My husband and I almost hate to give Sailrock Resort a review. We would love to keep this gem to ourselves! But here are the things we love about this place that have brought us back 4 times: 1) The wonderful staff. Throughout the resort, we were always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. We could tell they truly cared that we were enjoying ourselves. Putra and Leny always go above and beyond to make us comfortable. We have felt honored to get to know them over the years and now feel like they’re family. Jerom, the bartender at the cove was incredibly attentive and made awesome drinks! Justin, Earl and Kubir also deserve a mention for making us feel special. 2) The island. It’s very quiet, rugged and yet beautiful. We hiked and biked north from the resort. It wasn’t easy with the unpaved, sandy, rocky roads going up and down hilly terrain. But it was so worth it! The views along the way and from cliffs behind the old Coast Guard station were amazing! There are no touristy shops in the town to the south of the resort. But we would recommend eating at the two restaurants – Sunset Cafe and Triple J Grill. The food was really good and it’s always nice to support the locals. 3) The resort. Our room was air conditioned; the bed was very comfortable and the shower always had hot water. Every morning we watched the sunrise from our balcony. The food and drinks both at the cove and at the Great House were wonderful! They don’t skimp on portions either. Most of our days were spent walking the beach along the gorgeous Caribbean, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing the Hobie Cat and lounging under an umbrella. No crowds, no loud nightlife. Just pure relaxation. Can’t wait until we can go back!

For our 15 year wedding anniversary, I wanted to do something special for my wife (after all, she stuck it out). Neither of us have ever been to Turks and Caicos before, and she told me it was on her bucket list (as a European, I am ashamed that never heard of T&C). So here I was searching, reading reviews, and planning - mostly pretending that I knew what I was doing (secretly keeping my fingers crossed as I was clueless). I came across different websites, resorts, locations and it was both overwhelming and paralyzing. To this day, I still wonder how I stumbled across Sailrock Resort, and I honestly can’t remember if it was on social media or one of the main travel websites. The resort pictures looked great (as the other resorts), reviews were top notch, but I think what really did it for me was the layout of the resort - it wasn’t a commercial skyscraper, and it felt more personal. Keep in mind that at this point, I didn’t know that the final destination was not the main T&C island, but it required an inter-Caribbean flight to South Caicos. I booked it, and figured I was set, until the panic set in as I realized (through Google maps) that I could not get to South Caicos by merely taking a flight to the main island (PLS airport). Obviously I assumed the resort was on the main island, but the resort website clearly state South Caicos - I guess I ignored that fact. I thought ‘great, this is going be a lot more expensive than planned and maybe I could spin it to my wife that the trip would cover both our 15 and 20 year wedding anniversary’. Fortunately (and surprisingly) for me, the additional flight to South Caicos was very affordable, but it required another aspect of planning. Keep in mind that the resort gives you room options that include the hopper-flight (and in retrospect, I should have selected that). Was it burdensome to do an additional connection - yes, but like they say ‘if it was easy, everyone would do it’. The resort website was both simple and convenient. After booking the room (a Rooftop Ridge), I called to upgrade to the Premier Rooftop Ridge, and it was no problem and everything matched to what their website was offering (actually, their billing was 100% accurate without any surprises - how often can you say that when traveling). Another great convenience was that I could pre-select several items like food credit, massage or wedding vow renewals (who wouldn’t pass that up on the beach). I ended up settling for all three. The resort also offers the option for guest to pre-select their own groceries. Ahh, the day of travel finally arrived (middle of May), and off we went. Most of the trip went well, and once we got to the main airport on T&C, we had a 4 hour wait for the island-hopper flight (this is standard and out of control for the resort). We ended up taking a taxi to a nearby restaurant for lunch and the time went by quicker. Once we got in the air, it was a 30 min trip to South Caicos and despite the propel plane, it was one of the most scenic flights I ever taken. The altitude of the plane was low enough that we could take beautiful pictures of the ‘paradise’. Upon landing at South Caicos, the Sailrock Resort ‘experience’ was in amazing in every way (it reminded me of Disney’s worry-free and convenience experience). We were picked up from the airport where the resort staff met us on the tarmac, took our bags, and drove us to the resort (this is included with every booking). The total drive to the resort was 20 minutes, and the first impression was SECLUSION. We were dropped off at the resort beach lagoon where we were welcomed with drinks (how can you pass up a cold ‘Blue Ocean’ at the blue ocean). In the meanwhile, the driver took our bags to the main house and subsequently to our room. After the beach welcome, we were driven to the main house for check-in. We were grated by Ashley who notified us that we got a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom (this gesture, among many, set off an avalanche of amazing experiences, and we were so grateful for choosing Sailrock Resort for our anniversary trip). Once in the room, there was champagne waiting for us on the table along with a printout of our vow renewal schedule. All the details were taken care of (bug spray and bug repellent wrist bands, bottled water, even q-tips). The room was beautifully located with speechless (I ran out of adjectives to describe it) views of the waters surrounding the island. Biggest (and very positive) surprises were: 1. Resort was a little more spread out than I thought it would be (keep in mind there are less than 40 accommodations), but it was easy to get around with the main building (pool, gym, restaurant) being central to the resort 2. The greenery, landscaping and nature was an integral part of the resort (or should I say, the resort was an integral part of the landscape), and made it feel even more secluded, private, and peaceful The resort provided several complimentary activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, hammocks, bikes, pool, and we did them all. Our top two experiences were: - Vow renewal on the beach at sunset (we were the only ones out there - it was very romantic). All the details were taken care of, we had someone officiate the ceremony, and had reservations for dinner afterwards (my wife cried - tears of joy - I finally got it together as a husband) - Jerry Camp (kayaking out to sand banks and deserted islands to relax - we were literally the only ones there) - Ok, a close third one: the food (it was very tasty, fresh, and looked amazing) Looking back, the trip was beyond amazing (I think I will make it to our 16 year wedding anniversary) and the weather was perfect, but what truly made it spectacular was the people working at the resort (SPECIAL THANKS to Juni and Deo - Rocksail Resort is lucky to have them, and they have been there since the beginning). All the employees actually seemed to want to be there and genuinely wanted to help (waive with open hands, smiled, and slowed down in step), and never expected tips.

Hands down, the best vacation we have ever had! Sailrock Resort has ruined all of our future vacations because we don’t think that anything could ever be as fantastic and relaxing. Having access to two different beaches was amazing. Sitting on the wraparound deck at 9C was hypnotic due to the constant Atlantic ocean breeze. I looked down at my watch and saw my resting heart rate was 45, normally it's mid 50's. This place is the antidote to any stress. My wife cried because she was so happy. Every staff member is extremely friendly and helpful; they treat you like you are the only guests on the resort. Well, actually we were - which made this trip even more special. Sailrock is not your typical resort! You need a sense of adventure and an open mind to be able to take in all the beauty this resort has to offer. You most likely won’t have 200 people at the pool and another 200 on the beach on any given day. There will be no speedboat or Jetski noise; just donkeys, birds, ocean, a great staff and you….their special guest! #noregrets #nostress #noworries #nocares #paradisefound!! Thank you Anthony (GM), Putra, Kubir, Kerra, Yasmine, Kurly, Ashley, Big Mike, Jerome, Nidup, Pema, Francis and Yosa (Forgive me if I misspelled anyone’s name or left anyone out). You are all engraved in our hearts and memories forever. We will never forget celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with you all at your beautiful resort. Lovingly, Kenneth and Kimberly

We visited this place August 26th - Sept 3rd. When I write reviews I always consider that you aren’t going to get everything you have at home. So when considering our experience I feel like this place definitely has potential to be great! At this point I would say its about average. I want to be clear the staff is the exception to that rule. They really do care about guests and try to go above and beyond for the guests. I think the resort does recognize they have some improvements to do with communication and training of some staff members. The best part of the resort in my opinion is its secluded location. One should note that this resort is mostly geared towards couples and adults not kids. There is not a kids club or other specifically kid geared activities that other resorts offer. This place is for those who really want to unplug, get back nature and enjoy the company of the people you are traveling with on vacation. Room: We had a ridgetop view one bedroom. Some parts of the inside do look worn like the kitchen counters and vanity tops. The shower pressure is great however we did have a lizard in our tub one day. We didn’t keep the doors open due to the mosquitoes and seaweed smell can be strong at times but thats an option if you want to enjoy ocean breeze, The balcony was a great big wrap around with very comfortable furniture. The bed was perfect and we really enjoyed watching the sun rise from our bed! The espresso maker was probably over used because my husband loved it so much! We also brought our favorite ground coffee and they offered a French press for our room which was an exceptional touch. Also the resort offered us an upgrade to a villa which was very nice touch. We declined but the kind gesture didn’t go unnoticed Beach: The views really are what you are paying for…Atlantic on one side Carribean other on the other... Just amazingly beautiful! As others mentioned, There is seaweed on the Atlantic side that is beyond the resorts control. We saw a giant dump truck cleaning it out one day and a huge pile of seaweed less than a mile from the main area. We saw donkeys roaming the property at all hours munching on leaves. We would hear them make their loud “calls” randomly and we always got a good laugh. I would recommend that the droppings from the donkeys be cleaned from the beach if possible. Watch where you step. On the Caribbean side, there are jellyfish, lemon sharks, starfish, lizards among other creatures. Honestly the jellyfish kept us from swimming in the water but only because I have other allergies and I didn’t want to risk having a reaction and have no where to get treatment. There were other people swimming in the water but when we asked them they said they were just actively trying to avoid them so it didn’t seem to bother them at all. The beach offers kayaking, paddle boarding and hobbiecats. Food: We had a full sized fridge that was to be stocked upon arrival. It did take until day 2 for the food to arrive. I was told it was because some items were out of stock, For us that was just fine, however some communication about what what going on with that would had been nice. I had to call and get and updates. I also recognize that they had to have it sent on a private flight. We did eat at the restaurants and all of the food was really good. Pricey but very good. All the restaurants are outdoors so be prepared to eat in the elements/bugs ect. Check In/Check Out: this was easy and painless. There was a little issue with communication on the amount for the credit hold for incidentals and the amount due at check out but it was resolved rather quickly. Excursions: We had wanted to do the ATV guided tour and the s’mores on the beach but once we arrived were told they are no longer offered. They did offer another option but we declined. The resort I believe is trying hard and the things that I did mention can really can be overlooked. We had a great time here and would recommend to anyone who wants peace and quiet and isn’t upset by mild issues. Thank you Sailrock Staff and GM Anthony for providing us a lovely 9 days in paradise!

We stayed in a beachfront room for 4 nights/5 days. I recommend this as a couples destination much more than for families. If you want to unplug and chill on a less developed island, consider coming here. Otherwise, stay in Provo. Pros: the room itself was very clean and well decorated ;very friendly staff; good food at the beach bar and restaurant; water and water sports on the Caribbean side were great. Snorkeling expedition (off site) was the best thing we did (huge starfish, good reefs, iguana island). Cons: sargassum seaweed covered the beach and water in front of our room to where we couldn’t use that beach (I heard it’s like that all summer); the pool is by the lobby and main restaurant instead of near the beach, so no one uses it; there is no functional spa yet; had to take Polaris UTVs to get to the Caribbean beach (quiet golf carts would be much nicer); the local airport is basically two POD shipping containers with plastic lawn chairs and no AC on the airplane

We're glad that you enjoyed the accommodations but we do sincerely apologize for the seasonal sargassum that mars the one beach. We understand that our airport here in South Caicos leaves a bit to be desired (but hey... no lines! :) The new airport is currently under construction and will be completed in year's time.
