Very poor experience with this hostel. - toilet area is very dirty - two mornings that the sink and toilet has vomit all over and they wait until 9am for it to be cleaned. You have to wait because it's a shared bathroom and you have nowhere else to go to. - asked someone to mop our room and they're asking for 50 pesos upfront to mop the very small walking area of the room - the veranda lock is not working. This was a major security concern. - our friend lost her wallet and we asked if we can review the cctv, but the people on the front desk said that the cctv can't be played back. So what's the point of that? - staff were unpleasant and not accommodating at all. Even when we reported the problem, it seemed like it's a usual event for them and even mentioned in the front desk "may nawala na naman".

We booked there last Saturday 14th of December and parked my car overnight and just to find out that one of their customer scratched my car big time and they did not even reported it. No action taken from them at the moment. This review will be updated once there's an action from their management team.

We booked an 8-bedroom dorm and it was pretty decent for a hostel. I loved the spacious garden outside the building the most. I’m not fond of hostels since I don’t really like the concept of shared bathrooms but the shared toilet/showers were quite clean so it was fine with me. The hostel is also in a good location. One main issue I had was that the key card was malfunctioning. The lock on our door jammed a few times and I even got locked inside our room. We had to have our key reactivated and it was a hassle since the staff weren’t exactly friendly. Overall, don’t expect any facilities and stellar service. It’s just a bed to stay for the evening.

The hostel is very much instagrammable due to the presence of a plane in the area. The staff seem nice, but I didn’t get to interact with them much. We booked 2 beds in a 4 person room. The room had an a/c which you can adjust as it can get a bit too cold especially in the evenings. The rooms were clean, but it felt a bit empty as it were just plain beds. No couch or some place to sit. I feel that it was a waste of space. Each room had a balcony to maybe dry your clothes on. Each cubicle was spacious enough to move around. The beds however were a bit too hard, and the blanket quite thin. I found the locker (on the foot of the bed and below the bed) to be a little inconvenient. Sockets are located inside the locker on the foot of your bed. Additionally, the lockers below the bed do not have any drawers. It’s merely a cabinet with a concrete floor to store your bags. You have to bring your own towel. They do not provide basic amenities such as soap to wash your hands, shampoo, toilet papers, etc. It may sound demanding but paying around 900 pesos a night seem too much. I’ve stayed in cheaper hostels that provide these...and basic breakfast. There were only 2 toilets in the female CR. Again, no tissue provided but there was a bidet. The cubicle was a bit too small as my legs were hitting the door. Toilets were also where the shower area is. I found the CR a bit too basic and run down. There was also no area for you to change after showering so potentially, you’ll wet your change of clothing. The division between each shower was quite low so tall people may find it uncomfortable. I also have to mention the noise. The rooms are not soundproof. Someone did a team building activity while we were checked in and we could hear everything. At night when the hostel’s bar is playing some music, we could still hear it. In one of the nights, they played music until approximately 1.30AM.

it’s summer and the beach is callin’ all ‘em metropolis lovies to come and have fun under the sun! admit it there are a lot of places to visit in the Philippines this time of year, our 7k+ islands are home to the best and breath-taking shorelines that both international and local people flock to and one of those must visit places near the metro is lovely La Union. dubbed as a surfing capital because of its rowdy waves, La Union is a playground for ‘em people who love the sand, salt, surf and sun. commuting here is a breeze for it’s just a 5-hour bus ride from Cubao to Urbiztondo and whala! we’ve reached our accommodation, Charlie’s hangar surf hostel. it’s an aviation-themed hostel and it’s very affordable too, not compromising the facilities and service that the staff extended to us and what’s wonderful is that, it’s a beach-front property!! we called to reserve the 6-bunk bed room for 850/night and it did not disappoint (though i wished there couldve been a small table inside or cabinet to place all our bags/luggage). clean sheets, BRR air-conditioning, small terrace, clean common c/r, amazing common seating places, fast wi-fi, charging deck and cold potable water were the commendable facilities this hostel offered. if hunger strikes, you can order from their bar or walk a few meters towards the main road for that strip of restos. it was my first time in LU and i was really impressed w/ our hostel of choice and defo recommended to all y’all planning to get lost one weekend here in LU, of course booking at Charlie’s!
