Views from the 10th floor that will take some beating from anywhere in the world!Clean and staff were very helpful and energetic.Food was really good if a little repetitive -so it was a nice play to stay but.......My sense is they are trying to get every last cent from their clients-and I mean every last cent. Many examples-but I ended up waiting for the next bit of what I felt was sharp practice and it split it for me.Examples?Biscuits for sale in shop-marked 7.50(which is big price)-came up on bar code as 7.70-insisted on charging me 7.70!With vigour?Do u really want a row guys with clients who are spending a lot of money for 20 cents?Star gazing-$80 plus dollars a head(not cheap) -but if its cancelled(due to clouds) u have to go inside for an "educational hour"-really?I dont want to see stars videod on a roof guys-i want to see the real thing-but no refunds if u have booked!Outside cancelled 2 nights running we were there-and so it goes on-In the end I found myself getting ratty over 20 cents just because -Pity because I really dont think they need the money ...and in the end I was getting very grumpy-wouldst put u off going because it has many good qualities-but be ready!

Stayed here for our honeymoon and we LOVED the views! Our room had some of the best views I have seen in a while. The hotel was not too occupied as I recall. Getting vegetarian food was a challenge and there was nothing around for hours. We were caught a bit unaware on this front. However the overall trip was a good one!

This hotel charges 5 star prices and delivers 3 star value at best. This is because they have pretty much a monopoly. The carpets in room and hallways smell bad, furniture is horrible, and my bathroom had mold. Staff is attentive but that is about it. This hotel cost more than a top hotel in Queenstown, so I would not recommend staying there. Just do a day trip from Queenstown. It is really unacceptable to charge this prices for the value they provide. Please avoid it.

Stayed here in Feb, 2020. Expensive, but it was only place available when we booked 4 months in advance. Not many options available in Mt Cook village. Room was lovely, with a view to die for. Food options actually very limited and expensive, for such a big hotels. Didn't want an overpriced buffet, so went to one of other restaurants in town.

If you love tons of people, fast food that is tasteless, high prices this is the hotel for you. Only good thing about the place is the view. Cafeteria style food for breakfast and lunch. They have an upscale restaurant for dinner, but you will pay for it. Think Old Faithful at the height of tourist season.

We are sorry to hear suzieFortCollins that you may not have had the chance to fully experience everything that the Hermitage has to offer. We do indeed have various options for dining and with any choices, there is something we feel for everyone. Aoraki Mt Cook is one of the highlights for anyone visiting NZ, so you are correct in that summer time is quite popular. But we are hoping that you had a chance to explore, hike, visit the museum or enjoy the amazing surrounds of Mt Cook.
