High in the Southern Alps, nestled amongst mountains and beech forest, is Arthur's Pass Village. A comfortable two hour drive from Christchurch, Arthur's Pass offers some of the best unspoilt hiking and scenery in New Zealand. The hiking/walking tracks vary from a one-hour walk up to the Punchbowl Falls, to a multi-day hike in the mountains.Arthur's Pass Alpine Motel, conveniently situated in the village, offers fantastic self contained Motel accommodation, complete with your own bathroom and kitchen. A recent upgrade has seen the installation of double glazed windows and doors to the majority of our units to increase warmth and decrease noise. We also offer free WIFI. Our warm, cosy cabins (some with gas fires) sleep 1-5 people. With a hotel and restaurant a short walk from our motel, it is the perfect location to base yourself for some leisurely walking and tramping, or a hike up to Avalanche Peak for a grand view of the Southern Alps. You can even meet some cheeky kea or listen to the kiwi call at night. Your hosts and owners, Pete and Fi Neale, have a wealth of knowledge about the area, having holidayed in the area for the past 40+ years.

Very comfortable and cosy unit with all necessary amenities. Owners were excellent and provided us with additional relevant information prior to our arrival, and local info for our walks etc. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived the hotel in the evening. The receptionist was nice and advised us where to go ( e.g. Authur's Pass Walking Track and Castle Hill) next morning. I would like to mention the location was fine for stargazing. But it was cold at night. Luckily that I was just across the road from the hotel to take the photo of stars. When I felt cold, I went back to the hotel to have hot drink.

HI, thanks for the review. There's plusses and minuses on a clear night in Arthur's Pass. The plus side being the amazing number of stars we can see. The minus side means the temperatures can drop a bit. Thankfully all our rooms are warm and cosy for our guests. Thanks for staying, Pete and Fi

Our stay with the Motel was excellent. The room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The room was compact and had everything in there that we needed. There was an email sent to us a week prior and gave us helpful tips that we needed to prepare. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations for nearby attractions . We could not ask for more . I would definitely recommended this place to others.

We took the Trans-Alpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth and sadly only stayed one night at this beautiful motel in Arthurs Pass. Everything of our visit from the beginning to the end was just amazing. The staff was super friendly, the cabins perfectly cleaned and really nicely equipped. We felt like home from the first second and even if it was a slightly stormy and rainy night it stayed perfectly warm and cozy inside the whole cabin. We only did one short walk to a at night lighted waterfall which was beautiful, but the area offers many nice hiking tracks and walks, together with this accomodation definitely worth to stay a few more days.
