Full marks to the gardener and the designer for the green areas and cool outside sitting spaces, somehow achieved in the centre of a busy town and with the noise of traffic excluded. Nice little pool too, adjacent to the excellent restaurant. Room is okay, but on the basis that most travellers have a suitcase or bag why not provide a simple collapsible trestle? And even a hook on the back of the door which would be a help when there Is no space for a wardrobe to be provided. Also, in spite of having made an advance booking, the front desk staff (all four of them) currently specialise in projecting a totally unsmiling welcome. Settling my account on departure took forever; the breakdown of the total was only provided on request, whereupon I discovered that someone else’s restaurant bill had been added to my account. That was the only time the receptionist broke into a smile – certainly no apology was forthcoming. This is politely called a staff training issue.

Great Location, Close to the super market and plaza de armas. They have plenty of rooms some with air conditioning and some without. The service was great and the restaurant was delicious.

This hotel simply ignores that there is a worldwide pandemic. The cleaning staff doesn’t wear masks, many of the clients either. Guests are talking to the reception staff without any protection and no one tells them to comply with the obligation to wear a mask even if the signeage is well displaced and mandatory.
We told the administrator who took note, apologized and reassured that measures will be taken. To no avail! Few hours later, coming back from our afternoon walk, again seeing guests talkings to the same reception staff without masks. These people must really think they are immortals!
So, if you don’t care either or really wish to experience the Covid-19 adventure just come here to be served!

This is our second stay here but we're not going back due to the horrible way they treated us and an employee of theirs at checkout. The personnel here went out of their way to accommodate us the last minute for a weeks stay and ensured we had what we needed at all times. At checkout, they calculated our price wrong (unknown to us) and confirmed twice by two persons all was settled. Later (we stayed for a few more hours) they realized they made a mistake and asked us to pay a difference. We disputed this and they looked at everything and realized they were at fault and told us we don't have to pay the difference as compensation for the inconvenience. Later, we were asked to pay again or an enployee of theirs had to pay from their salary... This is horrible, an employee here can get economically responsible for being serviceminded and loyal to ensure we'd come back. In the end, we payed up to save the employee from the punishment. They actually made sure we felt that it was us who punished the employee and not them. Worst experience at a hotel ever.

I was here for three days. I sat down in a hammock that wasn't tied properly and it fell with me. I landed on a big rock on my tail bone with great pain. The management was informed but not ONE SINGLE person ever apologized or asked how I was. Even when we checked out, the front desk was just borderline rude. I will be going back to Tarapoto but will NOT be staying here. A very poor way to run a business. They just don't care!!! I'm still having pains.

Good morning, thanks for writing to us, first of all to remind you that the hotel manager approached you after having a previous conversation with your wife. Your wife indicated that everything is fine and that even she had recommended that you not climb into that hammock because she saw something grappled for her weight and size. When you finished talking to your wife, you appeared and, laughing, told her that you are going to heal with a couple of beer ... the hotel manager remembers his case very well because he wanted to help him and, laughing, they chose to go to a bar. We hope you are sincere and that you do not say that you were not supported, once again thank you for your comment.

Great place to take photos but dont recommend it to stay here. The outdoor ambience is nice However, the rooms are outdated and small considering is a 3 stars hotel. Close to the main plaza but just around the corner from nightclubs (very noisy 7 nights a week)

Great garden setting very centrally located. Staff helpful. Rooms not the cleanest on my second stay (first stay no problem). Main problem is the incessantly loud music that can be heard while trying to sleep here.

But now two years forward they fell apart. The front desk lady is grumpy cannot great guests with a smile. For the three days we had stayed the internet worked maybe a few hours, the employees really don't care if it does or does not when you report it and the restaurant which was fantastic takes 45 to prepare salads or just to come back 30 minutes after you had ordered to tell you that dish you asked for is not available. Couple that with a breakfast bouffet that was mostly empty cold coffee no utensils and just a general lack of management. Or training - we will not come back and are sorry to see a nice place come down to providing such a mediocre experience. Take your business elsewhere.

I really loved "La Patarashca" for its unusual lodging ideas. Instead of just putting you in a hostel or hotel room, La patarashca gives you a big, green area where to stroll in the middle, with rooms surrounding it. The effect? You feel like you're in the middle of the jungle, even though you're in the heart of Tarapoto.
It's a great way to experience nature in the middle of the city. The rooms are really comfortable, but really, it's the whole concept of the place, that shines.The only thing missing, though, is a pool, which would've been great.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Tarapoto, but would rather try something different other that Hotel rooms (and you should!), give a try, you won't regret it.
It's a great way to experience nature in the middle of the city. The rooms are really comfortable, but really, it's the whole concept of the place, that shines.The only thing missing, though, is a pool, which would've been great.

Patarashca Hotel and Restaurant is about two blocks (200mts) from Tarapoto´s main square. If you check in the map you will see that Tarapoto or 'Taris' as we call it to abbreviate, is a small city. The airport is more or less 30 blocks from Patarashca, couple of blocks past the main square on an upward road from where the airport is.
How long that will take you? that depends on how you move around there, the usual 'taxi' will be a toc-toc or 'motocar' / 'mototaxi' as they call them in Perú (because the first where addapted motorbikes and usually worked as taxis). A toc-toc ride from the airport to Patarashca shouldnt be more than 3 soles -out of the airport- , inside the airport as usual drivers could ask much more, so if you don´t carry much luggage, even better if its just a backpack, you can walk out of the airport and have a toc-toc take you for just 3 soles to the most, which is the regular fair for farther places in town, when just moving around they will charge you 1.5 or 2 soles. It´s really cheap.

Si, la gran mayoría de nuestras habitaciones son equipadas con aire acondicionado y cerradas con ventanas de vidrio ahumado.
El tema de la limpieza fue mejorado desde los primeros comentarios sobre eso y seguimos escuchando cualquier sugerencia que nos permita brindar un mejor servicio a nuestros huéspedes.

"Ask for the 'new rooms', the A/C will allow you to have the windows and doors closed and have better sleep if nearby someone decides to have a party until dawn. Peruvian culture is somehow 'loud' so no hotel can promise you will have a silent sleep unless its really away from town, which makes it quite inconvenient when you want to wander around without being dependent on the hotel services"Read full review
