For anyone visiting the Whangaparaoa Peninsula you certainly can’t go wrong by choosing this Lodge. It is located in a great location across the road from Little Manly and is an easy stroll to the Little Manly village where there is a selection of great restaurants. (In particular Due Amici is recommended but be warned – you should book first!). I struggle with a previous reviewer’s suggestions that “the hotel is a basic drive in motel”. This lodge is much much more than that and I applaud the management and staff for what they have achieved and the service they offer. They achieved Travellers Choice 2019 winner status – and these awards do not come easy.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay and thought our room was nicely decorated and very well appointed and had everything we needed. We would certainly stay again. Kathryn and Peter

Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Great products for soaps and moisturizers. The kitchenette was well appointed though we ate out the night we stayed there. Our room was basic but did have an extra twin bed and a dinette set if you wanted to eat in the room. It’s within walking distance of a small village with several restaurant choices and you can walk a bit further through the neighborhood to get to the beach which is a large, clean, sandy beach. Nice place to have a stopover before getting into Auckland. Troy is friendly and helpful!

We landed here trying to get back to the states amid the Coronavirus. The lodge welcomed us with open arms, and we settled into a large, very comfortable and spotless room. Located around lovely regional parks for hikes, a quick walk to 4 wonderful restaurants, and picturesque beaches and bays, we were surprised how well we passed the time as we awaited a flight home. Yet, most of all the owners and staff were amazing. In a time when they were seeing travel cancellations, they made sure those here well taken care of. It’s like we’ve become family. I know most people who read this will not be traveling for a while, but if and when we can, we highly recommend this oasis. You simple cannot go wrong

This was our second stay and as per our previous visit we found everything tickety-boo. Troy, Tomoko and their team are very good at what they do; from the hospitality, service they provide to the, cleanliness and spacious-ness of the unit, right down to the steaming hot cup of fruit tea brought to your room on arrival. The location is just perfect across the road from Little Manly beach. Perrrrrfect in every way and we'll be back when we can.

A really understated name which hides beautifully designed, high quality accomodation fronted by a superbly engaging host.

All features were of the highest quality from the wet-room bathroom (with Monsoon Shower of course!) to the comfortable king sized bed, wonderful decor and all the facilities we needed.

Literally 1 minute across the road to Little Manly Beach with walkways, views and a swim.

Truly, my only disappointment is that we were just passing through so stayed just the one night. Our next visit to the area will definitely be based at Whangaparaoa Lodge.

You might see from previous reviews that I rarely give 5 stars, even for the best... so here's a first!

Thanks team!

I was impressed that this motel had all the facilities of a large hotel and at the end of a very long day I enjoyed their spa bath in a studio room complete with a bath bomb - bliss.

Owners are very hands on and professional. Their recommending for a restaurant meant I had a very lovely Italian meal as well.

Room very clean, bed very comfortable; just a very very pleasant stay.

Will definitely be back for a weekend to enjoy and relax

Thanks Troy anbd Tomoko

Needing a place to rest up for a few days after arriving in New Zealand. We couldn’t have picked a better location or hotel! The Lodge is located in this immaculate suburban upscale neighborhood, literally surrounded by bays and beaches with fantastic restaurants you can find just a short stroll away.
The Lodge is just the place to relax in peace and comfort with friendly hosts Glen and Sandy there to make your stay comfortable and effortless. The gourmet breakfast delivered to our room each morning was a great way to start the day. After three very kicked back days exploring the neighborhood, beaches and marinas, we were relaxed, rested and ready to take on New Zealand.

All the reviews that I read emphasised the brilliant service and I can only agree. Glen and Sandy have mastered the difficult art of not only being there, ready and willing to help when needed, but also allowing guests space to enjoy their stay. It's a difficult tightrope to walk but they do it perfectly. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, the location is great, the local Italian restaurant superb, and for a bird watcher like me, the nearby Shakespear regional park is a rare opportunity to see native New Zealand bush birds without having to take a boat ride. Highly recommended.

We stayed recently at the Whangaparoa Lodge for a two day break. We were welcomed so warmly by our hosts who were genuinely interested in meeting us and doing all they could to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a view across to the harbour. We had a lovely stay in an area we had not visited before and we would recommend this accommodation without hesitation. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality and wonderful accommodation.

We absolutely loved this beautiful lodge in a fantastic location near the ocean. We loved having the beach across the street and easy access to wonderful Shakespear Park. There was convenient free parking. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, with comfy beds, a lovely kitchenette with a good sized fridge, and a large attractive bathroom with a rain shower. We loved the spa-quality shampoo that was also environmentally friendly, the blackout shades that helped us sleep soundly, and the sitting area outside with a view of the ocean. It felt like a luxury hotel experience for an incredibly reasonable price.
Troy, the owner/manager, was as kind, welcoming, helpful and patient as anyone could be. We can't recommend the Whangaparaoa Lodge highly enough! You won't be disappointed!
