Very beautiful, small, charming luxurious hotel in a quiet countryside location. Very nicely appointed, large rooms, wood floors, spectacular breakfast in an absolutely gorgeous dining room, former olive producing estate, lots of charm. Grounds are immaculate, very well maintained. Unfortunately, we were not there during warm weather, since the pool looked so inviting. Has spa facilities, which we did not use, but am sure they would be of the same caliber as the rest of the house. Drove into Coimbra in about 45 minutes. Near a schist village we found fascinating. Highly recommend, make sure you get good directions . We got a bit lost trying to find it as there are several Cerdeira s in that area and even a few Quinta da palmeiras.
We started our vacation here with a 5-day stay. This was a perfect start to recover from the busy daily professional life and then fully relexad to continue our journey. It is a beautiful accommodation with a perfect location to meet this. The room was spacious and fully met our expectations. The host and hostess made sure everything went perfectly, from breakfast to the delicious three-course menu for the evening. An address that we would like to share with friends.
We stayed 6 night in this wonderful place. The owners have succeeded in creating a place full of discrete luxury. The hotel is a nice place to relax, the surrounding countryside is magnificent and there are lots of interesting places not far away. Add to this the wonderful food that is prepared with love and you have a fantastic combination. The room we had was superb and although it was very warm outside, the room was always comfortable. Overall an unforgettable holiday stay.
The Quinta is a lovingly restored large old house and associated outbuildings surrounded by orange trees and well-tended gardens. Inside, a great deal of care and attention has been put into the beautifully furnished rooms. As this was the beginning of the season, we were the only guests for the first night, and proprietor Jack suggested we might like to stay in the main house in a lovely suite with wide-ranging views over the surrounding countryside. Breakfast (with orange juice straight from the garden) and the three-course dinner were delightful. Cerdeira turned out to be an excellent base from which to discover this part of Portugal; mountain walks through beautiful spring flowers, waterfalls and (particularly recommended) kayaking on the Mondego with Rock & River. Sadly we could only stay for three nights; by the time we had unwound properly, it was time to leave. We'll have to find at least a week next time. Many thanks to Jack and Ana for creating such a beautiful, peaceful destination, and for the excellent home cooking.…
So many things to mention that made our stay so delightful...staring with Jack’s welcome and his efficient operation (and wry humor), Ana’s cooking that made us feel like we were guests in her home, the attention to detail in both service and decor, the generous and beautifully appointed suites, the lovely outdoor areas, and the spectacular view from the front porch. We were three couples traveling together, and all of us could find nothing but superlatives to say about our stay. The relatively remote location may not be for everyone, but we were not inconvenienced in getting to the major sites we wanted to visit, plus we were guided by Jack to some truly amazing places we would not have seen otherwise. A delightfully memorable stay!
