The private log cabin had a very comfy large bed, was equipped with a fire extinguisher, and had plenty of space to spread out all my gear. There were plenty of washrooms, wash stations and kitchen equipment for accommodating large or small groups entering and exiting. Coop living feel that was pleasant and not overly communal to the point of... More

With the whole family we rented a part of the hostel, like wooden chalets including a main centre for 'do it your self' cooking & meals. Lovely atmosphere, great base camp to visit the Alconquin Park.

My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights and 3 days in the Chickadee cabin. It was perfect for the two of us. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery and cooking pans. The only part that disappointed us was the fact we weren't able to contact the owners to inquire about trails. When we first arrived, the gentleman mentioned they... More

Hi Christina - I'm really sorry we weren't right there when you were looking for us. We often try to get out and enjoy Algonquin ourselves during the shoulder seasons when we have few guests staying. It's a shame our outing overlapped with the time you were trying to track us down. We normally give guests a full introduction to... More

This place and the owners are first rate! There are options for all budgets, but I especially like the square timber log cabins & the fireplaces within each - great ambiance esp. for the romantics like me! Jen & Jacque are super warm hosts, and real to the core. And, of course, you're only moments from the west gate of... More

My b.f and I rented the chickadee cabin for two days to explore the area and Algonquin. The location is perfect, the cabin was cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Lots of hiking/snowshoeing just off the property if you don't feel like driving. Jen recommended an unmarked trail just off their road and it was absolutely breathtaking, we had... More

Loved staying in the eco cabin. Jen and Joc were lovely hosts. The cabins were beautiful and had everything we needed. We visited in winter and hiked all over the park. They welcomed our dog and had a lovely dog too. Lovely design of the cabins and they thought of everything you could possibly need in the kitchen.

We have stayed here several times before, both in a lodge room and in one of the out buildings, and have been very happy with our accommodations, the property, amenities and of course, the wonderful hospitality of the owners. Most recently, we enjoyed a few nights in one of their cabins, located across the street from the main lodge. Beautiful... More

This hostel is located on the Oxtongue River near the west gate of Algonquin Park. The beds are comfortable and linen and towels are supplied. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the utensils you can dream of. There are 2 dining areas inside, picnic tables outside and propane bar-b-ques. It also has outdoor fire pits. I have stayed... More

I took my daughter and here friend here for a different experience than camping or a hotel. because it is a hostel, here you can choose to stay in a cabin or just a bed in a room in which you may not be the only guest. There is a main kitchen for everyone to use and places in it... More

I escape Toronto to enjoy some wilderness and fire pits. In Wolf's Den the manager is an unprofessional lady who comes at 1100pm and doses the fire in a provocative and rude way even if she sees a very quiet group sitting and enjoying the last 15 minutes of a dying fire. No matter what the regulations say she showed... More
