This hotel has a very good location. Rooms are basic but reasonable value for the price. No hand soap in the bathroom - easily remedied by a trip to the local supermarket, but seems like a big and easily fixed omission. A lot of ants, particularly around the toilet, which would seem to be easily fixed by some caulking or something. (Improved with spraying but had to do this a couple of times). Yoga was a disappointment - teacher was very good, but loud construction noises next door which made the classes unpleasant - nothing the hotel can do about this but wait, but was a shame as we had to go/pay elsewhere for the yoga we were planning on. All that said, I would come here again.

Located in the best location of North Playa Guiones in Nosara, Costa Rica, Kaya Sol is a gem!! The rooms are surf chic, and I stayed in Casita Tortuga, which had a queen bed, bunk bed, and loft with another bed, plus a full kitchen with blender and nice new appliances - which was so nice as I brought a bunch of fruit for smoothies from farm stands on my drive into town. I woke up to the sound of monkeys and being steps from the beach is perfect for surfers like me. The yoga space at Iluminar Yoga Resort across the street, the sister property to Kaya Sol, is gorgeous and the perfect place to take a post-surf yoga class. I love the Kundalini Yoga classes here and the dances that happen in some evenings - it's a really nice community the owners of this hotel Ryan and Sohan have created. Also one of the stand-out features of this hotel is Naked Foods next door - the chef JP is amazing and it is hands down one of the best vegan, organic restaurants in all of Nosara. I feel taken care of, nourished, and relaxed. The space feels super safe - there is a security guard and all the staff here is super sweet and helpful. I love the proximity to the beach - you really can't beat the location and price for all you're getting when you stay at Kaya Sol!

We had a great stay at KayaSol. We loved the low-key, relaxed atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, nice pool, and excellent location. It really is only 3 minutes to the beach. The staff were friendly and always made us feel welcome. It was generally quiet. We were often the only people in the pool. Very close to restaurants and only a 20 min walk along the beach to the tourist shops. We highly recommend!

We had a great two week stay in KaySol the end of January and first week of February. KayaSol is the perfect location, one block off the main road with restaurants and shops and a short walk to the beach down a secluded path. We rented Casa Concha, the two bedroom casita which had a small courtyard with table and hammock to enjoy the outdoor life. We really appreciated the Costa Rican coffee served each morning in the restaurant which we would drink in the courtyard while looking for iguanas and howler monkeys. The unit had a kitchen which helped to have breakfast items and cold beers and snacks available. The grounds are kept immaculate, the maintenance man worked all day keeping the place looking pristine. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly and arranged transport and birthday dinner reservations for us. The pool is a lovely sanctuary, hidden in the trees so there’s always respite from the sun if you seek it. They have a large open air room which used to be the restaurant (which has now moved to the side of the resort), so now it’s not used for much. It would be good to see that being used as a place for live music, or some sort of activity since it’s such a large lovely space. I thought I’d give a few pointers which were questions I had before coming, so hopefully they’ll help you plan your trip. Beach/pool towels are provided, so no need to bring those along. No hair dryer in our unit, so I quickly adopted a “beach look”and let all that go. There was a shortage of hangers so it may be handy to pack some if you’re staying a while. Our room had seven for three people, not enough for a two week stay. Also, bring along or pick up ice cube trays if you want ice for drinks. We picked up a set at the grocery store in Nosara. When we stayed it was dry season, they come by and spray molasses on the streets to keep the dust down. So I ended up wearing one pair of flip flops which I tossed at the end of the stay, I’d suggest bringing two pairs you can toss so you don’t ruin any nicer shoes. Such a sweet smell in the air when they spray! Our whole stay was lovely, and I only had one issue. There is a locked gate on both ends of the private beach path which you have the code for. But for some reason the lock wasn’t working our last few days, so we were locked out on the beach side from getting back to our casita several times. It was a little inconvenient to be carrying boogie boards and beach stuff back after sunset in the dark and find out the gate wouldn’t open. All in all a lovely authentically Costa Rican place to stay.

This place is super family friendly, has a great pool, super clean rooms, staff is awesome, helpful, and friendly. The owners are great and always accommodating and recommending fun exciting things to do in the Nosara area. Unreal food at Nakedfoods cafe that JP cooks up. Great brand new yoga rancho and class schedule that fits all needs. Also kids art camp a few days a week that gave my wife and I some kid free time! How’s that! Surf is right down the path and super fun year round. We already booked a return trip and my two boys are stoked .
