BEACH AND CLIFFS - Located in the wildest and most natural part of the island, between a long stretch of bone-white beach and unique coral caves, the resort offers its lucky guests a wonderful haven of quietness, exclusiveness and privacy. SEA AND AMBIENCE - The facility is made up of several blocks completely overlooking the splendid Kizimkazi bay. The charming, intimate and peaceful atmosphere, along with the location and the respectful size of the hotel towards the island's nature make it the ideal place to spend a pleasant and relaxing holiday. Your heart will be touched by unforgettable colours and fragrances. WELCOME AND CATERING - Upon your arrival, a beautiful boulevard will lead you straight to the Main Hall, with a high makuti roof supporting the whole structure. On your left, you will find the "Frangipani" Main Restaurant, followed by 18 Deluxe rooms and other buildings leading to the cliff-edge which overlooks falling the Indian Ocean. On your right, you come to the "Vanilla Center", a multi-service complex including the Boutique, the Fitness Studio and the Library with Internetpoint, located between the Reception and 12 more Deluxe rooms, laid out across two floors which take you up to a luscious green. A second charming restaurant faces over the crystal clear water of the central pool, just in front of the Hall and behind the long natural wooden jetty which slips into the waves of Kizimkazi bay. POOLS, SPA & WELLBEING - Pools are one of our flagships. The main pool, which we love to define as "a sea in the sea" gives a unique relaxing sensation with its large lagoon area which is amongst the biggest on the island. Two additional pools with a hydromassage facility are for the exclusive use of the villa's fortunate guests. Our Jungle SPA, wrapped up into the exuberant green of the surrounding nature, will increase the sensation of wellbeing induced by massages and treatments from our operators. Treatment pavilions, one well equipped, air conditioned gym and a fascinating relaxation room are available to our guests. The search for physical stead and psychophysical wellness will be fulfilled by a selection of physical activities.

Amazing place in Zanzibar where to stay and unforgettable experience of our Honeymoon. 🥰 We stayed there for sixth days in Honeymoon villa. Everything there was so good, the food, drinks, property, nature and people were perfect! That hospitality was a great experience for us, because this kind of kindness and politeness we saw at first time in our lives. This was perfect place for Honeymoon, the dinners on the top of the ocean with sunset, the breakfasts with warm wind on the terrace of our villa! We got a new friends there, John, Kephase and others who made our days wonderful! 🤗☺️ Even the information what they gave us was so good and important! For example the contact information for Safari was perfect - the company Nature’s Land Safari with ranger Innocent made unexpected Safari experience for three day’s. We are so thankful for everything! We love you guys and hope to see you again one day! We suggest everyone once in a lifetime visit this place. ❤️ Any dollar what we spent on this six days was worth of it! And we know that in few years we will go back to remind ourselves about our new star like a family 🥰❤️

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this resort. We were recommended it by friends who came a few years ago and they can’t believe the experience we had. Standards must have dropped over time. While there were some amazing points (the location/views were beautiful and upon arrival our room was upgraded and it was an amazing room). Sadly it was end of season and everyone seemed to be finishing up. A few major points: there were no water sports as they were all under maintenance - when we raised this with the manager he told us the website doesn’t say there are water sports as they haven’t been happening for quite some time. We had to show him where on the website it said there was water sports and his response was something along the lines of “oh well the marketing team should have taken them off as instructed.” We were also promised a buffet dinner every night, on the last two nights they came around and offered us an option 3 mains. Again when we spoke to the manager he said because there wasn’t enough people staying - fine l, but how can we go from a buffet to 3 options for mains? When this was brought to the managers attention he told us but you could have asked the chef for anything... how were we to know this and why were we given a menu with 3 things? On top of that, the food was below average. We finally found that we enjoyed the fries for lunch and when we ordered a second time were told they had ran out. I could go on and on but our final disappointment was the service, we found we always had to find the staff and go to them to ask for a drink or some food and it always felt like we were hassling them. We would to and sit at the pool bar at a table less than a metre away from the bar where the server was and would still have to get up and go to the bar to ask for menus and then again to place our order. Maybe our expectations were too high here but for the amount of money and type of resort we did think we would at least be asked if we would like a drink at some stage. On our final night we went to the beach bar for a drink at 5 and it was all packed away and she said we couldn’t have a drink (we had previously been told it was open until 8). We also raised this with the manager and he called over the girl and asked what time they should close and she said 8, then asked what time they closed and she said 5, when asked why she said there were no guests... we were paying guests who came for a drink during opening times and disregarded because the hotel was closing for the season. Finally when voicing our disappointment to the manager we were met with a lot of buts and excuses and we had to say we aren’t looking for a debate, we are telling you the facts of what our stay has been like. We left with such a negative feeling. Finally he came back and said he could refund the amount of our transfer which was good (I think he actually gave us a bit more) but at the end of the day it doesn’t cover the 3 nights of our holidays we wasted at this resort. In the end the manager actually ended up saying he didn’t think the hotel was up to standards either and he was sorry for the guests that stayed there?!? I really hope our experience was just because of the ending season but I would not recommend it to anyone after our experience. I’m sorry to leave a negative review but I’d hate to think of other people going with high expectations and to be met with an experience like ours. PS some of the staff were lovely and very friendly but most of the servers were unhappy to serve us.

Facility is very clean, natural environment allover around the resort: greens, blue water, wild virgin life around. Team are super nice and friendly, We have booked Jungle Villa which we do really recommend.. with Jungle experience. Our butler -“John” was a magician for our stay, he is always smiling, helpful and careful, always a minute away from us, he anticipates our needs and seeks our complete satisfaction and relaxation.

DO NOT STAY HERE THIS RESORT ROBBED US. I never thought I could be so disappointed in a resort. I would give the “resort” zero stars if that were an option. Coming from someone that travels the world pretty regularly and even stayed at multiple resorts while staying in Zanzibar, I can say that fruit and spice is a waste of money and probably one of the worst resorts in Zanzibar , it is nowhere near a 5 star resort. Aesthetically pleasing yes, but with staff were terrible, you have to chase down for service and they never go the extra mile to ensure your stay is going well. We had many issues with fruit and spice here’s our list * We were ROBBED on the first night - we had arrived that night and put our bags in our room closed our curtains locked our door and put up a do not disturb sign (we were at dinner for 30 mins max) we returned to our bags opened - our wallets raided and our door unlocked so not only do they steal but they also don’t respect the do not disturb sign. * NOT ONLY DID THE STAFF ROB US BUT THE RESORT ALSO ROBBED US. we changed our reservation 12 days prior to arrival and they guaranteed us a refund for the night we removed (thank god we removed a night it was that terrible.) but upon arrival they postponed the refund everyday and then denied it through our third party when we left and acted stupid over the phone as well as WhatsApp like they couldn’t recall it. We have still not received our refund from this 0star resort. * Tells you times for meals and then never serve at that time (were late 30/45mins every night) * no reception phone in rooms (not that reception even helps.) - we asked for a bandaid on night one and were ensured it would be brought to the room.. it never arrived and we asked everyday (so note to self lacking first aid) * The bedding and towels are disgusting quality. Towels are scratchy and half bleached and the bedding (if you can call it that - all you get is a sheet and ONE fibre filled PILLOW PER PERSON - I mean not even feather quality but only one pillow and a sheet….there is no give in the pillow and you need a chiropractor appointment the morning after. * takes 45 mins to get a beverage, that’s if the bar is even open. If you order a water bottle you will be waiting 15minutes because everyone is so lazy and uninterested. * Lunch menu is the same every day and the menu is like off a kiddies restaurant menu. It’s less than appetising and flavour less. Definitely avoid the fruit and spice at all costs Rather book at the double tree by Hilton in nungwi - staff are amazing ! Food is amazing! Service is 10 stars ! Bedding and rooms are at a much higher standard and reception actually works 😂

nestled away in south of Zanzibar, this resort is truly paradise. the resort decor and ambience has maximised the use of natural availabilities and created a textural masterpiece. the beach for example looks like a magical oasis through a small door. truly gorgeous. the staff was exceptional, John Richard who was our personal butler truly made our comfort his priority- we are ever so grateful to him and his fantastic hospitality.

There are good resorts and then there are great ones. Fruit & Spice is the later. It depends not only upon the great rooms, beautiful gardens, calm beach and generous kitchen but mostly upon the spirit of the welcoming staff; they all want your stay to be something special and extraordinary. We loved every minute and hope to come back some day. Sofia Strömberg and family

We had booked 5 nights/5 days at the resort and we enjoyed it very much. There was an issue at check-in but the management behavior was "let me see how we can solve the issue" rather than "sorry we cannot do anything". This set the tone for our stay and we had a great time. We were traveling with young children and a one year old baby and the staff was very caring and attentive to our needs. The staff is really friendly, one of the managers (Marcello) is everywhere all the time taking care of any issues that may arise so you can really feel relaxed. The food is excellent, the beach is very nice (including a jacuzzi), the breakfast is plenty. We had a villa (501) which was very spacious with easy access to all facilities. There is a Masai settlement right next to the resort with provides an amazing experience. Only the road to the resort could really be improved (15 minutes of a bumpy drive...). We had a great time and can recommend the resort for families with kids

Pros: - We have booked a 2 bedroom villa with private pool. The villa is spacious with amazing view, the pool is well maintained, with private access stairs to the beach where you can snorkel at high tide. - The service was good and the private butler was helpful. - The sandy beach, few minutes walk from the hotel, is nice, clean and good for swimming at high tide. Cons: - We didn’t enjoy the food. The main restaurant served buffet breakfast and dinner with no variety, food was not tasty. Lunch was only served at the pool restaurant, a very limited la carte. - The towels and bed sheets were not so clean. - The access from the main road to the hotel is a bumpy gravel road with 20 minutes drive.

The worst hotel management i have ever encountered! We stayed in Exclusive Villa, all inclusive for a week with my boyfriend. AC wasn’t working properly. Room telephone wasn’t working we had to go to the reception for everything. They couldn’t provide vegetarian food options. Lunch was ok but it was the same menu everyday. Dinner had limited food options, tasting bad and lacking flavour. They’re not refilling bowls, it feels like you’re eating leftovers. Pool bar was too slow. It takes 25-30mins to make an aperol spritz. Although we were all inclusive, they wanted us to pay the wine we had at the dinners. Their reason was because they left the wine bottles at our table.. It’s a wellness resort but there’s nothing about wellness/ health in the hotel. Spa was horrible. We had a couples massage. Their mobiles were ringing during our massage, other staffs were speaking loud next to our spa lounge, towels were looking dirty like they were used for other customers before. Lounges at the pool and on the beach were dirty all the time. At 9:30am still they cannot provide you beach towels. We complained to the GM after staying 3 days, but nothing changed.. Don’t let the photos to deceive you. Avoid this place!
