At the end of the touristic part of the road along the water You find this hotel, so the location is real nice. Across the street is the sea. Most of the rooms have a balcony against the sea, choose one of those. But it is allowed to smoke on the balconies! I don't recommend dining in the restaurant. There are a lot of them with good seafood along the road.
Hotel single room the worst I have ever had..small and stifling and very compact..no room to move or nil view...bathroom could hardly move with shower very small. I asked for a room change and prepared to pay..was told hotel was full...but the GM made a very rude sexist remark about traveling alone..which is not worth repeating. It was totally unacceptable and uncalled for. I have been in the tourism industry for over 40 years and never met someone so over familiar and rude in dealing with a simple request. His comments were not pleasing to hear ....he spoke in a language I did not understand but it was repeated to me later ...if had known had that time what he had said he would have received a slap in his face!
We were 7 ladies in the age from 19 to 74 years, travelling from Sweden on a Holliday we really looked forward to. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful upon arrival when we didn’t received rooms close to each other, it was easily fixed a few hours later. The rooms are nice with a stunning spectacular view over the ocean. Never in my life have I become so happily surprised. The hotel pool is a bit small but the access to the beach is luxurious. A small stony beach with crisp blue water! Overall this was a fantastic stay and we will be back for sure. Thanks!!
Great location just off the main strip. The hotel is close to everything most importantly the beach. The hotel area, pool, and rooms are always clean. Wait staff and housekeepers are always friendly and engaging. The housekeepers greeted us more than the front desk (they need to have more enthusiastic people at the front desk or at least a hello when you walk into the hotel). The GM in previous years had been engaging and proactive with the guests. The GM is the same I might add. I barely got a hello back when I said dobro dan twice the first day I saw him. The times I did see him he was eating in the back of the dining area or drinking coffee on his phone. The food was beyond disappointing from breakfast through dinner. I felt like my family and I were eating food from a kids summer camp. Nothing really fresh or flavorful. The soups were awful specifically the lentil soup, you should never half puree lentils it causes a flavor that resembles burnt wood and ashes. Also last night's chicken noodle soup was poor quality and definitely from a bag or can bought in. Stop serving meatballs please the ones we got were served were freezer burned (one meatball was white in the middle) and tasteless. Also three tiny meatballs is not a portion size. Veal was very poor quality and lacked the tenderness you get with veal. Serve quality pork if veal is pricey. Deserts were another failure chocolate pudding without flavor or another night they just served a few plums for desert nothing else. I could go on and about the poor food but I won't. I would like to add this is not my first stay here and definitely not my family's first visit as we have been coming here for decades, even before it was a hotel. I would give my feedback to the GM face to face but judging by the way I had to drag a hello out of him I don't think he will be asking how my stay went. Checking out tomorrow and without some change we won't be checking in again next summer holiday.…
I have been coming to Podgora with my family for the last 20 years. The staff is amazing, all the cleaning crew, wait staff and the front desk personal. Ready to help and always friendly and smiling!! The only reason I'm giving it 2 🌟 is that for the first time ,in 20 years the chef needs help in that kitchen!! For the price you pay to stay here, you shouldn't be getting cheap, cafeteria canned style food. I hope they fix this because I really love this place and wanna see it do great!!!
Spent one week at the Sirena hotel and i cant recommend it! When we entered the room we were meet by a very strong smell of chlorine from the bathroom the stench lasted 2-3 days and was thereafter replaced by a smell of vomit....the refrigerator was hardly working. There was dirty patches on the walls, the fan in the bathroom was probably never cleaned...the door to the balcony couldnt be locked....the list goes on and on but what took the price was when we lost our roomkey on the beach (my bad and a small fee would have been accepteble) and they charged us 100 Euro!!!! And hade the nerve to give us attitude about it!!!!....when I paid the 100 euros I said "soo now you can change the lock" they didn't even reply.... Podgora on the whole was very nice and the location of the hotel is very good. I can strongly recommend going to Podgora and the Adriatic sea but avoid hotel Sirena. …
The hotel has a perfect location in the cute little village Podgora. The beach is just outside and you can in a few minutes walk to the harbor with all the restaurants and bars. Makarska is not too far away, and you can walk to Tucepi in half an hour. You have the mountain neraby for excursions or hikes. The breakfast is okey. The problem is that they do not refil. This is bad beacuse it shouldn't matter if you are there when they open or later, everything should be offered the whole time breakfast is being served. Check out time is very early, already at 10.00. The front desk staff was sometimes nice and helpful and sometimes they were not nice and ignored us even when we said hello. When we checked out and left they didn't say anything at all, not thank you and did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay. I will still recomend the hotel because of the perfect location!…
The hotel itself is ok the room was ok on arrival we had two wall lights not working also fill of dead insects so reported broken lights to reception was fixed same day but all the dead insects remained also dirty marks on the walls which they could clean of i spent .The plus with the room was a wonderful sea veiw and comfortable bed . Hotel staff bar and restaurant staff were nice and friendly the man on reception was also good but the female that eorkef on reception needs to go on a course of how to treat guest and how to smile . We found the man in charge very rude and did not seem to treat his staff with ant respect one day saw hin arguing with a cleaner she ended up in tears not something a guest she have to see .The breakfast was poor not much choice all the juice tasted like water as they were so weak the toasted did not work properly worse breakfast i have had .we choice to have half inclusive when we booked bad mistake it was the cheapest food they could find it include a desert example 1 day it was a slice of water melon then a bunch of grapes and another day a apple where our table was the lights was never on every evening we had to ask the staff in the end we gave up and when we was eating dinner we had to decide what we wanted for the next day rather then wait until we had finished our meal would not recommend this hotel.…
There is the table on facade this hotel saying it had been built in 1964 - and it still has this flaire, despite renovation. Still, it offers all modern amenities and its main advantage is crystally clear water and quiet surroundings. Funny little swimming pool in front, and lovely beach bar
The best terace in Podgora, 10 meters from sea. Great staff and hotel manager Ivo. Nice and clean rooms. We eat at restoran “a la carte”, nice steaks and fish. The best place for real vacation. Beach, pool terace and restoran was great.
