Good sized room, very clean and comfortable. Extremely helpful hosts and a great view of the beach and bay. Free wifi. Great ice cream available. Very helpful local amenities manual. Easy walking distance to many local places and a lovely balcony on the upstairs room to relax after some exercise. Remember to ask for a ground floor room if you have trouble with stairs.
Just got back from a fantastic time at Whangaparoa and stayed at the Whangaparoa lodge. I was impressed with the excellent hospitality that was provided the entire 2 days we were there. The lodge has some of the most wonderful views of Little Manly bay and the beach right across the road....I couldnt help myself so I went for a swim LOL. The local people are friendly and the lodge facilities are excellent. I would recommend this accomodation to all people.
My husband and I arrived at Whangaparoa Lodge after a very long day of driving. We were greeted warmly by Troy (the owner) and check-in was a breeze. Our room was ready and my goodness, it was gorgeous! All the little things that add the appreciated extras to our stay were there: welcoming cups of herbal tea, robes, incredible pillows and linen, view of Little Manly Beach, and more. Super clean and meticulous. The only teeny-tiny "complaint" we have is with the 10:00 a.m. checkout time. We would have appreciated another hour for breakfast, a stroll along the beach, etc. A minor issue, but mentioning because we were surprised it was so early. Anyhow, no hesitation in giving this hotel top marks. Lovely spot and only wish we had more than one night there. Thank you!
If you have an early morning flight you could do worse than stay here . You can either park your car and drive to the airport or take the regular shuttle bus . Rooms are large and the staff know what they are doing
As ex-building managers on the Gold Coast of Australia, you can't help looking for the little things that make your stay comfortable in other people's accomodation. Immediately on entering Reception to book in, everything felt right. Clean, well presented, welcoming staff member who it turned out was a Relief Manager as the owners were away on holiday, so full marks to her (my apologies...can't remember her name ). But gave an excellent overview of the local area, advice on restaurants and aspects of the room which certainly added to the initial 'feel good' factor. Rooms.... Clean, well presented and all facilities available including a small cook top for guests who wanted to prepare a meal in their room rather than venture out, plus 'Sky' TV with pretty much all channels available. Bathroom was large and roomy which was a pleasant surprise as these can often be small and cramped in motels. The Whangaparao Lodge is opposite the beach so it has a pleasant outlook and the local restaurants and shops are within an easy walking distance. Plenty of off road parking on the motel site itself, except for anyone towing a boat. That may present some difficulties. Overall points - 10/10. Highly recommended. M Brown…
