Some hotels have a spa, and some spa’s have a hotel. Here there is too much emphasis on the spa. Although theoretically in a beautiful location, the entrance requires a 4x4 due to poor road surface, the parking lot is not very spacious, the private beach seems appealing but swimming in the lagune is forbidden!. Staff is very friendly and boat shuttle to the beach is very easily available. However, staff seems to bee more friendly to some (more regular?) customers than to others. Unfortunately ants on several breakfast tables, in the room (despite several attempts with chemicals) and the lobby. The food in the restaurant is excellent, but only available in set menus, not a la carte? And for this standard one wouldn’t expect Nespresso-coffee!
Disappointing customer service for a 5 start hotel. I was so excited to try this property. Unfortunately, my partner and I had to change our trip plans due to some serious, unexpected family health issues. I reached out just a few hours after the cancel deadline with the hopes of simply moving our reservation so as to not lose the $1600+ we spent for a room. The hotel took 5 days to respond to the request (and multiple were sent) only to say they couldn't do anything about it and thus we have to forfeit the full amount. Really disappointing policies and customer service for a supposed "luxury" brand. Had they budged even a little and at least let us rebook to different dates, then they would've gained a loyal customer for years to come. Instead, they're getting this review, I'll never spend my money at Relais & Châteaux again, and I'll encourage friends and family to avoid them as well.…
We met many great people at this R&C resort but most outstanding were Stephanie and Alexandra. Both ladies exemplify the meaning of hospitality and should be recognized. Stephanie went out of her way assisting us with our Avis car rental and Alexandra helped with the heat in our room. L’Ile de la Lagune is fortunate to have these lovely young ladies as part of their team.
We had such a wonderful time in this stunning hotel last year that we have re-booked with four family members. The hotel is beautifully situated on the lagoon, and a private boat whisks you to the nearby beach. The food and service were excellent and the staff were very friendly and hugely accommodating. We are very excited to be returning in a couple of weeks.
We had a nice suite but the airconditioning was not working well. The people were surprised and they put a manual unit extra in the room but it did not work well. The next day we changed rooms and when i spoke to another member of the hotel i heard that this problem in that room was well known. In a hotel where you pay €750 per night you don't expect such a theater. They also did not have small towels and neither bath robes.
Our third visit here. This time we arrived particularly sweaty and filthy having cycled from Perpignan airfield and without blinking they took our bikes and put in manager’s garage (and were very helpful when key didn’t work to get them out😉). Great food, first meal out after release from Covid house arrest and it was a joy. Great rooftop pool. Nice little beach, albeit with evil albatross-sized gulls circling overhead from time to time.
food brilliant service a bit erratic location exceptional location rooms a bit small but direct access to private beach spa first rate secure parking and very convenient for local tourism.the real France
We were on probably the best suite of the hotel so I presume my review can be a bit biased, but the hotel deserves the "special" mention. It is placed on a island in the middle of the lagoon. It's almost a magic place. The hotel as such is nice and cosy, needing though some renewing for the wooden floors and so on. Really odd but special outdoor warm water pool on the top of the building. It had some traps though as the sinks cut my daughters foot finger skin. To be checked! Breakfast is great, michelin restaurant is too slow but very good in service and quality. Very recommendable all in all
Good restaurant but expensive for dinner. Affordable price for lunch. Wonderful location in the nature alongside the lagune.View on the water. Vegan meals if asked in advance when your reserve. Fine wine..
The good bits . Beautiful small hotel, great setting, spectacular views, heated roof top pool with sunbathing area, excellent spa and to cap it all 1* restaurant. The bad bits, actually to be fair there aren’t any so these are the not so good bits, Supposed to be a 5 * hotel but there are some who maybe disappointed with this version of it. It’s a bit tired and the staff lack the finesse normally assorted with this standard. However they more than make up for this with their friendliness and enthusiasm. Great value if you take their special offers. (2 meals for the price of one when we were there) Highly recommended, will be going again.
