Somebody please tell me why I had to pay £50 to stay in this hovel? Looks pretty on the outside & we had a view of the pretty abbey are the only nice things I can say about this place. It was horrible. Like a scene from The Shining our room was at the end of a dank dismal corridor... More

Stayed for one night. Hotel is situated in centre of town right next to the beautiful Selby Abbey. Hotel building is traditional town centre inn and quite pretty. Inside the hotel has definitely seen better days - very run down and in a bad state of repair. The rooms are quite spacious but again in a bad state of decor.... More

We had a family partt over in Pocklington, but due to a wedding in that area and us booking last minute there were no vacancies anywhere apart from this hotel in Selby. It was only 20 mins from the Party so we booked 2 rooms. I then made the mistake of checking the reviews on here and realised I had... More

Myself, ,my partner and two of our friends stayed here for one night as we were attending a friend's 50th birthday party in Selby. We were reading the reviews on the drive up and were fearing the worst. We asked to see the rooms before paying due to this as if it was as bad as the reviews made out... More

A group of us stayed here for a friends 50th . Rooms very tired and floors creaked like mad , main kitchen duct fan right outside our window , very noisy. Window would not lock properly. Ok for a drunken nights stay but no longer than one night . Needs updating terribly

This big old hotel is in a great location on the Market next door to the splendid Abbey and only 5-10 minutes walk from the station. As it was gone 10pm on a Saturday night it was good and lively in the pub downstairs when we arrived. The room we had faced out over the market place and was large... More
