We stayed one night at the end of September. while the room was comfortable I felt that at £195 for one night it was grossly overpriced. Breakfast was served at the Olive Branch and I was surprised to find that the egg and bacon en croute was in fact just egg and bacon on toast.

We broke a long drive up the length of the country with a night here and it was an excellent stay. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff at the pub and taken to our room (Berry) which was in the house across the road. This was a delightful room with a very comfortable bed, good linen and a... More

This place is a gem. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated. All of the expected provisions - tv (an excellent quality one too) tea and coffee facilities (with a cafetiere and fresh milk) etc. Run by the Olive Branch across the road we enjoyed a dinner, b&b deal - food was absolutely tremendous. Located in a rural area, close... More

Stayed 3 amazing nights in the apple room. There was such a homely beautiful atmosphere and after having 4 flights it was definitely needed. The room was clean and tidy and there was delicious homemade shortbreads every morning which definitely made up for it. The staff were inviting and friendly and helped us with anything we needed. They also emailed... More

We arrived here exhausted after several full on long days of filming for work and a drive down from Leeds. We'd booked this as a little treat to ourselves and to break the journey back down to London. Immediately on arrival we were made to feel very welcome, a swift but pleasant check-in (we didn't want a long talk -... More

We booked here to celebrate my birthday and this worked really well. Stayed in the biscuit room, which was spacious and comfortable. Weather not good enough to sit outside which was a shame. Bed and bathroom really nice. Perfect for staying over if you want to eat at the Olive Branch. Breakfast was excellent - locally sourced and great choice... More

The Beech House are rooms over the road from the wonderful Olive Branch pub/restaurant. It is brilliantly located just off the A1, near enough to be a very convenient stop on the way up north and far enough away to feel in the heart of the countryside. We stayed in the room "Double Cream" which was spacious with a lovely... More

We stayed here for a night as part of a food/accommodation package with the Olive Branch. The building is a gorgeous Gorgian house with tastefully decorated and well equipped rooms. It felt very cosy and was very clean. Just a small point, although my wife slept well, for me the mattress was too soft.

We decided to visit Rutland on our way back South and had a very comfortable two-night stay & delicious breakfast, as well as two outstanding evening meals at the Olive Branch. The quality of food & drink is simply wonderful - great home-made treats on the tea tray, proper coffee and 'home-made' tea-bags. The only negative comments I would make... More

I treated my sister to a night at Beech House, with dinner at the Olive Branch, for her Christmas present - and my other sister came too. The three of us stayed in the Chocolate Suite which is a ground floor annexe with its own patio which would be lovely in summer. There is a lounge with squishy leather sofas,... More
