A relaxed and beautiful setting. Sun lounges sit above above a white beach. Staff are extremely friendly with plenty of character and energy. We had a wonderful 'island trip' which consisted of a boat ride on a beautiful dhow and a bbq on the sand dunes. (very special) although the journey back was a little bumpy! The sand on the...

We booked this stay through Imagine Africa (also excellent) as a rest stay after a one-week safari in the Serengeti. We arrive in the twilight of evening to be met with a romantic lantern-lit paradise that only got better in the sunlight next day. The villas are huge, opulent and very beautiful - ours had a very private view of...

Authentic, rustic and luxurious built in sympathy with the coastline forest , We had a family vllla with 3 ensuite bedrooms .and a stunning view out to sea on the southern coast . After two weeks in the bush at some great camps we had the opportunity to visit Zanzibar and stayed at the Unguja Lodge. Beautiful location on the beach near Kizimkazi - a fishing village and interesting spot for a local tour by Rashid, who works with the lodge. Fresh seafood was great at lunch and dinner - worked well with...

If you want to reach complete relation on your vacation, this is the place to be. This is a lady back lodge with an eco friendly image that really sticks to it. The facilities are adapted to the nature and you can really see and hear the wildlife in the evenings. Even though it is remote and eco friendly the...

On a coral outcrop above the sea, and surrounded by baobab - its a few steps to the pool, exceptional food, a low tide beach and a PADI dive master. Staff are attentive to every need. Use it as a base for getting to know the south, visiting dolphins or nearby islands. And only an hour from the spice farms....

Just back from safari followed by a very relaxed stay at Unguja Lodge. Highly recommended. We were welcomed by Martin and the team who were magnificent. The whole team were so friendly and made us feel at home from the first minute. The rooms are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The food is incredible and we enjoyed lobster,...

Went to rest and not be bombarded with people, JUST THE PLACE. Except the diving crew and the diving was just TOOO good to not take full advantage! Six dives, including a night dive, was wow! The tone of the place, IS RELAX! The cottages are very different, but perfect. Everything was perfect... except maybe the breakfast..little monotonous,,, but... cant...

Dear Sharron and Gordon, Thank you so much for your positive review. We are very proud of our diving crew and our instructor Said, also because they are one of the few if not the only completely 'local' crew on the island. Zanzibar is not commonly known for diving, but Menai Bay is grossly underestimated as dive destination. We have...

We stayed the beginning of March and were the only guests on the property. Originally, we had planned on 2 days in Zanzibar, but when I saw the pictures, we opted for 4 days. The pictures definitely do NOT do it justice. The villas are simply amazing. You must watch for the "naughty" monkeys, but if you keep your valuables...

What an amazing place! property consisting of 8 private villas, set in Zanzibars natural habitat. Little naughty monkeys running around, (lizards not scary) tiny antelopes and a view to die for. Sunsets and sunrises that are truly magical with dolphin spotting early in the morning! All villas are super stylish with attention to the smallest details such as, tea and...
