We chose this hotel on recommendation by friends that had been to Santorini three years in the bounce, it was perfect as this trip was our honeymoon…
The hotel staff and local people are great they are lovely people, the hotel has 4 pools and very clean , it has its own private beach all sun beds for guests only.
The pool beds on the other hand you really need the towel down by 8am to get beds either under umbrella or palm tree first thing, if you don’t hit the beach which is a 30 second walk then in the afternoon beds become available.
The staff are so friendly , being a Brit and used to British bars and life you need to just relax , they will take your order at table or if you ask at the bar it was a little slow this is the way they all seem to be in all the bars in the local area..
If you turn left or right out onto the beach road you have very trendy impressive bars , proper Instagram photo ones the detail in the bars are second to none … more pricy to the right but if you go left and keep walking which is nice you have more bars and just as original and trendy.
If you come out the hotel on beach front turn left a slow walk will take you to the big rock/mountain on the beach you can get water taxi to the other side of rock it takes you to kalimari which is more busy it’s nice to go in the day bars and shops great, if you do this go first thing as the last water taxi back at 4:30 I can’t understand why it’s not later.
Oia ( town with blue roofs ) great to see but very very busy , in fact rammed !! 4/5 cruise ships per day as well as tourists on the island.
We went with TUI absolutely wonderful rep called Kelly proper Yorkshire girl lovely and very knowledgeable.
Booking again for next year we flew 15th august 30/35 degrees most days 37 degrees the day we left

The hotel truly stays true to its 4* rating. The rooms are large, clean and there is functioning aircon in every room, except the reception area. You don't come to Santorini for the beaches but the hotel is right next to the nicest beach of the island with free towel and deckchairs for hotel guests.
The breakfast was rather unpleasent - not much variety and due to COVID the personnel prepares the plate for you through a glass. This can lead to confusion because they sometimes can't hear you properly when you ask for things and give you way too much (or too little) on the plate. However, the staff is very friendly overall so no complaints there.
The Wifi situation was rather unfortunate, it didn't work properly for the entire week. When we asked, they said that it was due to a server issue on the mainland.
Cristina, a Romanian, who works on the beach at the hotel is an absolute delight and extremely accommodating. She made our stay extra pleasent and gave us great tipps on what to do on the island. Generally, every staff member was really nice.

Santorini has always been on my bucket list and having reading the reviews for santo mirimare we booked it. We stayed for 1 week bed and breakfast 2nd September 2023.
Breakfast - good choices of food, I can see why the reviews may moan about space as the restaurant itself is on the small side but it wasn't as busy as in peak times so we didn't mind.
Staff - the staff make this hotel! Every single staff member werte helpful, polite and went above and beyond for anything you needed. This hotel should definitely be 5 stars! Big shout out to Christina who takes care of you at the beach and makes sure it's always kept nice and clean. I loved the fact she was always feeding the cats with water and biscuits too. It shows what a lovely lady she is.
Stella and Demetrius at the pool bar made our holiday. Constantly smiling and very outgoing and always made us feel like we have known them for years! After getting chatting we learnt they were coming to England in December so on the last day we gave them a good tip to put towards this as we just thought they were such amazing people and again could not do enough for you.
We met a couple at the hotel who advised they had been going to the hotel twice a year for years!!! They recommend a restaurant called taste of the beach which was 2 doors down on the right of the hotel on the beach front.
We ate there 5 times out of 7 we stayed! Stefan the owner is very approachable and lovely, his wife does the cooking and the portions were huge but also so fresh and tasty! Elias was the waiter who we always became friendly with, who again was lovely.
The beds in the hotel were the comfiest beds I have ever slept in being away from home, the shower was so powerful and the room was just immaculate. The cleaners give fresh towels each day and always cleaned this every day.
The beach is right in front of the hotel and the sea is amazing. The pools are clean but not heated but it was nice to get in to cool down.
Trips -
We went to the volcano trip booked through reception. We went to oia, booked a taxi at 7am again through reception the sun was just coming up and it was very quiet which was brilliant as we got some amazing photos and ate breakfast overlooking the sea. When we were leaving at 9.30am it was absolutely rammed and you could not move. So I would definitely go early!!!
We've already said we want to go back already it was the best.
Thank you santo mirimare.

We loved our stay at this hotel. Our room was lovely (junior suite) and worth the upgrade. I was glad of ground floor and it had a sweet little terrace. Spotlessly clean and the maid was great, she visited every day and worked tirelessly. Pools were lovely too. Two large pools, one kids pool and a jacuzzi. Only downside was that we couldn't use the jacuzzi much as children preferred to play in it than their pool. I think it would be worth considering making the deepest pool nearest the accommodation an adult only pool so that couple can achieve a little peace during their stay as many parents seemed unable to control their children.
I loved the breakfast food selection. There was something for everyone and I enjoyed the feta and vine leaves traditionally available. Only downside was that the food area was very small and cramped and it could become extremely hectic accessing anything.
We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening as there are so many restaurants to choose from in walking distance, all serving excellent food. But the pool bar has amazing food and an excellent choice. The shrimp pasta was sumptuous. The drinks are really good too - the day bar tender, Damien, is wonderful. So knowledgeable and truly an excellent, experienced barman. I've worked in the industry and I can tell he's an asset to this hotel.
Sun beds around the pool were very comfortable. The marble floor is a thoughtful touch and doesn't heat up in the sun like concrete.
There is a little shop to get groceries to the left as you leave the rear of the hotel, only a few strides away. Very well stocked. Family run for generations, a beautiful picture of the owners father on the wall from the 1960s.
All in all a lovely stay, spotlessly clean hotel and the reception staff were so helpful and obliging.
I would definitely return, it was a truly wonderful stay.

**Room**
We stayed in room 206, a junior suite, with our two children, aged 10 and 12. The space was adequate, featuring a decent-sized double bed and what appeared to be another double bed that separated into two singles. The room included a balcony with a partial view of the pool and a large outdoor chess set. The bathroom was nice with a powerful shower. Additionally, the room was clean and tidy, equipped with a small sink area, a kettle, and a small fridge in the cupboard. It also had a safe and air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service.
**Resort/Pool**
The resort itself was lovely, offering two good-sized pools, a baby pool, and a spa-type pool. There is a bar open all day for ordering food and drinks, though be prepared for high prices typical of Santorini. Sunbeds with umbrellas are available around the pools, and the resort provides towels, which can be exchanged every 48 hours. Although reserving sunbeds is not allowed, it unfortunately happens frequently without much enforcement. Some people place towels on sunbeds early in the morning and are not seen all day, using up sunbeds unnecessarily. To secure a good spot, you need to be proactive, especially since it can get very hot in July and August. The resort also has toilets and a shower room near the pool. Just outside the gate, across a small road, is a private-ish beach with dark volcanic sand.
**Food**
We stayed on a half-board basis, which included breakfast and an evening meal, both served buffet-style. Breakfast was more enjoyable compared to the evening meals, which became repetitive over our 10-night stay. The menu lacked variety, with only slight changes each night. Improvement in this area would enhance the overall experience.
**Verdict**
Overall, Santo Mira Mare is a very nice resort and likely the best in the area. However, it is somewhat remote, so day trips are necessary to see the sights. The pools, rooms, and staff were excellent and contributed to a fantastic stay. Despite some minor issues, the resort is commendable overall.

Fantastic hotel with professional and friendly staff.
Everything was 100%.
Clean and tidy in the rooms and common areas.
The food at the pool bar was extremely fresh and a good bartender who mixed tasty and stylish drinks.
Parasol and chair on the beach were included and you only have 50m to your own beach from the hotel.
Crystal clear water and the special black sand make a powerful impression.
If you go outside the hotel, we felt that there were few places to eat that beat our own hotel.
Do not confuse it with the "buffet" that you can book in advance. We never ate it.
Always fresh food and large portions at the pool bar.
You must also try the waffle with glass, it was "too die for"
We would love to come back here.

Just returned after a weeks break at the Santo Miramar Resort.
Impressed from the moment we arrived All staff really helpful and the rooms were modern clean and spacious. Lots of power sockets plus usb
Towels changed everyday and a good sized. Balcony.
We had a garden view at the front of the hotel but we’re not disappointed.
Breakfast was the only meal we had at the hotel. This was really nice piping hot and an abundance of choice hot or cold.
The grounds were immaculate along with its location right on the seafront.
Local restaurants in abundance all reasonably priced.
I have only one negative comment
On the day of departure to keep the room on until 5pm costs €60 which is very high and the facilities in the basement area to shower and freshen up despite being adequate could of done with some air conditioning as it was out the shower into the sauna!
This did not put me off the hotel and would recommend it as a great place to stay

Very good hotel, would stay again. On seafront, close to bars and resturants, room was spacious and clean, pools were a bit noisy with kids, could do with adult only pool, service at pool bar in the evening was very good with only 1 waitress but strangely slow during the day with more people serving. Breakfast was very good, good selection, the only thing we didn't like were the cats in the dinning area with one of the staff feeding them, but if you like cats I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel complex not too bid so has an intimate feel about it. Close to private beach area (literally across a small unbusy road) which has its own umbrellas and bar/food service. Along this unbusy road are a number of small restaurants serving good/typical Greek food. The rooms in the hotel are spotless and of a good size. the breakfast is superb with plenty of hot and cold choices. The resort itself is fairly quiet so would ideally suit couples and families. My only negative is that prices on Santorini appear high and in the hotel do not always expect main brand drinks although you can pay main brand prices. Overall 9/10 and would definately recommend.
