Gorgeous hotel with a nice garden and swimming pool. Staff was very friendly. Barman gave great service and had some really good wine on offer. Restaurant is located nearby in an old windmill building giving it a unique atmosphere. Definitely worthwhile.

This place has some pretty views of the islands and coast, but it is not on a beach. It is on a salt marsh which is pretty in its own right. The pool area is small but peaceful. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is quite nice and the bar has a good selection of local wines. This place is... More

We stayed here one night. A simple, clean, well run hotel. Our room had a great view of the salt works and windmill. Good breakfast! It is off the beaten track. However, thanks to Google Maps we found our way right to the front door.

Great Location, good service. Wonderful food. Cannot recommend highly enough. The restaurant is about 200 meters from the hotel and serves excellent Italian food. The location is on the edge of a romantic view of the sea and some salt flats.

Beautiful surroundings, excellent and helpful staff - served a glass of wine even at 2am after our late and exausted arrival :) Tasteful breakfast that you can enjoy at the pool - first strawberries, riccota tart and so on.

It is difficult to find this hotel even with GPS, there is signage but it did not help much. The easiest way to find this hotel is ask for the "windmill" (salt mine/flat museum). Be Careful and don't drive too fast when you enter the hotel as there are small rocks and can be quite dangerous m if you don't... More

Located in the middle of the Saline (saltworks), the hotel is very nice, clean and confortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The view from the room was very scenic. Interesting visit at nearby museum of saltworks: a very skilled guide gave us full of information about everything you may want to know about salt and saltworkers. Very convenient location... More

We stayed here for 1 night and really found it comfortable and friendly. The service was excellent in the evening and at breakfast. The rooms are very spacious and the bed comfortable - we even had a sofa plus table and chairs for 2 in the room. Bathroom and air conditioning facilities also very new, modern and working well. The... More

This small hotel has wonderful views of the salt pans, and is very near the Salt Museum, which is well worth a visit. We had a beautiful, corner room, with views out to sea, from the bedroom, and across the salt pans from the bathroom. The breakfast was a very well presented buffet, with a wide variety of things to... More

Wonderful setting among salt pans, great staff, generous breakfast, easy parking, charming building, too bad the restaurant was closed, but the staff recommended a restaurant a short drive away, great experience overall.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The baglio (farmhouse) of Marquise Platamone can be found in Trapani and Paceco Salt Pan Nature Reserve. It is located a short distance from the sea, overlooking the Egadi archipelago that, in 241 B.C., Was the site of the naval battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians. In more recent years it has been the location of the 32nd America's Cup sailing contest. The careful renovation which has been carried out to convert the farm house into accommodation facilities has preserved both the environment and the genuine characteristics of Sicilian tradition. The Relais Antiche Saline is halfway between Trapani airport and the city centre, only a few kilometers from both.In fact, in only 10 minutes you can get to Nubia and arrive at the Relais. ... more   less
