Yes I admit that the hotel is well in need of a face lift but for the money my stay here was absolutely brilliant. Some hotels say they are on the beach but are in fact 100's of metres away however not so here. The Podgorka is literally 5 metres from the nearest part of the beach!! We arrived really late due to a combination of a delayed flight and then our transfers were even later. After booking in the guy on reception then handed us a meal which the kitchen had put aside for us which just goes to show how good the staff are. The views from our room were ok to brilliant depending the direction you looked and we had a balcony/room. Yes it was out of the nineties with no air con but we were able to hire a fridge for 40 Kuna a day that meant we could have cold drinks when we wanted. Breakfasts were ok, standard Hot and Continental style but with salad, a little repetitive but the evening meals were ok to great and the menu changed daily with 3 mains options usually pork or beef, chicken and fish. All food was self service so really worth the money. But the evening meals don't come with free drinks although breakfasts do. View from the canteen balcony was stunning. The lifts are unusual as you have an outside hinged door but the car door is a standard sliding one. All in all really loved our stay.

This is a hotel that stated in the 70s. Literally. Well constructed for the time but now its completely out if date. Everything is old from the beds to the non closing fawcets, the missing plugs (either you watch tv or charge 1 phone), no air conditioning and a window that is in an enclosed balcony so you get no circulation at all. There's internet only in the lobby and in the rooms barely any roaming reception. The hotel parking (45 kunas a day, about 7 euros) is at the end of the strip, about 10 min away. At night the street is closed so arriving after 8 is a bad idea. Both breakfast and dinner are buffets but all very cheap ingredients. The good thing is that it is on the main beachfront, the beaches stretch for a few km both ways. Very crowded but very comfortable especially for families with children. The evenings are very loud in the whole area as they have music going in every bar and restaurant. So if you are not looking for a romantic escape or a special experience, this hotel is ok especially because its probably the cheapest one in the whole area considering the position.

I stayed in this hotel in June 2019 for a week. It was pretty full for a first half of June. Hotel is literally 10 meters from a beach. Personel are pretty friendly but most of them don't speak english at all. Furniture is like from 80s in communistic style of former Yugoslavia. Bathroom is pretty communistic too but not from the 80s but the 90s, no ventilation or window. Rooms have no fridges, no climatization, no ventilators. The restaurant has very good food and there is a lot to choose from. Wi-Fi in this hotel is pretty much a nightmare. It only works properly down in the reception. Pros: +Restaurant +Price +10 meters from a beach Cons: - Furniture - Bathroom - No fridge, climatization, ventilation - Poor wi-fi I would only advise Hotel Podgorka to people who don't want to spend much time inside and are more about the night life in Podgora which is very nice or about the beach and sea. Overall rating 3 out of 5.

Read reviews but thought there must be something positive you could say about this hotel. Well there is plenty of hot water and that is the only positive thing to be said. Tired rooms, dirty carpets furniture from the 70's knew it didn't have air con but did not matter as the door was broken and was open all the time but it meant it was very noisy. Beds were really hard and uncomfortable. Did not even bother to go down for breakfast after first morning as it was so bad. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, DON'T

One of the more tired hotels I have visited. The room didnt have aircon, no fridge, carpets, ancient furniture, tiny window, the balcony had more concrete around it than view... We asked to check out before 10am and didnt manage to sort it out until 13 so we ended paying for two nights. Very poor service.

Once of few advantages of this hotel is localization. Beach is near the hotel (about 10 meters). Additionally there are several pubs and restaurants along the way. Unfortunately for me it's all of advantages. This hotel need the renovation right now. Rooms are in very bad conditions, hotel also, old, slow lifts. The restaurant with old and used equipment. The last thing is food - reapetable and distasteful. I don't know if it was fresh beacuse it haden't taste. To sum up, hotel in bad conditions with distasteful food.

Do not expexct high class hotel. The owner has high class hotel 300 m far away name Medora Auri. Podgorka Hotel it is low class hotel. Hotel need permanent renovation. Bathrooms remember 80', are old and old fashioned. Furniture must be change. More of them are broken. Dining room is separated from hotel. Takes first floor where you may go to up stairs from lobby or outside promenade stairs. No air condition in hotel rooms. In apartment I find fridge. We have one day apartment but was so hot and small bed than we decide to change it for two rooms with singe bed. Rooms with sea view makes you happy but if you need silent to sleep it is impossible until 2 o'clock Then bars at promenade are closing. Drinks for dinner you must pay - in this standard?!. I think in this class hotel it is robbery. To much waitress in restaurant. But good cleaning room service. Summary: if you want to pay less and back to 80's it is hotel for you. Do not expect comfort, quality or attempt. Funny is information at hotel door "Walking in beachwear is prohibited" - EVERYONE GO. You may spend a week here, but to be honest this hotel is waiting for investment. Better for you is to find apartment. My Info: lift is unusual, parking is small and hotel cooperate with other parking places. Better choose bungalow or room without sea view if you wan to sleep well..

Do not get me wrong, this hotel is in a great location and has the beach right in front of it. We booked in purely because of their half board deal which was suiting our needs during our European Road trip. Positive points: Good value, buffet dinner and breakfast, free WiFi. Bad points: Paid parking (15KN per day), OLD furniture - our room needed refurbishment badly, NO Air Con - again this is ok for one or two days but for the whole week it can make life very unpleasant. NO fridge - although you can rent one from reception for a small fee. As seen in other reviews once they redecorate their rooms I am sure this will be one nice sea front hotel again.

The absolute worst hotel we ever stayed at! Old rooms, never fixed since the seventies. The only positive is the location, central and close o the sea. But still not worth it. The price is also high for this poo standard.
