One of those automatically relaxing places. Good rooms, decent food, reasonable service. The caveat being ¨when it´s not too busy¨ . it only takes a small increase in numbers to mean that you´ll never get hold of a jacuzzi, you will struggle to get pool side loungers, you won´t get a table for dinner unless you reserve. Service suffers on Friday when the weekend break crowds arrive. Tip: If you are half board, have hotel breakfast and lunch and then get a taxi for R$10 (fixed amount) and have dinner in Cambuco. Plenty of options. Good attempts at Covid measures, which perhaps also keeps the numbers down and the service good. It makes me think that if the place was full then service would be terrible. In these covid times, service was generally good. Staff do need more training though especially housekeeping and how to make a bed (!) Families, don´t bother with the kids club. The hotel/resort is small that the kids will never be far away and will make frends easily. Drinks tip: Excellent Moscow Mule. Food tip: Anything local fish. Clearly the chef speciality. The kitchen does good meat dishes but excels at fish. Which is unusual for Brazil. Check in - quite easy when no queue. Excellent beach area with soft sand. Don´t worry too much about wind here. it´s a bit windy on the beach, but this has clearly been taken into consideration with the design of the hotel and resort complex. Almost zero wind by the pool or anywhere else in the resort. Clean and modern rooms, powerful and quiet a/c Super relaxing, good pool, good staff, great environment, good food & drink. Just migt be a bit of a pain when it´s busy.

We stayed in Carmel Cumbuco is luxurious hotel take care protect the health and safety of the guests and employees that were willing to come in and work excellence. I loved beautiful design and decor, has a beach vibes yet luxurious feel to it, we appreciated sunsets are awesome with private jacuzzi, champagne to relax time. In the days that followed, my family enjoyed a lot the best moments. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and the kids had a lot fun, extremely comfortable and very clean room. A beautiful hotel surrounded by wonderful staff were very approachable and helpful. The location was perfect and oceanfront view a little piece of paradise, lots to do. Breakfast was really generous and variety additionally my kids played at the pool and we shared our time with KiteSurf adventure and Romantic dinners, great food, spa, massage and jacuzzi to relax time. It was a lovely surprise when they left a birthday's cake in the room thinking hotel with exceptional attention to detail. I would definitely stay again. The attend was awesome , thank you Olivio Lima.

Almost two hours to do the check-in. Slow service and horrible reservation service. I emailed the reservation service to hire a shuttle from the airport but I never received an answer. Once I arrived I tried to get the Half Board package but the hotel receptionist refused to accept it. The excuses were all non-convincing: a) First, they claimed that I should have booked directly with Expedia. That was not true; I called Expedia and they informed me that the hotel can offer it if they really want; b) Second, they claimed that the hotel does not offer such a package. This was not true either. Other guests had that package and you can easily found it through internet; c) Finally, they offered me to talk to the manager and try to solve it. After two hours waiting for the manager he did not even show up and refused to even to talk to me. Never saw such a bad reception service in any hotel (not even in a pension or B&B). The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are small and with no bath tub. For a family with two small kids the bathrooms are inconvenient. Finally, two more remarks: 1) WiFi in my room in the 3rd floor does not work. Big concern if, like me, you combine pleasure with business in your family trips; 2) the front door of the wardrobe got stranded five minutes after setting up the room. What a horrible first day after a long long trip from Europe!!!!!

Good resort. Good location (taxi to center is cheap 2 minutes Uber drive). Like 10 waterfront jacuzzi's, free to use. All very good. EXCEPT! The food..! The food is just terrible for non-brazilian guests. Since you are not in the center you eat a lot on the resort. A few example of why the food was terrible for us: no orange juice at breakfast (just some things like coconut water), pizza was doughy with almost raw and soft crust, fries are undercooked and mushy, the burger is like 40cm of (again doughy and undercooked) bread and 0.5cm burger. We also ate at 6 restaurants in the center and they all served way better food. Please do something about this because apart from this, the resort is just perfect!!

We came here because my husband wanted to kitesurfing, Carmel is the only resort at Cumbuco and the best option here! The hotel is beautiful but it is not worth the price, there are much better beach resort options in Brazil. Service is very good (despite the terrible reservation service) the room is big enough but the bathroom is very small specially the shower, choose the rooms by the pool so it is much easier to walk in and out with the kids. We hired a Babysitter at the hotel called Natasha she was amazing. The breakfast could be improved, they do not serve coffee or milk at the tables and you even need to get your own cutlery and napkins. The food is good but pricey, I loved that it arrives very fast! WARNING: There are many mosquitoes here so come prepared with repellent, after bite and sprays.
