Only just getting round to writing my review. We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June and there isn't a single thing to complain about! If you want the tacky entertainment of an evening this place isn't for you. Staff can't do enough for you and everywhere is spotless. Food is probably the best I've ever had abroad! We stayed in room 91 and I think this is the most perfect room in the hotel as it gets the best of the sun throughout the day. Room service is available but at a cost which I think the hotel should reconsider for guests who have the pool rooms as we didn't get to take advantage of the drinks as much as we would of because we had to keep walking back to the pool bar. People have mentioned the public showers not being great for when you have an early checkout but the ones we used on our last day were spotless and really modern so I have no idea where they used. We also hired a car while we're where here from reception and was given lots of advice on places to visit. Some that I didn't even find online before we went. We will definitely return!

Came away to lavris hotel for a last minute break. From the moment we arrived everything was how we expected and more. The room was clean and spacey, we chose the superior twin. We came half board and had no trouble with the food, always plenty to choose from and to a high quality. The staff could not do more any more to help. Pool facilities and sun beds were clean and always sun beds free to lay on. We did not get time to use the spa but only heard good things, and from what we could see it looked immaculate. My only fault would be the shower facilities that we used before leaving the hotel. We had a late flight and checked out of our room at 12pm so had to use the public shower facilities. These could do with a bit of a revamp. If you want a relaxing quiet holiday this is the place for you.

Beautiful place, our room was equipped with shower over a small bath, towels, hairdryer,TV, air con., tea and coffee making facilities and a complementary bottle of water on arrival. The staff without exception were friendly, spoke English (most spoke several languages) and genuinely seemed to want us to have a lovely holiday. The food was buffet style and plentiful. Vegetarian options were basic but beautiful. The food was piping hot and never ending. We went half board and were extremely satisfied with this place. If you want entertainment in the evenings maybe choose somewhere else however for us this hotel was excellent. It should be 5*. We didn’t get round to using the spa as we were either sightseeing or just too comfortable lounging by the spotlessly clean pool working on our suntans, but other guests were full of praise for it. There is a supermarket next door which is convenient. We flew into Chania airport which is about 3 hours transfer time away ( just the company we booked with did it that way) Heraklion airport is only 20 minutes away. On the transfer journey I noticed that very few hotels has a bus stop nearby. Lavris hotel is10 minutes walk away from the bus stop from which we could catch the local buses, which are air conditioned, to explore the beautiful island of Crete. The hotel also can arrange excursions if you so wish. We absolutely loved everything about this hotel and hope to return in the future.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on an all-inclusive basis. It was truly stunning. It deserves to be 5* in my opinion. I stayed in a double room and it was designed like a little bungalow but with bags of space. It was a very comfortable stay with room service coming each day. The food and drink at this hotel was wonderful. There was lots of variety within each meal although some days there was some repetition. However, due to the initial variety, it was easy to get different meals. Having said this, I am quite the basic eater so I found myself mostly eating chips. The pool bar was also great, the all day snacks include chips, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream and more. The pool bar drinks were also fabulous. There was a good selection of alcohol including spirits, liquors, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks including brands like Fanta Lemon and so on. I had heard that cocktails cost more prior to visiting but this wasn't the case. About 8 cocktails are included in all-inclusive with 3 or 4 being extra but I saw no reason to purchase them. Additionally, the two men who run the bar, one in the daytime and one in the nighttime are two of the loviest people I have ever met. They are so friendly, engaging and always smiling. They seem to genuinely care about each guest and make the hotel that little bit more special. Outside, are two big pools and two little pools that are very sizeable and make for great swimming. There is also an indoor pool with can be located in the spa. Which leads me to my next point; the spa. The spa was stunning with all the luxury facilities you would expect such as a hot tub, gym and so on. They also offer a full range of treatments at a great cost. A bit of side note which I guess they have at several hotels across Europe but still very impressive is the fact that every member of staff I encountered could fluently speak at least 4 or more languages and very well. Lastly, the location of this hotel was great. The beach was only roughly an 8 or so minute walk away and so were the water sports activities and shops surrounding it. The airport transfers were also only about 15 minutes long. All in all I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! Other notes: my 1) Our transfers to the airport upon checkout were not for another 8 hours but once we had handed in our key we were welcomed to continue to stay on site for the rest of the day as normal. 2) Rooms do come with towels, air-conditioning, a hair dryer and so forth. 3) My girlfriend and I are in a same-sex relationship and this was no issue. We felt very comfortable.

We’ve just touched down today from an amazing week staying in one of the junior suites at the Lavris. An absolutely stunning hotel, we upgraded to the Junior suite with our own pool and it was well and truly worth every penny. The service at the Lavris is second to none, nothing is too much to ask. All the staff were friendly, funny, personable and would genuinely go out of their way for us.. nothing was too much to ask. As far as location, Kato Gouves is a very quiet area, though there are bars and restaurants in the local vicinity. There is however a vehicle hire place across the road which does bikes, cars and quad bikes which is so helpful! 100% recommend a stay here!
