We stayed several nights in the gorgeous, ornate Villa Moorings in Barga, a medieval hilltop town in Northern Tuscany. It is a beautiful villa with tiled floors, ornate ceilings and it is furnished in style. It's gardens include a swimming pool and Oscar who maintains the manicured lawns. The day starts at breakfast with a delicious selection of fruits, cheeses,...

Well located with own private car parking, lovely pool and great breakfast. Service was brilliant nothing too much trouble and handy advise and directions to local restaurants and places to visit were very helpful. Good to have car when coming to Barga, not convinced that buses/ train is a good option. We travelled into Barga from Pisa airport (about 1...

I've stayed in many hotels, houses and apartments in this area but the Villa Moorings is now my favourite. The villa itself is beautifully restored and kept and the views from the 3rd floor belvedere are stunning. The owner and staff are charming and helpful. Breakfasts are excellent and include a variety of home-made cakes and pastries, as well as...

A very pleasant, family run hotel in the small and beautiful town of Barga, close to the center with near by restaurants. Great area to explore the mountain part of Toscana. Welcoming and accommodating staff, very recommended

This was our third visit to Villa moorings and you are sure of a warm greeting from Beatrice, the owner. The hotel is full of character, history and original features, beautifully and carefully restored. Our family room was huge. It had an entrance hall, two large double bedrooms and bathroom, air con unit and fan in the kids room. Large...

The hotel is a great spot for a xoulpe of days or for a week or more. It is a 5 minute walk to the old town. But be warned, once inside the old town everythnig is either up or down mostly steep steps. This is where all the restaurants are located. The hotel is a typical Tuscan villa ser...

My husband and & I won an auction bid from Glorie Dei Artes Foundation for a fabulous trip to Florence, Pisa & Barga. We received a 3 night stay at this amazing hotel. Beatrice & Anna Rosa were very welcoming and guided us on places to visit during the day. The hotel is an old luxury mansion with ornate furnishings...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Amazing early 1900 villa in the gorgeous ancient town of Barga. The staff is amazing as are the grounds, pool, breakfast, rooms, and balconies are stunning. The staff washed our baby clothes every day to help us with our long trip. The villa's tower is the best lookout point in that stunning region of Lucca.
