Stopped here the other day while doing the W Highland Way. In the planning stage, I wanted to walk past it but my traveling companion's daily mileage limit made it unavoidable. £100 to get a pretty basic twin room b&b with en suite is a reflection of their lack of competition for miles around. That said, I was expecting the... More

We recently completed a walk on the West Highland Way and used many bars, restaurants, B&B's and hotels along the route. We didn't stay here but it was the only place for Some lunch on our sixth day along the route. It was a lovely day, warm but with low hanging cloud that laid over the mountain tops like a... More

Stayed one night when walking The West Highland Way. Yes it looks a little worn around the edges but you can feel and sense the history of the place. We found the public areas had a great atmosphere where we met many of our fellow walkers. The service was friendly and the food very good. Our room was small and... More

Kings House Hotel is an old tired basic Hotel. It is located 10 minutes drive from Glencoe Mountain ski resort that should should give the owners an incentive to renovate the premises. The location has stunning scenery with views of the Glencoe and surrounding mountains, there is also a nice stream running through the property. The rooms are large and... More

What a wonderful place to stay, great welcome and friendly staff. The atmosphere in the bar and the food was brilliant. I cannot speak highly enough of such an amazing place, even the deer were friendly. Wifi and mobile reception was very poor, but who needs a phone with such great people sharing stories of their walks we could have... More

This hotel has a beautiful location, but is very run down. Our rooms were old and dirty. I think this hotel only survives because of the West Highland Way walkers. Our friends nicknamed this hotel the Kings Horses hotel, it was more fitting for horses than a king:-) It’s a pity because this hotel could be really fantastic with a... More

Having driven across Rannoch Moor and past the King's House over recent years more times than I can count, whilst visiting family in the area, we decided to take a couple of nights here on the way home, to do some walking with our dog. After reading all the reviews, we were a little nervous about what we would find.... More

This is one point on the West Highland Way where walkers have virtually no choice - and it shows. Service is skimpy, and the rooms are poorly maintained. Wi-Fi exists in about one chair and nowhere else. We sat near the one public computer point for 3 hours while it was used by a single person - who turned out... More

This Hotel is a complete disgrace and embarrassment to Scottish Tourism, relying on the splendid and isolated location. If this were anywhere else it would be closed down! Most of the staff are friendly (the only positive) however the the majority looked scruffy and some were sullen (cant blame them, what a dump to have to work in). This is... More

We are sorry that your stay was unsatisfactory. You may be aware the the hotel has recently changed hands and the new owners are currently looking at how things can be improved. We are aware that the building is an old one, in need of much attention and care. There are some things that can be changed quickly, but others... More
