Magda Hotel Club garners accolades for its impeccable service and spotless cleanliness, with the staff earning high marks for their professionalism. While the newer rooms are celebrated for their modern comforts, some guests find the older rooms lacking in updates. The hotel's location is appreciated by those enjoying proximity to transit and the beach, though it may not buzz with enough energy for all. The culturally rich atmosphere is a hit primarily among French-speaking guests, and while the amenities are well-liked, additional fees have left some questioning the overall value.

Arrived in August during covid and felt very safe throughout my week here. There was hand gel everywhere and all staff had their mask on at all times. The staff in the restaurant serve the food to you which is always delicious and varied. The staff at this hotel make your stay from the bar staff who always remember you to the restaurant staff who are amazing. A special mention to the outstanding animation team especially florent who is just crazy and the lovely clemence who works none stop to please guests and includes everyone she even come to see us leave the hotel yesterday to say bye that girl is a real gem. The hotel is classed as a 4 star and when you first arrive it looks like a 4 star but that changes when you get into the room its more like a 3 star. The ultra modern public areas do not continue to the bedroom they are outdated and need updating. The bed in our bedroom badly creaked when sat on thought it would break the bed was very uncomfortable had 1 full nights sleep in the whole week and back ached every day. Another couple we spoke to had no problems with their bed but even my super fit husband also had bad back and couldnt do the fitness classes some days due to this. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the centre but due to covid some is shut. Overall i would return to this hotel as we had an amazing week which was more due to the staff and people we met here.

What a great couple of weeks. The hotel is all covid safe hand sanitiser everywhere. All staff wear masks to protect the guests. The animation team great clemence (sorry if spelt wrong) had us in stitches with laughter during our aqua aerobics (tour de Yorkshire) . Much thanks to nino and co for the great service in the restaurant always cleaning surfaces down after each family left the seats. A big shout out to natasha the very friendly lady serving drinks at the bar. All staff work very long hours. I'd say be patient with the busy staff serving food on the restaurant.
My one negative for me im a gin drinker and the local gin wasn't for me yuk.
I felt safer there than here in UK the shop owner over the road told me there has only been 6 cases of covid reported since the beginning of the covid .

Just returned from two excellent weeks in this hotel. Can’t fault it at all. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean with hand gels and sanitiser everywhere, felt safer during this difficult time than we do back in the UK. The quality of food and cleanliness of the dining room was excellent. The rooms were of a good size with a fridge TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The animation team were excellent headed up by Florence and Clemence who always made time for everyone. All in all a well run friendly hotel which I cant praise enough, would totally recommend this to anyone. Looking forward to returning next year.

Just returned from a week at Magda.
The hotel itself was nice but half of the hotel is very modern and new and half of it’s very dated. We had one of the older rooms and it was very clean, but we were disappointed as it doesn’t seem fair that you pay the same price but get one of the old rooms, as the newer rooms were the ones advertised. However the room was really clean, had a fridge, a nice little balcony with seating and a wardrobe and safe (which you have to pay extra for)
The staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel is catered for French guests, whilst most of the staff did speak English it was limited and all of the entertainment is in French so English guests can’t really take part.
I thought the food was nice but pretty average really, it was luke warm but very repetitive and compared to other all inclusives I’ve stayed in before it wasn’t anything to write home about, but we didn’t go hungry!
The drinks were nice but there was usually a queue at the bar as there was never more than one person making drinks and they were only served until 11pm. We had asked for some bottled water and were told this wasn’t included and we had to purchase this from the local shop (not had this before at all inclusive hotels) but then saw a French guest ask for bottled water and they were given some.
The location was really good, there was a little shop directly opposite the hotel and several souvenir shops and little mini markets just minutes away. The beach was less than a 5 minute walk and there were plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. We took the bus into Heraklion which was really easy and only cost a couple Euros and took half an hour which I’d really recommend.
Overall, I think our experience would have been more positive if we had got one of the newer rooms, I probably wouldn’t stay here again but it was by no means a bad holiday!

My wife and I have just returned from 14 nights at the Magda Hotel. The hotel is outstanding, close to all the shops, bars, taverns and the beach all within easy walking distance.

First the hotel itself, we had one of the deluxe rooms which we paid extra for but it was well worth it, large queen size bed plus a single bed, the bathroom had a large shower cubicle with two rain shower heads in it. The rooms are alway kept clean and tidy, bedding and towels changed every other day . There was a large pool just outside the room, the sun beds were very nice with a thick mattress on them no problem getting a bed. The pool was cold but got warmer as our holiday went on.

The Animation team was good. The only problem was they favoured the French in a big way ( the hotel was made up of 85% French) when a member spoke to you it was always in French if you replied in English on at least three occasions they walked off and started talking to the French people.

But we like to give a very big thank you to all the bar staff who worked so hard all day and night. Anna was so friendly, Elef, Natassa, they were always happy in their jobs and John was a very funny man, always willing to have a joke and a chat. Then the restaurant manager he was so hard working from early morning to late at night he kept it ticking over so very well. Then there was Maria, the hotel manager who was so helpful and friendly.

The food was outstanding, plenty of choices everyday, fresh orange juice every morning so very nice and Oh the puddings so,so very nice.

Only one warning about the hotel is that it's on a very busy road.with cars , vans, coaches and motorbikes racing up and down most of the day, and there is no footpath to walk on so be very careful when out and about.

The hotel itself is lovely , so clean , the staff are great , the food is ok for all inclusive plenty of fresh salad and fruits , drinks are not good at all apart from the beer and the orange juice in the morning at breakfast, everything else is too watery or tastes funny , the cocktails are at best drinKable , we are currently in the hotel and have tried everything on the cocktail list hoping to find one that isn’t either tasteless or knocking the back of your throat out . All inclusive drinks we know are usually made with local spirits but these are the worst we have had in a hotel . Some of the rooms are dated and some are lovely and modern the ones you see in the pictures are clearly the newer ones , however the dated ones are adequate to sleep in and are cleaned to a high standard every day , the pool area is lovely with plenty of beds . The evening entertainment is probably hard at the minute with the curfew and music ban so respect to the entertainment team for having a go to keep us going . Please if the hotel read this teach someone to make a decent Tom Collins that doesn’t taste like methylated spirit with soda water .plenty of food with snacks offers mornings and afternoons as well as your 3 meals .

We've just arrived back from a one week stay here and had a brilliant time! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and is kept very clean. There are four pools, one seems to be very new and modern with nicer sun beds, one is sort of another modern rooftop pool while the other two are round the corner and are a lot more traditional and quieter. If you want a sun bed at the newer pools make sure to get up early because they're all gone by 10 am, a lot of people were coming and reserving multiple sunbeds then leaving which was a shame.

The room was fine. We were a little disappointed after only seeing pictures of the newly renovated rooms on Jet 2 and then being given one of the older rooms on arrival. However the room was still nice and was cleaned daily, and we got fresh towels and sheets every day.

The staff were all lovely. Most of them spoke Greek, English, French and German so everyone was welcome. It is mostly French and German guests, so if you're looking to meet other Brits I'd suggest going elsewhere, but we didn't mind.

You really need to take your hats off to the animation team. This part of Greece was under a small lockdown at the time we visited which meant bars and hotels could not play music, but they did their best to keep things entertaining even without music and had nightly activities such as karaoke and team games. I will say that on my first night they were very very pushy about joining in on karaoke and wouldn't take no for an answer, then after this they never really asked us to join in again and seemed to favour the French/German guests (but maybe that was just me!). Overall they were fab, lots of daytime activities as well.

Our only issue was with the food and drink. The food itself was very tasty however it was very very repetitive. There were several nights we had to go out for dinner despite being all inclusive because we were getting a bit sick of the same food every lunch and dinner time. The beer and wine was on tap to pour yourself which was great, however it tasted very watered down. There were all inclusive cocktails but they weren't great either so again, we went out for drinks quite a few times.

The area of Gouves is lovely and the hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the main street, but if you go another 15 minutes you will find even more bars (our favourite was Central Bar).

Overall, the hotel was gorgeous and very clean. The staff were friendly and very well accommodating. Our only issue was the food and drink.

Despite Covid 19 the holiday felt like a holiday. Resort seemed more quiet than a typical normal all inclusive holiday, however the hotel is that big it seemed quiet due to the size of the hotel .

The hotel is rated 4 stars, some websites I've seen 4 and a half stars. The impression I have taken from the Magda hotel is that one part looks very newly renovated with better quality rooms pool side (as you can see from the images) . Personally I believe this section of the hotel makes the rating of 4 stars. It is very clean and the rooms are fantastic.

I stayed in the other part of the hotel where the rooms looked like to me had been there since opening of the hotel however they were very clean . The cleaning staff e round every morning and made sure the rooms were cleaned . I would have one criticism about these rooms as the beds were quiet hard . I had a few restless nights, as a couple we were given to single beds to sleep on which were hard and not ideal .

Overall the Magda hotel has very friendly staff, the all inclusive side of things is fantastic and very very nice Greek food served day in day out .

The hotel is on a quieter part (Gouves) however is very close to a bus root going into towns Hersonissos and Heraklion from very much the top of the main road literally a five minute walk from Magda Hotel . The bus costing only Three euro and 60 cent each way for two adults . The food in both of these towns were a step above the hotel food and restaurants around the hotel . It was so tasty!

The entertainment on a night was unfortunately effected due to restrictions in Greece which meant music was not aloud . However the entertainment staff used their common sense and put entertainment on that didn't involve music . Eg tik tok challenges . I'm not used to no music this felt a little strange to me . However fair play to the entertainment staff .

I would personally recommend this hotel if your looking for a quiet spacious hotel that is close to major towns. There is also a beach two minute walk away from the Magda hotel if you like that sort of thing . I just went down got a few pictures then that was me . The beach was very busy every time we visited.

I have really enjoyed my stay at Magda even though COVID hit, only real restrictions was no music . & remembering to do your tests when your away and back at home!

See pictures below to see what the hotel is like !!

Just got back from a week with the girls staying at the Magda Hotel. This is the first hotel we have stayed in where the restaurant staff stayed to greet us with a meal at nearly midnight. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and have good air con. The restaurant caters for everyone, food is delicious and there is plenty of selections of drink. Nino in the restaurant is fab! The entertainment team work hard with various programmes on day and night. The best was Greek night ( Thursday evening) Very entertaining and great atmosphere. I recommend visiting Tonia at the wellness centre - had a massage and facial, it was wonderful. There is plenty of sunbeds around the pools (there is 4) we spent alot of time on the beach, we used the blue sunbeds, they were €7 for 2 sunbeds and parasol a day. There is also a beach café right in front of the Astir hotel which is lovely and will let you use there toilets. We would definitely return to the Magda Hotel.

We spent a relaxing fortnight here, although in the older part of hotel the rooms were spacious, with high ceilings and excellent air conditioning. Linen and towels were changed every 2nd day. Our balcony overlooked a road which was quiet, odd
tour bus picking up and dropping off.

We were able to enjoy music and laughter from a nearby bar🙂 in an evening after hotel bar closed but once our balcony door was closed we didn't hear anything

The restaurant was very efficiently run by Nino, well done to him and fellow staff there.

Ladies who ran the bar were super and quickly knew what our drinks were, a big thanks to Nikos who kept the tables clear of empty glasses very efficiently, a great worker!

Entertainment staff worked really hard, and as a team 😊 we really enjoyed the Divas show very much and quizzes etc were entertaining, big shout out to the lovely German girls Avra and Sandra 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 who always took time to speak with us Scottish folk! You're both very much thought of by us, Avra hope your knee problem improves soon for you, and all the best in your future careers, remember to stay in touch with each other, I'm sure you'll be friends for life.

Tye majority of the rooms in the new section overlook the pools, we stayed on the 1st floor, but didn't leave any windows open as there are a lot of mosquitos around, so we learnt the hard way after being bitten to sleep with them closed 😩
