Disaster. Do not stay here. Sweet view. Decent price, but beginning at 5pm or so, a DJ is on the open air roof blasting terrible music with a BASS that permeates the entire hotel, so basically, you cannot sleep, The front desk lied to me and said it was the restaurant next door, but, I took the elevator up to the top and sure enough, 8 people are drinking and the entire hotel has to put up with POUNDING BASS into the night. Impossible to sleep. Almost drove off in the middle of last night, and tonight, will drive back to Lisboa where it is WAY quieter. What kind of ridiculous management has not figured this out? Other reviews I have read talk about this. A NO GO. Do NOT stay here. Sad .cause otherwise, could be lovely.
Having stayed here in 2019 we were looking forward to our trip here again. The rooms were the same as last time, clean and comfortable however looking a little dated. There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room and an charge of €2 for coffee room service. The indoor spa area was closed- this was something that no-one had informed us on booking. The roof top sun area was also closed unfortunately. The breakfast was good with hot and continental choice- really liked the pancakes. Lunch by the pool was really tasty. The staff were friendly throughout especially front desk and the bar. Cocktails were great and good selection of drinks. I didn't see the Red Dragon restaurant (part of the hotel) open at all whilst there. The local area is tired in some places but maybe once the tourism picks up again this will improve. The walk along the beach front is great and a good few places to stop for drinks and snacks. …
Stayed 4 nights with my son. Excellent location. Gym brilliant and new equipment. Pool nice. Staff v friendly Downside 1) breakfast - 2-3 star not 4. Coffee undrinkable. Limited options. No egg station. Overpriced within the room price and the last mornings we walked into town for coffee and pastry Would not take too much cost to improve significantly 2) beds....way too soft. Both my son and I had uncomfortable nights. Think they need new mattresses or invest in mattress with firm/support not the cheapest. Improving these two points and it is 4 star Currently overpriced for what you get but little alternative in the area.
Very good hotel. Fresh clean towels daily comfy bed and breakfast was plenty. Great location on lovely beach we found taxi is cheap to get to the city. We had wrong room type but was sorted out in mins. Smelt very fresh when we walked in. Would go again
We chose this hotel to be buy the airport for return flight to U.S. and not be in downtown Lisbon. It is a large hotel with plenty of guests from all over the world - very international feel to it. The room is big enough, the bathroom also good. The breakfast buffet was tremendous with anything you could possibly want. Now for the cons. We never had hot water in the bathroom for the two days we were there. Reported it the first day and front desk indicated that it was being fixed throughout the hotel "within five minutes." Not. We needed a COVID test for return travel and inquired at front desk for best place. Was told two locations - one walkable, one 3 miles away. We went to the walkable one, not sure it offered COVID tests, and found another clinic with a sign "COVID testing." a block away. Why did the front desk not know this? The pool - packed in the afternoon and odd. Super shallow then super deep quickly. Hard to swim in. Parking was available across the street which was a pleasant surprise. Would I stay here again? No. …
The hotel is ok...that's it. It's a beautiful location, the hotel is clean, the gym was good, and the staff is nice, but the hotel itself is not exactly 4 stars. The food at the hotel, especially the vegan options, was at best blan. The pool was mostly closed which was a shame.. As for the room...I reserved one of the more expensive rooms in the hotel and yet... The bed was not extremely comfortable. The electric sockets were not very convenient and worst of all was the bathroom. And the bathroom was not new..it was broken and the glass partition kept closing into the bath making it very difficult to shower. Seemed more like a 3 stars hotel to me
Had a really experience in this hotel particularly because of the wonderful staff. From Carla and colleagues in reception to the wonderful bar staff to the fabulous waiting staff in the restaurant. We were made feel very welcome and they could not do enough. Breakfast was fabulous as were the cocktails. Pity the pool was closed but the sea is just across the road so it was perfect.
Date: 16 to 20 March 2022 Complaint: Service and respect of all clients We have stayed in the Tryp Lisbon Hotel from March 16th to March 19th ( Normally we had booked from March 16 th till March 20 th ) On March 18th we were woken up around 11 pm by loud music and a private party on the 8th floor. After several complains they did not stop the music or even quite down. The bouncing and beat of drums was going on to deep in the night The Party and music went on after 4 Am. Than the guests went to the rooms and walked through the hallway making the noise as in the party. We tried in the middle of the Night to get in contact with the manager but the manager for room division advised her staff that we could check out but the private party was normal. The Manager did not want to come to the phone to talk to me. She went to bed and had a good night rest. I assume she does not sleep in a Disco!!! The staff had to deal with us. The staff advised the only thing they could do is that we can check out and get the money back for the 18th and 19th. They promised us that the manager was going to be in the hotel the next day at 9 am. The next day we tried to talk to the manager again but she did not show up and the general manager was not being able to reach. It is clearly for me that the hotel has decided clearly that they do not care about what a hotel is for and cater to the service for each guest in the Hotel. A hotel is a place to relax and sleep in same or better comfort as home. ( I am not living next to a disco and have music after 10 pm loudly in the street as it is forbidden) Complaint: Manager Room Division: She is not manager as she makes her staff handle difficult situations and does not engage with client to resolve the matter. Not avaliable at night for the guest sand she does not show up next day. The (NOT) handling of complaint: Hotel offered only one night back and if we checked out the remaining night as well. To give back the 1 night values me as client that my night of rest 34.50 euro pp and tells me that we care about money for the many and not the individual client. Furthermore, they did not comply in their own hotel with the general rules. If one would have a disco or DJ in a hotel they would adopt the noise of the hotel so no other guests would have to hear the drums deep in the night. In addition, a normal party would finish at 1 or 2 am and not at 4 am!!! The managers and decision to have this party happening they took a considered step to book the party and the rooms and chose the money and forgot all the standards of a hotel of the Melia and Wyndham group to service each client and consider all matters. As in Portugal the mask wearing in hotels in public areas is still required. The hotel ignored these rules for the party group and let these guests stroll through the hotel without any masks. Another clear sign that the hotel managers only looked away and that money was their only vision and client comfort is thrown overboard. This hotel and their managers are not worth being part of your hotel group as they do not understand the meaning of hospitality and managing!!!…
My partner and I stayed here for 4 days in February 2022 for a short break away. I was blown away by the hotel. It was beautiful and perfectly located. We also had a sea view room and got to see the sunrise and sunset from our room every day. We ate in the hotel on one of the evenings and it was delicious. Definitely more expensive than the restaurants around but that is to be expected. We also got room service one of the days for lunch. The portions were huge so be mindful of that when ordering. One meal would have done the 2 of us.
Hotel was spotless. We went B&B, the breakfast was great, it can get busy later on, the staff are amazing, wizzing around keeping everything stocked and cleaning up. The room was cleaned every day. The view from the sea view balcony was fabulous. Hotel: great. Staff: amazing. This should have been a no-brainer five star review but for one thing. THE WiFi!!!! or lack of, the wifi reaches about 4 foot past the door of the apt. So you can pull a chair down into the hall, or sit on the toilet. Believing there was WiFi in the room was a big part of why we booked it. It drove me nuts trying to get a steady usable signal. All information for the hotel (restaurant menus, etc) are accessed using a qr code in the room using WIFI🥶 the code is about 12 foot into the room, you scan it then quicky move down the hall to connect. What's annoying is, if it's in the hallway, and kinda in the start of the room, just a tiny bit more effort and it could be in the whole room. Anyhow, star decucted for that. It's 2021, sort it out!!! …
