Once again a peaceful stay in this motel that feels more like home. Delightful garden setting with managers and an owner who cares about their customers. Everything provided for our comfort and food and wine stores within walking distance so that it is easy to be self contained. Such a delight to hear the river and the birds.

We had a great time whilst staying here for 5 nights with our toddler. Very close to the river for fishing, plus walks in the area and Tongariro National Park. The two bedroom cabins are family friendly and the lovely grounds a nice setting for evening bbq's. Highly recommend Ken Drummond for guided fishing.

An old fishing hotel with the tongariro river flowing behind, if you want to have a quiet fishing trip with friends this hotel would be ideal. Not recommendable for families. The tongariro national park is in Turangi. To people who enjoy fishing trips, this is an ideal hotel for you.

I think that most visitors stay here as a base for their fishing trip, but it’s also very close to the park and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing Trek. The cabins are clean with a fully equipped kitchen - including a full size oven. The place is very homey and spacious with a separate bedroom off the living room and kitchen...

We stayed 3 nights here in this lovely apartment which had nicely decorated clean rooms and and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Creel Lodge very much and I can only recommend it. Especially the garden is very well kept. Turangi is close to Tongariro NP where we went for hiking.

Lovely cabins in a beautiful setting, right on the river. Very friendly & helpful staff. We had a lovely relaxing 4 nights, cooked our own breakfast, cabins are fully self contained. Walked to town for dinner most nights. One minor complaint is the Wi Fi service. It's not very good there and the free wi-fi limit runs out very quickly,...

Just returned from a tramp of the Tongariro Alpine crossing, which is a bucket list achievement on many "trampers" need to do list. That aside, the best surprise of the outing was our stay at the Creel Lodge Motel in Turangi which offers a beautiful garden like setting in the quietest part of town, right on the Tongarariro river. The...

Creel Lodge is no five star resort, but the price you pay reflects that. We stayed in the "yellow tail" room for two nights and it's clean and reasonably comfortable if a bit dated and slightly tired. The most modern piece of furniture was the flat screen TV. Can't beat the quiet location though, right next to the river amongst...

What a lovely place to stay. We have a garden motel with lovely trees and shrubs all around us. We've stayed here twice before and its still as good. The motel unit is well appointed and the beds very comfortable.

Although unit was clean but fishy smell was quite strong. When complained to staff we were told "what do you expect - it's fishing town". Location is ok, garden setting is quite good but we don't think we will stay here again due to staff attitude.
