What an amazing island Zanzibar! And when you take a ride down south to The Residence, Kizimkazi, you enter into a different world, offering calm, peace in a natural habitat with luxurious villas. We planned the visit with a group of 3 families n friends. The resort has 66 spacious villas, beautifully curated ensuring the privacy one would expect on vacations! The staff was extremely courteous and hospitable, taking care of the guests. Restaurant Manager Preetam, Chef Arjun and Chef Sumesh, the staff Mechan n others, it all drives from the top with Aftab (Resort Management team) taking extra care of us. The food was the winner, all the 20 mins humpty drive to reach to the resort is very well taken care of by the quality n taste of the food served. Celebrating every evening with local music, dance n performances, ensured a close engagement with the guests. Its definitely a YES to endorse and recommend the readers here to explore and stay at this well crafted resort. An amazing place to sit and enjoy the birds chirping thru out the day! Well done Team The Residence! Thank you for making our stay memorable! I am enclosing some of the images I took, however, one needs to be there to experience The Residence natural beauty! Go explore!…
We appreciated the welcome, service, availability kindness and attentiveness of all the staff. In hands of a dynamic young management team, the Residence is a wonderful place and is promised a bright future. The Residence is for us an exceptional hotel in the middle of an authentic and preserved site. It is a real privilege to have stayed these few days in that hotel and to meet such a welcoming and attentive team. They did everything to make our stay exceptional, unexpected and fabulous. We have left them happy but also so sad not to be able to extend this exceptional stay. We are happy to recommend The Residece.
The residence Zanzibar is a place I would call home away from home , everything is perfect 👍. The food is delicious 🤤 and the workers great communication. Beautiful location for couple vacation and solo trips . Definitely coming back with my husband. The rooms are so spacious and the environment very clean
Our overall experience was not as expected, we did not get a few things that we're promised by the hotel, the food could have been better and the maintenance of the hotel needs some attention specially if you pay the price, you expect something of high standard rather than chipped bath tub, missing tile in the pool and hot floating breakfast rather than cold eggs with small portion of bread and pastries. I wouldnt stay here again.
The Residence Zanzibar is a perfect resort for a family getaway. A very well managed and maintained property. 32 hectors of lush green gardens and cycling paths along them….. A decent size private pool overlooking the ocean… and a massive beachfront infinity pool. To top it up, you have Chef Arjun and Mr Pretam (Restaurant Manger) along with their welcoming teams to serve you the best of the food. I would happily recommend this resort to friends and Family. Just one feedback, please ask the municipality to repair the approach road to the resort. Special thanks to Mr Aaftab.
Was my first time to Zanzizbar and after some research; I decided on The Residence as my choice. I could not have picked a better place. Be it the staff, room (beach front villa), or the food. I love this place. The staff are always cheerful and helpful. The weather was perfect. The bed is literally the most comfortable I have slept on. The food is generally good a d with good variety. Can't wait to go again.

He took us the to the kimize village and guided us throughout the village he was so polite respectful and helpful. love the staff and the facilities of the resort. the spa is really nice the yoga instructor Sree is also really good. loved every bit of the trip. their gym is good. the rooms are so spacious. the food was delicious chef Arjun is incredible Disliked · the sauna doesn’t work properly. the heat level is not as per normal it’s a lot less. the road needs some work the bumpy ride is a little annoying. it’s a bit of a mission to break notes and change currency.…

Greetings. I just left The Residence have toyed there 4 til 9 May. All I can say is that it's just as good as it gets. The food and beverage manager Pritham, head chef Sumesh and Arjun catered to my vegetarian .. no garlic and onion requirements. And every morsel was delicious and prepared and served nicely. I felt at home immediately being greeted my Pilli, Nerry, and Wilfred at reception. They are so pleasant and calm minded that you can't help but love them for their expertise at hospitality. And the Spa was terrific. I had the Zanzibar Zest massage 3 times .. and Neema gave massage that was deep, gentle, Long strokes, usage of forearms and elbow. I really had not had such fine relaxing massage like that in many years. Kudos to Neema. The villas are perfect though the stylistic concept of the rooms is a bit dated. None the less all is maintained excellently, And it's all on a lush garden property facing the Indian Ocean. The only very bad thing from my perspective is this: I could not stay longer😊 If you get it together to visit Zanzibar, and want to relax, The Residence Is a must. I really offer my thanks and appreciation to the entire staff that made my stay so wonderful .. and I hope to come back soon. All the best to all of them. Best regards, Sean Hobgood ,, Was in Villa 105…
We traveled to Zanzibar at the beginning of March for a 4 day getaway and chose to stay at The Residence. It was our first time visiting Zanzibar and this hotel had been recommended to us by the travel agent. What an incredible suggestion! The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived and continued right up until we were back at the airport. Unfortunately whilst we were away myself and my daughter fell ill but luckily for us Dr. David - the resident Dr. at the hotel - was on hand and was extremely accommodating and attentive. What a great guy!! And what made it even more amazing was that there was no extra charge for his expertise.... we couldn't believe it!!! All of the staff at The Residence were absolutely wonderful, polite, great with my daughter and super helpful. The food was great and they also had night time entertainment which was really fun! The villa that we stayed in was very clean, tidy and spacious with its own pool. We also had a few visitors (the monkey's!) which was great. My 2 year old was ecstatic seeing them and that alone was a highlight for me. There is only one negative and that would be the 20/25 minute intense bumpy road car journey leading to the hotel (the total car journey from the airport was 1hr and 20/25mins). Other than that I honestly have no cons about the place, for us as a family we thought it was fantastic and will 100% go back. We've stayed in places such as the Maldives and didn't experience such good quality service there as what we did here. This is your sign to book Zanzibar as your next holiday destination and to stay at The Residence!!…
