We've been staying here for three nights as part of a 10-day multi-lake holiday we booked at the Dutch ANWB.

As soon as you enter the hotel, everything looks and feels like at least a 4-star experience. The lobby looks modern and well designed and the indoor swimming pool with bubble bath and swim jets is absolutely marvelous. And did I mention the view from the pool on the lake? Also, if the weather is great, you can sit in the sun overlooking the lake in one of the many loungers or enjoy the outside hot tub. And if the weather isn't that great, you can take a workout in the gym which is sports premium equipment and plenty of dumbbells.

The same can be said about breakfast and dinner. Everything is way above the level you would expect from a 3-star hotel. If you count the soup as a separate course, you can say that you'll get a 5-course dinner. It starts with an extensive open buffet with salads, vegetables, and some cold snacks. Then it's off to an intermediate warm course followed by the main one. For the main course you get two options (which you select during breakfast). Dinner completes with a dessert. As is common in most hotels, drinks are not included.

But this entire feeling changes when you enter your room. Although it's meticulously cleaned and the bathroom is separate from the toilet, everything looks dated. There's no air-conditioning, no minibar and the wifi is practically unusable. It almost feels like they want you to stay away from your room and spend a lot of money on drinks in the restaurant/bar.

If the latter was resolved, I would give this hotel a five star rating. But with the outdated rooms, lack of airconditioning, minibar and decent wifi, I would not recommend this hotel for more than 2 or 3 nights. And that's a shame, because the rest truly deserves 5 stars.

Pros:
* Very friendly staff
* Great gym
* Beautiful indoor swimming pool with outdoor hot tub
* The food is absolutely astonishing
* You get complimentary Sudtirol AltoAdige Guest Passes that you can use to freely use public transport
* Decently priced
* Free parking
* Free towels for use at the swimming pool
* Separate toilet and bathroom
* Plenty of places to hang clothes and wet towels
* Various power sockets compatible with type C devices.

Cons:
* You have to pay 10 euros per bath robe for the entire stay
* The wifi is practically unusable from room 109.
* The lake view rooms get pretty warm, even if it's only 20 degrees outside.
* The beds are pretty hard and there are no extra pillows in the closets.
* Although public transport is free using the guest card, you'll need a car to get anywhere. The hotel itself is way outside the range of shops, restaurants and bars.

Tips:
* You get a huge discount at the minigolf Spielgolf Welsberg near the hotel using your AltoAdige guest card.
* We also recommend renting a little boat to enjoy the Lake Braies (Pragser Wildsee). It'll cost you 50 euros for 30 minutes. And complete that trip by taking a walk around the lake. We took our kids and completed it in about 90 minutes.

This is fully 3* hotel. a bit away from evening adventures, but this is the choice of anyone. very clean and large rooms with TV, balcony, and those with lake view and Kronplatz are extraordinary ones. Just 10 min to drive to slopes. Breakfast sufficient, sometimes lack of things that were already consumed. Dinner more than very good, 5 courses are very ambitious ! Nice staff all the time. Great pool, whirlpool and sauna - all this is OK with some comments. Comments : The problem is dimensions - 1) sauna is very small in terms of expected 70-80+ visitors, of which 15% would like to sauna. 2) The same is whirlpool. 3) service at restaurant is underestimated. Those 2 lady were making the best but unable to manage all in time. 4) buffet needs to be re-filled in order to serve the same level to those guests coming later and 5) hotel needs to care more about access road - if there is is snowfall during the night, and you do not have 4x4 car, you have a problem. Since this was not our problem, we were satisfied. Thinking about return in some time.

We had room # 309.The room was very large,everything worked.The food was the best I ve had in a long time. The prices we re very good. The cook even prepared a special Italian pasta that wasn't on the menu and did a superb job.Service was very timely and the portions more than most hotels I ve stayed in..The desk clerk even phoned my next hotel in,Asiago, to stay in.We wanted to stay another day but unfortunately they were all booked.The hotel overlooked a artificial lake that I used to fish in many years ago when I was in the military stationed in Vicenza..This hotel is a must to stay at when visiting the southern Tyrol. I was staying there for my ski holiday in valdaora. The hotel has some pluses and a lot of minuses.
Pluses are: big rooms, extremely nice views and is very clean. Minuses: no wifi internet in rooms....bad food, very economical with amenities in the bathroom as we got only 2 BARS of soap and 2 small shampoo envelopes for a 7 nights stay, bad beds( mattresses) as well as the pillows, old and bad towels in the room, not enough towels into the sauna and pool area.....over all is true that is the 8th hotel into the place...from 8 possible....too bad....

We stayed in the week of March and it was a very nice experience. Splendid hotel. Excellent clean and large rooms. Very welcoming and kind staff. Excellent breakfast. Exquisite dinners prepared by a chef very gifted in the art of cooking. Customers were very pleased with the card that allows them to travel on South Tyrolean transport. Thank you and see you from Stefano and Paola

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful and spotless family-run property complete with everything you need to relax (swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation area) and in a strategic position for those like me who love the Pusteria Valley. The family Ellemunter was friendly and kindly satisfied our requests when we had a specific need. Hotel to be absolutely recommended
