The hotel has such an amazing courtyard with great rooms. Our palapa was super comfortable and the location cannot be adequately described. The beach is just outside the front door and it may be the most beautiful I have ever seen. The owner Dave is very accommodating. He helped make our stay comfortable with great advice and recommendations. He helped...

What a great place to unplug and unwind! David is a gracious host who will keep out of your way if that's what you desire. I found it to be a welcome retreat from the bustle of "downtown Barra" :) Just off the beach... you can wander down to the enramada on the beach... drink beer... eat seafood... snooze in...

Just a few kilometers up the road from Casa Frida, you will be transported into the modern world of high-tech, commercialized Mexican beach life. But why would you want to? Standing in the front of Casa Frida, you could probably throw a sand dollar and hit the Pacific Ocean. But first you'd have to clear the roofs of the restaurants...

My husband and I spent a week here. This place is great! David, the owner, came to the airport and picked us up when we arrived- the rest was smooth sailing! Barra is a very small town away from all the touristy areas- peaceful. Casa Frida is a relaxing place to stay not far from the beach. (There are also...

I came back for Memorial Day weekend and it was the perfect getaway. I was able to enjoy the beach and visit some Mesoamerican ruins near Petatlan. It was very relaxing in the swimming pool and there are plenty of seafood restaurants across the parking lot.

We are happy we choose to stay in Barra de Potosi at Casa Frida with David. He was such a great and generous host. He toured us around town and found us the best prices, good places to eat and even accompanied us to Zihuatanejo showing us the things we wanted to see. Buying local food; nuts, seeds, cheese at...

I had an amazing stay here back in July 2013. The hotel is located in Barra de Potosi, a small fishing village just outside Zihuatanejo. The owner picked us up at the airport and drove us in. Once there, we didn't have to worry about anything. The hotel is located on the beach. There are plenty of beachside restaurants to...

My husband and I stayed in the house at Casa Frida at the end of January 2012. We normally travel and stay in Zihuatanejo but our usual place was booked and we were looking for a week of just plain old relaxing. I found Casa Frida on the internet after looking at places in Troncones and in Barra de Potosi....

Casa Frida is a magic little place tucked away at the end of the road. Past all the luxury bungalows and the cheapo no-window motels, right in the heart of Barra de Potosi, you'll find this gem. Bohemian, love-filled and authentic, Casa Frida was a real pleasure to stay at. The pool is magical late at night with the low...

“The 'house' didn't appear to come with maid service. Tanya did change our sheets and towels mid week. The people staying in the bungalows said she did make up their beds. I am quite capable of making my bed and I did a little light housekeeping during the week, swept the floor and mopped the terrace twice and dumped our own garbage from the bathroom and kitchen but it would have been nice to some some light housekeeping. Wouldn't keep me from coming back, but I would not want to pay quite as much.”
