Stayed for 3 nights in August with my family. This is a little gem on a motorway. The room was clean and comfy, with a view overlooking the beautiful farm and walking routes. We had full English breakfast, enjoyed the quality and taste of each item on the plate. Sunday carvery was a treat with great value for money. The... More

The staff were very friendly and made some vegetarian gravy specially. All the veg was well made, including the cauliflower cheese which a lot of carvery's don't do well. The meat was also top notch according to my friend. Desert was also great. Well pleased.

The first two times me and my friend went to this Lodge for Sunday lunch it was excellent. However, we have now been back twice and twice have been very disappointed. The meat is always cooked to perfection but we found That the rest of the meal is on the verge of cold. Although the vegetables are kept in a... More

I took five teenagers to stay at The Lodge before the Rye lawn Tennis tournament. We had two triple rooms which were immaculately clean & comfortable. The staff were very helpful & breakfast was plentiful & tasty. The night was extremely good value & I would definitely stay there again.

We were originally due to stay for a night at the Pontins resort in Camber but we left after 20 minutes as it was absolutely disgusting there. I searched for local hotels and found The Lodge in Winchelsea. Made the booking and drove down. We were warmly greeted by an older man who had some trouble finding our booking on... More

Went for our anniversary and they offered complimentary full English breakfasts. Rooms are spacious with fantastic location. Will stay here often when passing through! The B&B has character and charm within easy reach of rye harbor and camber sands.

Went here for a wedding last weekend. The motel beside the A259,(which can get very busy) sits off it a little bit. The room we had was very clean, But it had 3 steps in the room up to the beds or down to the bathroom. As we were here for a wedding (which was very good) I made sure... More

Very nice and quiet place in the middle of nowhere (make sure you have a car or arranged cab) surrounded by pastures with sheep's - very idelic. Not far from Camber Sands and Rye, very short walk from Winchelsea. Not much to do, but as a nice peaceful retreat in country it is ideal

Right on the edge of Winchelsea, the motel is in a rural location with rooms at the back overlooking green fields grazed by lambs and rabbits. If you are feeling reasonably fit, you can even walk to Winchelsea over the fields via the public footpath. This is my 5th visit to the Lodge and I can recommend it at this... More

We were looking for a 4 star hotel as a base to visit places like Battle Abbey. Full marks to the designers of the website for The Lodge. I should have realised before booking that it is a motel, not a hotel. As a motel, it's perfectly OK, so long as you don't mind the traffic noise from the busy... More
