The hotel stay was really amazing. This is a family run budget hotel and very friendly staff. The staff goes out of the way to help you out and have a pleasant stay. The food served is very tasty. The rooms are clean and have good views. The bathroom is neat and clean with shower. They provide pickup and drop... More

We slouched in weary and worn after day 1 of the TMB. Hungry? No problem, we'll fix you something. Grab a hot bath and it'll be waiting in the garden. Need a lift to the shops? I'm going anyway, jump in. Lunch tomorrow? I'll make you a picnic. Lovely people and a comfy, hearty gite-cum-hotel. Perfect for walkers on a... More

Well - i didn't miss anything. The place was just more a scout hut than a hotel for my taste. Service was great, food was ok, it was relatively clean - well i wouldn't use the bathtop for other than shower. But the state and quality was too much diy - still in need of repair. Would i go there... More

I arrived at Le Gelinotte after a very long first day (due to a little misnavigaiton) of hiking the TMB. The owner could not have been more accommodating! She literally had to help me take my shoes off! The evening meal was one of the best on the entire trek. And the room has a lovely balcony that overlooks the... More

Stayed here with Exodus as part of the TMB. We walked in from the Col du Bonhomme and La Gelinotte was just what we wanted to see after a long day. Very welcoming staff, basic but clean rooms, great dinner and a large breakfast to start off the day the next morning. Would be a good place to stay if... More

This hotel has the most fantastic family atmosphere, and you can brush up on your French if you want to. The breakfasts are fantastic, and the dinners, if you can get the menu out of the chef, are fantastic. Wifi works in the bedrooms which is a bonus.

We stayed here on our first and last night of our TMB in July. The service is very good and welcoming, with decent broken English spoken, with our basic French we got along OK. The traditional style chalet is about 10 minutes walk from Les Contamines village centre - a very steep path! Our first night and last night rooms... More

This is a nice "chalet" in the excellent ski resort of Les Contamines. The hotel is more like a "pension" offering half or full board. Don't expect luxury here but the warm attendance by the owners and personal is undoubtedly there to enjoy. Prices are very democratic and make for value wintersports. Substantial rebates are available at the hotel on... More

My husband and I have just completed the TMB (over eight days). We both have to agree that this spot was the best along the way. Very simple lodgings but cosy atmosphere and clean. The service was friendly, warm and helpful. To top this place off though was the food, just brilliant. Different too from all the other lodgings along... More

La Gelinotte is a basic, but comfortable pension about a 15 minute walk outside the main part of Les Contamines. You can take just the room (about 54 E) or half-board (about 54 E per person). We stayed here as a stop on the Tour du Mt. Blanc, a hiking tour of the region (note - the other cheap option... More
