I visited in off season so it wasn't full. I attended the silent retreat next door. The hotel staff are very friendly. The grounds and rooms are kept clean. I stayed in a bungalow that was big enough for me, had everything I needed. Bed wasn't super comfortable but it was ok. The views are breathtaking.

Last year I stayed at Arigalan for almost three weeks and fell in love with my room and the view. This year I stayed again at Arigalan, this time for three months. It is a kind of simple, but beautiful property. I loved my Cabana and the ocean view. The terrace above my room was my favorite spot to hang... More

The hotel has an amazing view and location being on a cliff overlooking the location. It seems rather pricey for what it is, relatively old, and they have a great business serving the people in meditation retreat at the center next door. El hotel tiene vistas super padres, esta sobre un acantilado con la vista del mar. Parece bastante caro... More

I chose the Arigalan due to its close proximity to the Hridaya Yoga centre where I had signed up for a 3 day silent retreat. Here at the Arigalan I found much more than a place to stay, I discovered a little piece of paradise. The Arigalan, set atop a hill provided panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding terrain... This is physically closest to Hridaya Yoga. That's about it. The rooms are minimally furnished. Noisy AC in bungalows. There is a shared kitchen on site. Walking distance away, Mazunte and San Agustinillo are better choices if you'd like to be close to the ocean, restaurants, tiendas. If you stay at Arigalan expect to pay your full bill, in cash... I was blessed with the opportunity to stay at hotel Arigalan for one month while completing module one at neighboring Hridaya Yoga. Here I found the quiet, comfortable space I was seeking during my journey. Waking to the sunrise outside my door every morning was beyond beautiful along with the views provided from each level of the hotel. (Roof top... More

Rose and her staff are amazing in their attention to detail and kindness. They really go out of their way to do their best to make your stay a positive experience. And It truly comes from the heart. I stayed in the darkroom as well as in the regular rooms. The darkroom has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe... More

This is a quiet, lovely place with great views. The bungalows all have hammocks in front tho there isn't much privacy with people walking back and forth all the time. It's strange, though, that the bungalows are so ugly inside (hence 4 rather than 5 stars). I suppose most people spend their time outdoors but it's nice to retire in... More

I participated in a 10 day silent retreat at Hridaya Yoga next door to Arigalan and stayed at Arigalan for several nights afterwards. It was a really wonderful experience. Rose, the owner, was fantastic and extremely accommodating (even when I had to change my dates and room type a couple of times). I agree with others on here that the... More

I stayed almost one month at Hotel Arigalan and I loved it. It's placement on top of a hill gives you outstanding views of the sea in all directions. There are wonderful small sitting areas spread out everywhere so you can always find a charming place to be on your own. It's also far from the main road, which is... More
