We both really loved it. We came to do the Tongariro Crossing. Bad weather on our 1st day. We did extend our stay and decided to splurge and take a private guide. Terry picked us up from the lodge, and it was awesome.
Fantastic, luxurious lodge. Very private, quiet and supremely comfortable. Exquisite dinners. A wonderful place to stay. Fantastic hosts who've travelled the world and had amazing experiences. Highly recommended.
River Birches Lodge is serene and peaceful. Rooms are big and very comfortable, and our has its own hot tub. There is a stirring room complete with fireplace. The Lodge is next to the river, allowing access to great footpath for walking/running. Best of all...More
