the room and also open milk left in the fridge, questioning whether the room had actually been cleaned and inspected. Went back to reception to discuss this who did move us to a different room on the 9th floor. It was a 2 bedroom apartment and we were told if we did go in the 2nd room we’d be charged for this. This room was better but still unlike the pictures shown on Agoda. On check out, the staff even made a comment about us being the room movers which was odd and not welcoming. Location was spot on with lots of restaurants within a 2 minute or so walk. If it wasn’t for this, we’d have requested a full refund and moved to alternative accommodation. Ultimately we didn’t get what we paid for with this accommodation. It was completely different to what was shown in the pictures. They blamed the difference in pictures on the fact that we’d booked later. If that’s the case don’t advertise the room with those pictures. You can tell the hotel is old and they’ve obviously refurbished some rooms which they’ve used as the advertisement on Agoda etc. wouldn’t stay again.

We traveled back once again to the Phoenician for a 10 night stay (have stayed many times in the past) and once again liked the location and we are ok with the somewhat dated and not so clean rooms as the location is fantastic however on this recent trip we decided to raise some issues with the General Manager and I'm completely taken back by the lack of response (took just over a week to get a reply, nor did we even get a phone call to listen to our concerns . . .) and the quick dismissal of our concerns.
Main Concerns were :
1. the construction noise that starts at 6am every day (excluding Sunday) that we were not informed about however it wakes you up. Response to our concern "In relation to the construction noise, this is also beyond our control. Whilst we were not advised as to when such work was to commence, it has not seemed to impact our guests to any great extent with your complaint being the only one we have received." We would like to be aware that we will be woken up each day to loud construction or that a discounted rate (as with other hotels in the area) is now being offered.
2. the cockroaches that we need to regularly take care of and that other guest reviews make note of - this concern has been ignored by the Phoenician and the only comment we have received is "ah well that must have been a fun game of catch and kill, view it as extra activity for ya”.
3. Dishwasher not working, lights not working and having to re-wash all cutlery on arrival due to poor cleaning.

So as this is my first ever on-line complaint (only writing this after getting no actin from the resort) I just want potential customers to be very aware that you can have a great stay however if there are issues do not expect them to be resolved in a professional way at all. Also be very, very careful with the current construction (duration ~ 2 years) as this will impact on your enjoyment.

We stayed here from 29 May 2022 to 5 June 2022. Our first holiday in over 2 years.
Apartment was dusty, dirty and not cleaned properly.
Mentioned to the staff and was told that was one of there best rooms. They were not interested in coming up to view the apartment. The washing machine did not work only given 1 towel each, 1 hand towel and 1 face cloth to share. All plates, cups/mugs cutlery had to be washed before use. Light switches and door handles were filthy. Brown stuff by toilet roll holder (possibly poo) 🤢 They showed no interest in what I had to say just kept repeating it was one of their best rooms. I asked about moving to another apartment but they said that was not possible but we could pack up and move somewhere else. Why should I spend my holiday looking for somewhere else??? I purchased some antibacterial wipes and cleaned light switches door handles etc and spent very little time at the apartment, only slept there… bed was comfortable thank goodness.
I have since sent an email x 2 expressing our experience but have not heard back yet and no acknowledgement of receiving my emails. Not professional at all!
I have attached as many photos as I’m allowed, there are more.

After 7 years of loyalty staying at Phoenician for Country Festival we were so disappointed in room we were given... and also one king size bed.. after 7 years of a great relationship with staff and them knowing my friend and I always have 2 singles.. they say you didn't specify.. then put a trundle bed in lounge whilst paying almost $1000 for 1 bedroom for 3 nights.. the maintenance guy Nigel blatantly lied to manager about a conversation where he said manager will consider a refund for last 2 night's.. manager said no.. and said Nigel said we lied about it and made it up.. Honestly that is just disgusting service to loyal customers. Sorry but you have lost our business and also business of our friends who stayed in other apartments and also had issues. Not good enough and very disappointed 😕

Such a great place to stay the room was excellent and a very spacious one bedroom with everything you need . Plenty of restaurants and cafes directly under the building and you are right in the middle of Broadbeach with shopping centre and Surf Lifesaving Club within an easy walk . The light rail tram stops next to the building and only a short 50 metre approx walk . We have decided to return soon

To be Honest I got a sorry but that was about it. But when I thought about it and weight up all the convenience of where I was in relation to where I had to go to work and places to eat it wasn’t a big issue. So I did enjoy the stay
