What a beautiful spectacular location. By far the best holiday home I have ever experienced in NZ. The place has all you need, fully equipped kitchen, great lounge area, extremely comfortable bedding, fantastic outdoor area to relax and enjoy the breath taking views. The host, David was very friendly and available to assist whenever we needed. I would highly recommend... More

What a lovely and remote spot to pitch up a tent. This DOC-run campsite is located directly at a beautiful beach and the water is warm enough during summer for swimming. The road there is long, winding and unpaved, but it*s worth it! The campground has a neat barbecue area which is spotlessly clean, thanks to the camp managers. And... More

being had the pleasure to spend two wonderful weeks at The Port. As we had not been back to New Zealand for a holiday in at least 4 years it was with some high expectations we arrived at the Port to catch up with family who had traveled from both ends of NZ to spend the first week with us.... We spent a fabulous 5 days at The Port. From first contacting David I felt confident this would be great place for a family coming together to celebrate a 90th birthday. The location is stunning and the house is brimming with character, charm and wonderful collections. The beds were divinely comfortable and the layout of the house allowed privacy for... More

When we entered the house the first thought was WOW. The house is so so beautiful and big and full of treasures and artifacts which have been , I suppose, collected in many years and have been selected very carefuly with great taste !! We were so sad that we stayed only for one night and got rain and fog... More

We came for 3 days and stayed 2 weeks! The house is charming, the garden relaxing, the location spectacular and we felt light-years away from stress. David and John have an extraordinary sense for perfect hospitality. And they have the most wonderful cat in the world : Louis !

The home away from home that you have always wanted, but much better! All the mod cons, a view to die for and an incredibly relaxed and welcoming vibe made for a very enjoyable time. Our stay in this eclectic and luxurious place was much too short. Many thanks to David & John for their hospitality. HIGHLY recommended. Glenn &... More
