What an amazing level of service, on the same level with the most luxurious 5* service. Nothing was too much trouble and everything request was possible - prompt, courteous and caring service, amazing food, extremely friendly staff, attention to detail for children (not to mention a huge play area and fun swimming pool), fantastic wellness area, and the owner himself greeting us every evening and upon departure. What more is there to wish for from a family ski hotel? Perfect. Look forward to staying again next year.
I, my wife and our 7 years old daughter stayed in this hotel for 11 days at the end of August 2021. We stayed in a family superior suite, large enough but with only one toilet. The room and the public areas were very clean and well maintained. The breakfast and lunch gave us more of a "canteen" feeling rather than a high standard 5*S cuisine. The dinners were better presented but not very tasty. I may say, good wine (we tested only some kinds of rose), but very expensive compared with other 5 stars resorts in Tyrol. Very good service of the personnel and especially waiters who were very friendly, well trained and very good English speakers (special mention to Sandra and Thomas). Very good and interesting childcare at kids club. Also interesting outside activities with Pavol who also is dedicated for this job. In the evening no activities for kids (disco, playing games, shows…) so the majority of kids are running between tables or sleeping in the restaurant or small bar. The indoor sport activities, very early in the morning or during lunch. Not enough activities for adults in the evening, just live music sometimes. The service of the reception was very good. Overall, with some points to be improved (evening activities and entertainment, schedule of the sports activities, the restaurant menu), we keep nice memories about this hotel, being a nice, quiet and kids very friendly place. …
Schalber is classed as a luxury wellness hotel. In some parts they deliver on this, in other parts they don't. The good parts: - Service is great/excellent. Very attentive and happy to assist with pretty much anything. - Room size and great views if you are facing the mountains. - Good food, also have gluten-free options. - Kids fun area was able to entertain my children (aged 9 and 10) The not so good parts: - Several times housekeeping came into the room without knocking or when the do not disturb sign is on the door. - Cleanliness. Not everything is kept very clean and I didn't see the heavy-traffic areas (lifts, staircases, etc) being frequently cleaned. - No mask for staff. Probably not required but would have given extra reassurance to guests. - Swimming pools. Although there are many of them, they are spread all over and all are pretty small in size. The main family pool is actually quite small. - Lunch buffet is limited. If you order a la carte it means paying extra and not included in boarding. The hotel building is quite old, which is charming but also shows its age.…
Just returned from staying in Schalber. Instead of staying 5 days,as we planned in the beginning,we ended enjoying Schalber'hospitality for 2 weeks. Incredible place, incredible service made by wonderful, friendly and higly professional stuff. They really care about what you ask and need. Any of your question will be answered immediately. Attention to smallest details. They dont leave questions not answered. Even if you dont need more explanation they want to see you satisfaction. Absolutely wonderful people. Food is great. Quality and presentation are exeptional. Waitresses are caring, welcoming and hard working. Hard and honestly working goes to all Schalbers workers. Cleaning ladies are absolutely top -quiet, neat and nicely looking.(belonging to the reception). My daughter loved kids fun action area and Pavol who is doing a lot of activities with kids. Thank you Schalber for top hospitality, friendliness and all we could enjoy. We will be back!!!…
5 star service in an alpine setting. We loved our stay at the Schalber. Everything, food, architecture, decoration, staff, spa, etc was just great and worth every cent. The spa is really large, beautifully made, and the treatments very professional and relaxing. We also appreciated the extremely friendly and helpful attitude of the hotel staff, a real pleasure.
Visited twice this year and hopefully not the last time!! Great service and hospitality, fantastic food and wonderful surroundings. The Spa is rated as one of the very best in Europe! Their is nothing to add ! As Tina Turner sang: You are simply the BEST!
Spent 6 nights at this hotel. Serfaus is a very beautiful village made more so by the amount of snow recently and the week we stayed was also perfect weather. The hotel feels like a home with lots of lounges and areas to sit and relax. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Nice touches like the waiter at breakfast remembering our drinks order and having it ready tab the table ask soon as he saw us arrive for breakfast. this along with many other things made our stay very enjoyable. The spa area was impressive and very clean, gym staff very helpful and brand new equipment , the massages were superb. The meals in the evening constantly impressed. Each plate was a picture and beautifully cooked and presented. We have eaten at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and this is defiantly on a par with some. We have already decided we are going back next year same and probably each year after that. One of the best hotels / breaks we have had, and we have had our fair share...…
Probably one of the best alpine hotels in the Alps . Value for money. Not cheap but worth every cent! Excellent food. Friendly ambiance . Extensive wellness programs .complimentary high tea on afternoon . Am normally very critical but can’t find anything wrong about this place !!
If you are a fan of great food, superb service, multi optional spa and unbelievable atmosphere - this is one of the best hotels to be in the alps. Im having so much time every year in great hotels all over the world and definitely I will come back here!!! ❤️
Schalber is for sure the best choice in Serfaus. It spots a huge compound with several pools (including separate ones for children and adults), a big outdoor infinity pool in summer, and several terraces where you can always find a quiet spot to relax. The service is wonderful and very attentive. We had an Alpensuite type 4, which has a separate living room, The carpet and the furniture are of rustic style, a renovation would definitely enhance the experience. Yet, the rooms are very clean, the mountain view wonderful, and the beds very comfy. In summer, Schalber offers four meals a day, all of which are very nice. Especially the dinner is very creative, and has reasonable portions of nice food which are not monstrous as in other areas of Austria. Serfaus is a good place for hiking, the lifts are included in the hotel price and a lot of them operate also in summer. What we did not like as much is that there are many tourists on the mountain, it takes a bit of time and effort to escape from the crowds. However, for families with children the infrastructure with plenty of playgrounds and artificial lakes right by the lifts is perfect.…
