We stayed here so we were close to the ferry for TiriTiri Matangi Island the next day and it was pleasant. It was Good Friday so most things were closed but it was quiet and the room was clean and tidy. We arrived in the dark so the lovely sunny view the next morning was very pleasant.

Recently had friends in from Melbourne for Easter. We booked them into two rooms at the Gulf Harbour lodge.I was pleased to hear the rooms were clean and they said the beds were wonderful.I think this Lodge went through some hard times but I was very pleased to hear they stay was good.

Very disappointed we did not check the review before arrival. Room was damp due to a leaking door and the horrible musty/odor made for a poor nights sleep. Fantastic location. Wish the room matched the views. Not recommended.

Was a little dubious after seeing reviews about noise but my stay was fine! Its not the Ritz Carlton but its clean, tidy, comfortable enough. Large room with two double beds and ok bathroom. Decent value in the area. Places to eat and drink and mini supermarket adjacent and a nice view by the marina.

We stayed at Gulf Harbour Lodge because we had friends staying at Orewa, about 15 minutes drive away ... It looked good on the internet so we booked in. Firstly, the location is pleasant, we had a view of the Marina and the surrounding suburb. There is no restaurant attached to this establishment but there are cafes on the marina...

It is a great pity that Pacific Bar aka Carpe Diem continue to compromise the residents of the Gulf Harbour Lodge with loud music and too often over filling their customers with alcohol. It is little wonder that the Lodge as a business has been an abysmal failure and apartments are continuing to be sold off at a discount rate....

Handy to bars and restaurants, yes, far too handy. If you are prepared to get your sleep after midnight this is the place for you. The on site bar and restaurant, Carpe Diem, doesn't just seize the day it seizes the night as well. Loud music and boisterous drinkers are right outside your bedroom window till after midnight. The rooms...

Large room, with 2 x double beds. Pleasant balcony, overlooking the marina. Useful kitcenette with microwave. No food on offer, but that does not matter, as there are excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The location is excellent, and the Lodge deserves to be looked after and updated. One of the restaurants below had music and some loud people until...

Beautiful location. Good surrounding businesses, bar/restaurant. Room getting tired bathroom door wouldn't close or lock needs some tender loving care to bring it back to its best. If you have an aversion to the smell of curry stay away from rooms 1-3

We stayed at the Gulf Harbour Lodge for a couple of nights in a Water View Suite. It is advertised as a four star property which it definitely is not. The place must be nearly 20 years old and it looks as if it has never been refurbished, carpet very worn out. The first thing I noticed was the wallpaper...
