Went for a day out at Chatsworth and decided to go to the Devonshire arms for lunch since it was advertised as dog friendly in their bar . The bar is as good as many lounges I have been in and the staff were very friendly and welcoming . I don't understand the issue with parking as the staff quickly... More

The "double" room was very small although the bathroom was a decent size. No wardrobe & hanging area for clothes immediately above rage only place where the kettle could be plugged in. Holes in carpet barely concealed by furniture and general standard of cleanliness left something to be desired. Apart from towels being changed,it was obvious no other cleaning or... More

We had booked a 3 night stay at the Devonshire Arms so that we could enjoy visiting Chatsworth House which is only a mile walk through the beautiful Chatsworth Estate from the Inn. We were shown to Room 8 which at first seemed very pleasant - nice decor. The view from the room is horrendous - overlooks the bins and... More

Can't believe I paid £12 for 2 desserts which were supposed to be crumble and were actually small ramekins (mine was chipped!) with a spoonful of jam like fruit and a tiny sprinkling of crumble topping! Children's roast was also overpriced as shared veg with adults anyway (£9) Commented to staff who did nothing to try to resolve issues! Last... More

Booked a table well in advance. I went in and booked the car reg onto their system whilst my husband tried to park - impossible - had to park some distance away. There was a car full of folk picnicing out of the back of their own car and none of the staff seemed concerned they were using a space... More

In Baslow for a short break, walked past the Devonshire Arms, popped in for early dinner, great choice and value, staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Listen to the staff recommendations you won't be disappointed. Will definitely return.

I had dinner with my husband on 26th August. I got a parking fine of £100 just for parking my car in their car park!! Apparently you need to register your car. The staff had a number of opportunities to point this out but did not. I wonder how much this scam raises in revenue for them!!

Regular since the pub reopened. Parked to use Hatties cafe, 1 breakfast roll and a coffee later £65. £5 for the refreshments. £60 for the fine. Called in and emailed the owner no response. Appealed the fine, overruled. Paid the fine. No longer a regular!

We came here after visiting a wet Chatsworth county fair and just wanted somewhere to dry off and have a drink. We managed to get parked in the car park but the spaces are a bit tight, there's also a council run car park close by. On entering the restaurant it was clean and welcoming, we noticed it was also... Stopped here with husband and 2 sons whilst on holiday for Sunday lunch. Should have known really from the cool welcome. Anyway we were shown to a table. We ordered roast beef roast chicken and asked for 2 half sizes for our 14&11yr old sons. This was because we saw the price. Well it came out my husband asked for... More
