Just had a wonderful long weekend at Temuka Holiday Park, our third time there in as many years. So many things for the kids to do; swimming in the water holes in the river, tennis games, mini golf, heated swimming pool, quick 15 min trip to the beach, fresh fruit ice-creams, fishing in the river, coffee cart for the parents. The facilities are wonderful, never a queue to wash dishes, cook or use the laundry. A great kiwi camping experience with the benefit of a supermarket 3 min drive away. We'll be back!!
Arrived at Timaru top10 site to find it full of 'boy racers' and their noisy cars, music and language. Left after 30 minutes. Came to this site which was spacious, quiet, peaceful. Sat outside our motorhome and enjoyed a glass of wine in peace, absolute bliss. So if you are thinking of Timaru top10 go 15 minutes further up SH1 and check into Temuka, it's cheaper as well!
As Top10 members we really couldn’t be bothered driving into Timaru so we stayed here at the Temuka Holiday Park. Bathrooms were lovely and clean. Laundry was only open certain times which meant we could do any here as we were out and about during the day. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park which is hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Would quite happily stay here again.
What a gem of a campsite. We found this campsite by accident on one of the apps THL Roadtrip. A bit off the beaten track but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the space and peace. It is not a top notch campsite such at Top 10 or Kiwi but if you want a peaceful and spacious campsite at a very competitive rate then Temuka is well worth staying at. So much so that we stayed twice in our Roadtrip round the South Island and the staff were extremely helpful. Don’t tell everyone, keep it secret!!!!
We come here every year during Christmas - New Years, Las couple of years there has been changes in management and rules in this holiday park, but still great place to come to relax. The shower in newer block is way too hot for children, so we use the older block. $4 per washing which is a bit too much and site costs went up in 2018.
