We booked a table over a month ago and specifically requested a table in the conservatory as we find some of the other spaces lack atmosphere and can be slightly dingy. This morning I had a call to confirm my table and I was told we would be seated in the ‘Victorian room’, after I asked why my request had been ignored an explanation could not be provided. I then said we would think about it and called back, when I called back the person I spoke to, Holly, seemed like she couldn’t care less that we would be cancelling our table and made no effort whatsoever to try and accommodate us. Very disappointed as we have had many lovely meals here previously, but I doubt we will be rushing back now unfortunately.

Good Afternoon Natalie, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We are disappointed to hear your review today as this is not our usual style. As explained on the phone our booking system automatically allocates our guests to a table, and we then go into the system manually to review guest requests and try our best to accommodate where possible. Requests on the system are just requests and we unfortunately can't always accommodate them with the high number of bookings we have coming through. With the weather being as nice as it is today, we would have assumed that most our indoor bookings would have relocated to an outdoor table, meaning that space in the conservatory would have become available and we could therefore fulfil your request. I apologise if this wasn't made clear to you on the phone when you originally called. We do hope we'll see you again soon in the near future so we can restore your faith in us. Kindest Regards Holly

First visit to The Farmhouse and will definitely return. Originally booked to sit inside but couldn’t resist the invitation of sitting in the garden. Due to social distancing the tables outside meant you weren’t on top of each other. Menu good selection, tempura oysters with chilli sauce delicious. We had the fish of the day and the pork both really good. Cheese board was ample for sharing. Waitresses could be overheard, recommending dishes and giving lots of info, how good is that. Only criticism would be the wine took a while to arrive, appeared whilst eating the main course, having had a gin and tonic to start, would have expected the wine to arrive in time for the main course.

Something for everyone and such a pretty place to visit. The food is always outstanding as are the staff. I think most people would find it hard to find any fault whatsoever. Always a seasonal menu on with produce sourced or grown locally. I would eat here on a weekly basis if my purse allowed me to do so.

We enjoyed the stay like a fish loves fish food. The rooms were spotless and cosy with decoration of the highest order. We had a great shower. The grounds and buildings were second to none. A ln awesome experience. We set off with expectations of grandeur and by Joan did Redcoats deliver. The food was smashing and we enjoyed every last morsel. The taste of the breakfast sausage was tantalising to the tongue and alongside the innovative hash brown, a real centre forward partnership was formed. It was like Defoe and crouch in their prime. The cosy atmosphere and relaxed ambience reminded me of my days out under the stars by the campfire. Redcoats was excellent value for money. Everything was premier but the price. Truly, one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had and would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time. Mega.

My family and I enjoyed a lovely breakfast celebrating my son’s 18th birthday. The food was delicious and the setting is beautiful. Great service and a fantastic atmosphere. Good choice of vegetarian options.
