On a coral outcrop above the sea, and surrounded by baobab - its a few steps to the pool, exceptional food, a low tide beach and a PADI dive master. Staff are attentive to every need. Use it as a base for getting to know the south, visiting dolphins or nearby islands. And only an hour from the spice farms.... More

Just back from safari followed by a very relaxed stay at Unguja Lodge. Highly recommended. We were welcomed by Martin and the team who were magnificent. The whole team were so friendly and made us feel at home from the first minute. The rooms are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The food is incredible and we enjoyed lobster,... More

Went to rest and not be bombarded with people, JUST THE PLACE. Except the diving crew and the diving was just TOOO good to not take full advantage! Six dives, including a night dive, was wow! The tone of the place, IS RELAX! The cottages are very different, but perfect. Everything was perfect... except maybe the breakfast..little monotonous,,, but... cant... More

Dear Sharron and Gordon, Thank you so much for your positive review. We are very proud of our diving crew and our instructor Said, also because they are one of the few if not the only completely 'local' crew on the island. Zanzibar is not commonly known for diving, but Menai Bay is grossly underestimated as dive destination. We have... More

We stayed the beginning of March and were the only guests on the property. Originally, we had planned on 2 days in Zanzibar, but when I saw the pictures, we opted for 4 days. The pictures definitely do NOT do it justice. The villas are simply amazing. You must watch for the "naughty" monkeys, but if you keep your valuables... More

What an amazing place! property consisting of 8 private villas, set in Zanzibars natural habitat. Little naughty monkeys running around, (lizards not scary) tiny antelopes and a view to die for. Sunsets and sunrises that are truly magical with dolphin spotting early in the morning! All villas are super stylish with attention to the smallest details such as, tea and... More

I stayed at Unguja Lodge with my wife and daughters, in a beautifull villa for all us, with incredible views. The hotel is great, the foor exotic, spicy and really nice, but specially all the staff was great, charming, attentive, helpfull. Many well designed activities (don´t miss visiting the fisherman village with Rachid), good diving center, really beautifull coral garden... More

Unguga lodge benefits from the best of everything that tropical Zanzibar has to offer. Perched right on the waters edge, waking up every morning to wonderful blue seas and a superb complimentary breakfast was just glorious. The villas are a novel design with a main bedroom set in the middle of a huge thatched hut roof that shelters semi enclosed... More

When we first arrived at Unguja Lodge we were met by the smiling receptionist who welcomed us with drinks and a cool face cloth. My first reaction was that I had stepped into paradise. The sparkling blue swimming pool, the beautiful restaurant and bar area and a private beach with access straight into the sea. We were shown to our... More

the bungalows are really huge and beautiful but u cannot leave anything as the monkeys will steal them, so u need to keep all your items in your closed bedroom, which is a bit annoying in the end. but it gives charm to this place, and its nice to see the monkeys jumping from branches to branches. the pool is... Great Lodge on the beach. The lodge incorporates very well with the environment, Len & Alastain with their great team will ensure you are comfortable. The pool ever welcoming, certified PADI on site for your snorkeling. Food very fresh. Located on a cliff and in the evening you can see Dar es Salaam on the straight channel
