What an amazing place - located on a small hill south of Parma, away from the big cities. A quiet place to relax and to enjoy the wonderful food prepared by our lovely host host Lorella and served by her friendly and funny husband. The food is fresh prepared and you can chose every evening between different starters and main dishes.
You have to travel quite far to find another place with such amazing food and such a great hospitality. We have been there already three times, but I'm sure we'll come again.

The farmhouse has a splendid view.
upon entering we are greeted by the owner, a friendly, nice and truly very very kind man
The service therefore reflects the spectacular character of the owner.
The food is excellent, reminiscent of the flavors of lunches at grandma's house! Really generous portions and absolutely excellent prices.
A very pleasant discovery

I went to the restaurant with my family. The property is a renovated hillside farmhouse with a splendid view.
Well executed dishes.
Very good cured meats and excellent accompanying bread.
Different choices of both first and second courses. All dishes that respect tradition. Exquisite red wine!
Fair price considering the generous portions and quality.
What about the service? It feels like being at home, with family. Husband and wife very cordial and "easy going".
We will definitely be back

I stayed at this farm with my family in August. Fantastic room and breakfast, really good dinners and extremely friendly owners. Bravo! The surroundings are very beautiful: no crowds or summer heat. Highly recommended

We stayed at Il FIilare for two nights on our recent trip. It is in a beautiful location, the food was amazing and the family was friendly and welcoming. We had an opportunity to watch homemade pasta being made and we ate the finished products. We also enjoyed the homemade jams and liquors that were produced from the many berries grown on the farm. It was great getting to know the family and do some day trips in the local areas. Thank you for the hospitality!

We stayed at Il Filare for 2 nights a d loved every minute. Manuel, our host, is so warm and friendly. We had many great conversations with him and his parents. We took a cooking lesson with his mom and it was wonderful. She taught us not only several dishes to make but also the history of those dishes. They gave us great ideas for visiting the local areas- ones that we hadn't seen in our pre trip research. It's a beautiful place to stay with wonderful food. I do recommend following his instructions on the website, your GPS will not find it. I'd recommend staying here for any travelers looking for a relaxing, countryside stay.

A very small but absolutely amazing place. Located on the hills, with plenty of walking options around. The family running it are wonderful, and the cook is excellent. The fresh pastas were amazing, and they were very accommodating in terms of dietary restrictions and making sure we had everything we needed. They also offer half-board rate which is convenient if you don't want to drive out (it's a bit isolated) but the food is so good and diverse you don't mind. Highly recommend.

We spent two nights at this lovely Agriturismo. Manuel even gave us the choice of bedrooms, which was a bonus!
The Agriturismo is very close to Parma, which is ideal for visiting and sightseeing. Gabriele even organised a personal visit to a local Parma ham production factory. Lorella's cooking is amazing! You have to try it! She showcases the farms produce beautifully in her cooking.
I blogged about our visit here:

You really need SatNav for this one and TomTom does NOT recognise the address. Get the co-ordinates from their website and then it works. Lots of unmade roads round there but all passable easily. Roads are generally well surfaced but are twisty, steep but afford great views

Il Filare is a new building on an old site. Three or more spacious bedrooms, clean and well equipped. The son Manuel is there all day, and farms the fruit crops, makes wonderful bread and serves breakfast. Good coffee, great bread, basic fare. Then in the evening his parents , who have a business near Parma, come over and cook and serve supper, and at the weekends stay over and do more. Supper is therefore quite late (8.30 approx.) and is served outdoors in decent weather (which it was). Families with younger children should consider how this would work for them. No alternative source of food nearby; half board is frankly essential.

The food itself (a choice every night, and different from the previous night) is really good. Mother is a great cook. When they retire I imagine they will live there but that is speculation on my part. For now just enjoy great hosts and nice food

Manuel organised a private visit to a Parmesan cheese farm/factory nearby which was a truly great experience.

For a couple with a car it is a good base, near the mountains, super views. With young children I suggest you discuss with the owners (good English spoken).
