Came here for our Babymoon expecting a luxury experience. Picked this over other beautiful locations and regret it. Huge waste! Food- The food was horrible and grossly overpriced. They don’t use any local ingredients and all of their dishes are tasteless/ moldy. My husband and I both got sick. A plain salad is $38 without any avocado etc.. to add chicken $30. I would rather eat airplane food. The snacks and drinks ( yes coke etc) we’re expired in our room! How is this even possible? You have no option but to eat at their property for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some nights we didn’t eat at all. Staff- Poorly trained to put it simply. Not luxury at all. Property- the beach is the only nice part. The rooms are average at best! Would have thought I was staying at a Marriott. Our shower had mold and the grate was broken and cut me. $1600 a night? Haha. Not to mention, the bath robes and linens are all dirty and smell. We didn’t sleep well all week. Most hotels in NY have frette sheets or robes…. Pillow tops? No. Overall, this was hands down the worst trip of our life. We would have rather stayed home or gone to Europe with the amount of $ we wasted on trash food and service. I can’t stress enough how horrible everything was. If you have the chance.. stay at Aman.…
First off, the beach and private location is wonderful. The water and long stretch of beach is absolutely stunning. If money is of no concern, stay in a private beach front villa and you will receive the appropriate service and attention. You’ll be happy. If this is a trip of a lifetime or once in a 10 year type of experience, keep reading…. Our total stay for 3 nights was well over $6.5K (including food and drinks). We stayed in a garden view room. The shower had dirt/mildew on the floor. The toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall. Bathrooms desperately need updating. Chocolate covered strawberries were provided upon arrival, which is lovely, except they were in a closed box that wasn’t pointed out or ever opened. We didn’t notice them until we started to smell the mold and opened the box 3 days later. Their concession was to offer chocolate covered strawberries as we were walking out the door… Not quite the same at that point. Our travel agent told them it was our 20th anniversary. There was no mention of it here, except “happy anniversary” when we arrived. Maybe silly of me, but thought they might help us celebrate with something special. (Mexico resorts always do btw). Breakfast was sub par. Staff at the beach was very friendly, but dinner staff at The Terrace was rude. 1 of the 3 dinners was wonderful. The other 2 were average… well, below average considering we paid over $300 for each. My husband doesn’t drink wine, so I always buy by the glass. There are 3 choices for white wine by the glass for the entire resort. I kind of liked one of them but at $20/glass, I’d prefer to thoroughly enjoy. Again, if this is a typical trip you take often, you’ll be fine. If this is something you really want to be special, look elsewhere. We stayed at Grace Bay Club for 3 nights before this. Not private like Parrot Cay, but great restaurants and very personalized service… for what it’s worth.…
You cannot find a more peaceful, relaxing location in the Caribbean. From the boat taxi to the private Key to the most beautiful resort and beach! Long beach walks, beautiful sunsets. And truly the best service! We cannot wait to return!
So, this was our first stay in T&C. We are English people living in France/Monaco. Arrived late at night with one other couple who became great friends. Our reception on arrival was great and Shirley was great though-out. This resort to be clear is for relaxation and was very relaxing for us. The staff were wonderful. Food quality pretty good but we are European. Beautiful vistas and very private which we appreciated. A place to relax
We spent 5 nights in a one bedroom beach house at Parrot Cay resort. We arrived at the airport where we were met by our driver to take us to the boat that would take us to the resort. The driver of the SUV had no air conditioning in his vehicle. The transportation was arranged by the hotel for 198.00 per person. We then were taken to the dock and boarded a large old diesel boat that was very smelly and took about 1/2 hour. Then we had a 3 mile trek on an old golf cart to get to our room. The room was fine but very old and not up to date with the price we were paying. $4000.00 a night before taxes and fees. We have stayed in beach resorts all over the world and do not mind paying the price for luxury. This room was so not LUXURY! We ended up calling it the shack on the beach. We were told there were 3 restaurants on property but nobody bothered to tell us that only one would be open each night. My husband has food allergies so I had called the resort weeks before to make sure they could accomodate him. The food was not good and the choices were very diffcult for him to eat. He ended up ordering from the children's room service menu most nights. The help is fine but not very friendly and nobody except Shirley the Assistant General Manage bothered to try and help us. Also the food prices were very expensive. Again we wouldn't mind paying if the food was good. We were stuck on property because to go anywhere you have to charter a boat to get back to town. We knew this ahead of time but were not concerned because they told us 3 restaurants were available.I enjoy working out in a great gym but the gym there was filthy dirty. Good equipment but the floor and machines were dirty. I was in there one day and then I could not bring myself to go back again. One day I complained to someone on property and he said he would call the spa but nobody ever responded. All in all a beautiful piece of property that needs a major redo.…
Location could not be improved upon - the beach and pool area is breathtaking and the layout was optimal. The food was outstanding and the cocktails were made with true craftsmanship - we were very impressed! The staff was attentive and friendly, and they were all a joy to chat with and get to know. The only hiccup we had was around turn-down service and room cleaning, which came at odd hours if at all. When cleaning was completed, the room was great. I would call that a minor hiccup considering how great everything else was. Outstanding ambience, scenery, and overall experience! We look forward to returning some day soon!
From the moment we stepped out of customs our trip to Como Parrot Cay was idyllic. The gentleman that greeted/escorted us to the private car was delightful. The boat house where we waited for our private boat trip to the island was beautifully decorated and stocked with champagne, beer, snacks and tea. Highlights of our trip included a spectacular visit to the Shambala Spa - don't miss this, days by the pool sipping cocktails, sunset beach walks and shelling. The property was quiet, very well kept and every one of our needs was met. The food was delicious (a bit expensive but to be expected given that we were on a private island), the drink menus were extensive as were the healthy options. It was wonderful to leave a vacation and not feel like we over ate! We did not get a chance to do any excursions or explore the island because we enjoyed the pool and the beach so much. We definitely plan to do those next time as the small dock where the excursions depart from is just beautiful!! We only saw it as we were departing but wish we had spent more time there paddle boarding, etc. We met other wonderful guests who we plan to stay in touch with. Thank you for an amazing way to celebrate our 10th anniversary - we will most certainly be back!…
Wow. What a place. We arrived at PLS on a Friday at 1:00pm, where we were met by a private driver from COMO Parrot Cay in a large, black, luxurious GMC Suburban. He quickly loaded our bags and off we went on a 30-minute drive north to a COMO Parrot Cay welcome pavilion at a private boat dock. We relaxed in the pavilion sipping champagne for about 15 minutes as our bags were loaded onto a private boat that would take us on our 30-minute journey further north to the COMO Parrot Cay resort, which is situated on its own private island. The boat ride was beautiful, as we sliced through the turquoise water with the warm sun on our pale midwestern skin. We arrived at the COMO Parrot Cay boat dock, where we were met by a friendly staff member who picked us up in a golf cart. The Room: Our bags were taken by the bell staff to our room. After a short tour of the main parts of the property, our host took us to our room. On the living room table was a chilled bottle of rose wine, which we enjoyed immediately. We stayed in an ocean facing room in the main building up on the hill. Spectacular view. The room was very large, with a large sitting area inside with a couch.. There is an extremely large deck that contains a large day bed, and a table and chairs. We enjoyed coffee out there in addition to a meal one evening. The bathroom is large, clean and contains ample storage. Several drawers and cabinets to stow our things. There is a nice sized bar area with a Nepresso coffee maker, hot water pot for tea, and a coffee station stocked with pods, sugar, etc. In the cabinet above, there were wine glasses, corkscrew, small plates, and a nice selection of complimentary snacks. In the cabinet below, there was a refrigerator again stocked with complimentary items including evian water, club soda, coke and diet coke, coconut waters, and the local beer. We brought a number of food items with us for the week, and there was extra room in the fridge to store those cold items. Also on the living room table was a pile of fresh pears, which we ate throughout the week. The Beach: On vacations, we seek seclusion, and this place delivers. The island is private, so the only people on it are guests of the hotel and those in a very few private homes. We asked one of the staff how many guests were in-house for the week: 150. The beach is literally a mile long with gorgeous, wide sand and ample shallow areas to wade, swim, and look for conch shells. As I said, this place is secluded. We walked the beach twice per day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. We literally saw no more than 6 other people on any of our walks. We felt like we had this mile-long beach to ourselves. I cannot emphasize enough how spectacular this beach is. Best one I have ever seen. The Pools and Beach Area: There are extremely comfortable, high quality wooden beach chairs, along the beach and in front of the pool. Chairs are paired up with a large beach umbrella in between them. The pairs of chairs are well spaced from the other pairs of chairs, so you have a lot of space between you and other couples. Room to chill and relax. We claimed our chairs each morning. One of the friendly, helpful beach attendants was there to set up the chairs with covers and towels and open the umbrella for us. There are two pools: one for adults, and one where kids are allowed. We swam in the adult infinity pool once. It’s fantastic. Very warm, and rarely anyone in it. The reason we were not in that pool more is because we spent most of our time in the ocean. Next to the pool is a great bar and sitting area to enjoy drinks and food during the day and night. We spent 7+ hours per day in our beach chairs, exactly what we needed. The Food and Wine: Breakfast is included with the room rate, and it’s served at the restaurant near the beach. Outstanding breakfasts. Honestly, the best food of the day. Wonderful. Many choices, very healthy, and delicious. All you want. There are two restaurants: One by the beach, and one, Terrace, in the main building up on the hill. The cuisine for dinner changes daily. We had two meals at the beach, two meals at Terrace, and 3 in our room. Terrance was OK. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give the food a 6.5 Just not inspired or really delicious. For the restaurant on the beach, I give that an 8.5 The dishes there were much better, and we really enjoyed them. For room service, we ordered off of the “Shambala” menu, which is their health-centered menu. Delicious, and really some of our best meals. I have read several reviews complain about high food prices. It's not that high, especially for a place where table stakes for room rates at $2K per night. However, wine pricing is high. We are wine people. We travel with our own wine, and we also enjoy discovering new wines offered by the locations we visit. COMO offers a good selection of European wines. My only nit with COMO Parrot Cay is the pricing of the wine. It’s literally a 4x and 5x markup over retail. I get it, it’s an island and unique, but the wine markup was over the top. We brought 4 bottles with us in our luggage, and basically stuck to those. $30 corkage fee. If the wine were more reasonably priced, would would have purchased some bottles. Activities: The gym is massive. I worked out there a couple times, and it has all the equipment anyone could need. We did two yoga classes which were excellent. We also did a couples massage, which was fantastic. The therapists were excellent and the facility is beautiful. The Staff: As good as everything I have described thus far was, one of the best parts of our experience was the staff. The staff members are from Turks and from all over the world, and they could not have been more kind, welcoming and attentive. Really sweet folks. The best anywhere we have ever stayed. Without a doubt, we will return to this paradise.…
We just returned from a long stay and had a very disappointing experience. Save your money, stay elsewhere. Pros: the servers at the restaurant and beach are truly lovely. The staff was very kind and thoughtful. Also, some of the rooms seem quite nice, but there is a huge variance in quality (and if you get a bad room, it's REALLY bad). Also, staff took COVID and mask policies seriously, which was good. Unfortunately, they were a few major service and room-related hiccups that left a sour taste in our mouths. Details below: Cons: 1. The room you get makes a huge difference, and we had one positive and one horrifying experience. We were upgraded to a suite for part of our stay, which was lovely. However, one night we were in an ocean-facing room and it was HORRIBLE. First, it smelled like the room had a mildew / mold problem (which was super concerning for health reasons) and the bathroom constantly reeked of urine (it smelled like a men's restroom!). It was really gross! Second, the room was really dirty - the floors in the bathroom in particular were stained with some kind of dirt. Not sure if the cleaning crew just didn't clean it well, but it was super disturbing to see the bathroom floors in that condition. It felt like the kind of room you'd get for $300 a night, not $2K. Also, the term "ocean view" is laughable - you see a tiny sliver of ocean, but your primary view is of other rooms and trees. I honestly am shocked that they charge $2K for a room that they shouldn't even be selling until they fix it up. 2. The airport transport service was unprofessional and unsafe. Both ways, we had drivers who were driving aggressively (75 mph in a 40 mph windy road... weaving lanes and braking abruptly) and blasting the radio. I don't mind different driving styles, but the problem is that when I asked them to slow down (explaining that I was nervous + carsick), they appeared annoyed and refused to slow down. One driver actually slammed our bags down after dropping us off at the airport and sped away, clearly annoyed that we asked them to drive more carefully. He tried to leave so abruptly my husband had to flag him down to get something from the back seat. Totally unprofessional for a "high end service". 3. The team at the welcome center in Provo where you wait for your boat was also rude and unprofessional. We had a significant flight delay, and asked if we could hang back at the welcome center for a bit of extra time. We offered to sit outdoors so as to not take up any space for incoming guests. The woman in charge flat-out said we could leave "now or never" and didn't make any efforts to try to accommodate us. I understand if the answer is no, but at least be respectful and kind about it. 4. It's clear they discriminate based on how much you spend on a room (maybe because they're angling for tips?). I observed people in beach villas getting much better treatment than those in the regular rooms or suites. Again, when the starting price is $2K per night, I think everyone should be treated really well. That was really sad to see. 5. We were consistently disappointed by the quality of food, especially relative to the price. We weren't drinking, but we still didn't spend less than $150 for any meal (including simple salad lunches) and dinners were all $300 for food only. We are huge foodies so this would be no big deal if the quality were high, but the quality was really poor and the portions were tiny, so we felt ripped off. 6. We had SO many errors on our final bill! Some were MAJOR CHARGES (for instance they tried to charge us twice for boat transfers, which added an extra $500). We travel a ton and I can't remember ever having this happen before, especially at such a high-end resort. It was stressful to have to deal with this right before departure, and it led us to feeling really suspicious and duped. It's simply not OK to try to sneak in almost $1K of false charges onto someone's bill. I'm just glad we thought to check the bill carefully this time. 7. Some service things were just strange and illogical. We had a fruit basket ordered to our room, and they sent us a bunch of uncut fruit like a whole pineapple. Very strange. We didn't end up eating it because it was inconvenient to deal with. Also, I don't drink (and made this clear upon arrival), but the hotel sent us a welcome bottle of wine to our room. I don't want to knock them on this because it was a really nice and thoughtful gesture, for sure, but obviously it went to waste!…
This was our first holiday in 2 years since the pandemic began and were so excited to get away. We stayed in the 1 bed beach house which was spacious and a close walk to the beach. We didn't realise until we arrived that we wouldn't actually be able to see the beach from our house which was a bit of a shame. We had anticipated that we could lie on the beach directly outside the beach house but that wasn't the case. We enjoyed walking along the beach every morning and it was so quiet and peaceful. The water wasn't at its best when we were there as it had a lot of debris floating in it which settled onto the beach some days so it wasn't the purest beach we have visited, however when the the weather was sunny and calm, the water was beautiful! We loved the beach bar and visited it every night to watch the sunset. It was one of our favourite parts of the day. As other reviews have mentioned; the food and drinks are very expensive but this is generally the norm for an island resort so we were prepared for this. The food at the Mediterranean resort was beautiful, and we visited most evenings as the Asian restaurant didn't appeal to our taste, however it always seemed to be very popular. Over the years we have visited many high end resorts in the Caribbean and Indian Ocean. We did feel that our stay lacked in the special touches we have found with similar priced resorts such as little treats left at turndown, being greeted by staff by our names, a visit from senior management to make sure our stay was everything we had hoped and a more memorable send off on our way home. I think these little touches would have made our stay more memorable and would have gained it 5 stars. We had a very lazy stay and never visited the spa. We were so happy to lie by the adults pool each day and could have stayed longer than 7 days!…
