My family were in the area on holiday and found the Mid Wales Inn, what a brilliant place! Tracey and Sean are so friendly and nice, having gone into the bar for only a couple of nights, it felt like we had been going for years, all of the local regulars were really friendly and helpful when planning our activities, particularly Sam.
The drinks are well priced, as is the food, there are different themed nights where you get a drink with whichever themed food night it is for a fixed price. The meals are really nice, home cooked fare. You are able to pay by card and there is free Wi-Fi.
I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the Mid Wales Inn.

We were staying in a cottage across the road (green cottage) in October and popped in here for food on our first night!
We found the staff to be friendly and the chef even cut the skin off some sausages for our youngest eater.
Food was of good standard with plenty of choice.
We ate here three times in total during our week stay!
We popped in everyday for a quick drink after being out walking and sightseeing all day! We even enjoyed one of the staff’s 40th birthday celebrations-with a slice of cake!
The locals are very very friendly and we got chatting with a lovely local farmer “little Brian” great bloke and he would ask us how our day had been and even gave us advice on where to visit!
We will definitely be returning to stay in Pant Y Dwr again and will definitely be returning here for a pint!
Also to note, it is dog friendly and they have a wood burning stove and a pool table and a dart board!
A big thanks to Shaun, Tracy and Sam and to the locals who made us feel welcome

What a wonderful place to stay. The Landlords Tracey and Sean made us feel very welcome and are very friendly and sociable. The meal was beautiful and well presented and all produce is local - the breakfast was also delicious. Excellent value and we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.

We stayed for one night and had an evening meal in the bar. We also had breakfast the next day. Our room was comfortable. We were unable locate coffee in the room basket facilities although Tea sachets could be located on the landing along with milk pots. We failed to locate an air dryer in any location in our room. The evening meal was good. The hosts were friendly and well spirited. The breakfast was a little unorganised. Parking was available on a the gravel surface alongside the pub. Although located next to a main road noise was not a problem. Perhaps a shortage of fuel around the country helped with less traffic. Pets are permitted. It was an interesting experience. We probably would not stay again.

From the moment we arrived at this lovely 18th century pub we were made to feel welcome by the very hospitable owners Sean and Tracey which continued throughout our stay. Added bonus as soon as we got there we managed to have a drink by the roaring log burner. Our room was really cosy and the breakfasts were lovely and plentiful. We also met the local legendary farmer giles, sorry Brian who regaled us with his tales and was excellent company on both nights we were there. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Tracey and Sean were very friendly in spite of us having to change the booking. The cooked breakfast was good but too big for us but there was no problem in changing to cereal and toast for the other day. The locals were also friendly and seemed keen to find out what we were doing and where we came from. Gave us some driving tips as the road into Rhayader was closed when we arrived. A good weekend

Had a fabulous 2 night stay here. Room clean, bed comfy. Tracey and Shaun were the perfect hosts, they couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. Plenty of room for parking. The bar is closed until 5pm but this suited us as we were out all day sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Well what can I say, what amazing hosts. Made to feel at home from the minute you arrive until the minute you leave, nothing is to much trouble. Hospitality, food, locals, all first class. Totally dog friendly, our dog enjoyed as much as we did. Will definately visit again, and we will bring you some Evans pies. Thank you Tracey & Sean.

Easy parking in rural, picturesque area. Evening meal choices limited and took over an hour to arrive on the table. Staff were friendly and it’s obviously a favourite place for locals. Room was cold, especially the bathroom, so take slippers! I wore a jumper in bed. Breakfast was ok but not particularly tasty. The whole place could have been cleaner.

Called here after being out mountain biking all day in the Elan Valley with mates.
Fantastic food, loads of local beers, great service and all in beautiful part of the countryside.
Check out the double-stack burger in the photo, fantastic. A mate had steak that was cooked to perfection. Extremely high food standard.
This all came in very very reasonably priced too. Winning!
My new fave pub in Wales.

I have a car park which has never had any problems, most motorcycles are parked in the car park, but if you are worried we can put bikes in the garden behind a gate
