We were looking for a 4 star hotel as a base to visit places like Battle Abbey. Full marks to the designers of the website for The Lodge. I should have realised before booking that it is a motel, not a hotel. As a motel, it's perfectly OK, so long as you don't mind the traffic noise from the busy... More

The staff were efficient and very friendly. They were very nice and helpful too. They must be SO bored with the endless complaints about the almost total lack of Internet and mobile phone connections.

Tried the restaurant and the décor was pleasant and the food acceptable. Nice loo and a fairly average menu. Quite traditional food but modern décor. Very clean. Wouldn't describe this as outstanding but a useful place to eat at a fair price.

Our second visit to The Lodge and the standard of cleanliness, comfort, and staff welcome was as good as ever. However, this time we were given a room on the ground floor near the road and it was not as nice as our previous room on the upper floor with a view to the countryside. As others have suggested, best... More

Me and a friend came for dinner at easter as was staying in camber and we was plesently suprised at how welcoming the staff was. The food was exellent and very resonably priced. My children entered the free Easter egg competion and my daughter won a Easter egg. She was very happy to receive a free egg in the post... More

We have been coming here for several years now and find the staff here very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and well priced. The food is excellent. Even though it has recently changed management I can't fault the service and response to my email booking our stay and even extending it.

This is a former motel and is in that style. We had a room behind the restaurant, away from the road, and it was beautifully quiet. It was not luxurious but had everything we needed, including wifi, and it was handy being able to park the car below the room. The window at the back overlooked a field full of... More

Just next to a fairly busy road, this little gem was easy to find. The countryside quite delightful and we enjoyed seeing the wild rabbits chasing around the field. The room quite delightful and staff friendly and helpful. I would be very happy to make a return visit and explore this area more .

The travel Lodge at Winchelsea takes some beating I can tell you. It's as good as any travel lodge anywhere. The beds are soft and bouncy. There's tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. There's even carpets on the floors. And it gets better... The travel Lodge at Winchelsea has valet parking and a free bar. Well,in fact it's... More
