The motel is very spacious, neat and comfortable. Stayed in Fairlie as Lake Tekapo is expensive and only 20 -25 minutes drive away.We arrived late in the evening and the lady at the reception advised us to visit Lake Tekapo on the same day as weather forecast was rainy for the following day. Luckily we took her advise and visited Tekapo...

We were hoping to book into accomodation at Tecapo but everything was booked out there so we started looking at nearby locations and found Aorangi on the web. We are so glad we did! Erin our host was extremely helpful and welcoming, our little unit was neat as a pin and after doing motels we were so pleased to have...

Lovely spacious motel room with two bedrooms. Fresh modern decoration in old style motel. Spotlessly clean ..soft fluffy towels ..well equipped kitchen with tea and coffee...much better standard than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. Lovely reception staff! Hope to visit again.

We arrived from Queens Town tired and weary and without accommodation and were so fortunate to find that the Aorangi motel had just had a cancellation. The young lady at reception was so lovely and helpful. Our unit was clean and the facilities great. I was able to catch up with laundry that had been mounting up for a day...

Fairlie is a small village and a convenient stop on our way to Queenstown from Christchurch. We had a lovely, clean, comfortable room, with a full kitchen, large comfortable bed, and separate bathroom. The friendly check-in person gave us a great dinner recommendation at the Red Stag (separate review). A great stopover away from all the busloads and crowds around the...

Fairlie may not be the most exciting place on earth - very handy for Mount Cook though and it is lucky that the Aorangi Motel sets a high standard for the town We enjoyed our dated but very spacious two bedroom unit in a pleasant location close to Fairlie's hub. The manager was very helpful when we requested a fan...

We agree with the good reviews- very spacious, clean, well-equipped, comfortable . The suite was huge. Beds were good. Kitchen was dated but clean. We did have some issues with hot water- it was more warm than hot; and there is no air conditioning which could be a problem in very hot weather. This is an older style Motel with...

Got the 2 bedrooms unit, good room, got the extra bed for the 5th person. The only downside the TV recruiting was out pretty bad. But that's nothing to do with the motel. I assume it was more of the location of Fairlie.

Had a 2 bedroom unit which was perfect for our family. Unit was spacious and comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped; beds were extremely comfortable. Great place to stay overnight after a long drive from Akaroa. Loved the single rose in vase on the coffee table.
